TCS skill Gap explained : • TCS Job Data Shocked e...
India's IT industry has experienced a remarkable journey, transforming from a nascent sector in the 1970s to a global powerhouse today. This video explores the evolution of Information Technology in India, from the early days of TCS (Tata Consultancy Services), Infosys, HCL, and Wipro to the current landscape shaped by AI (Artificial Intelligence) and the GenAI revolution.
The Beginning: Pioneers and Early Challenges
The seeds of India's IT revolution were sown in the 1970s when companies like ECIL (Electronics Corporation of India Limited) laid the groundwork for computer science and technology. With the implementation of FERA (Foreign Exchange Regulation Act), many multinational companies like IBM were compelled to exit India, creating a vacuum that local companies like TCS and Infosys were quick to fill. This was the era when the Indian IT industry began to take shape, driven by the visionaries who saw the potential in computer science and information technology.
The Y2K scare of the late 1990s proved to be a turning point. Indian IT companies gained global recognition for their expertise in software development and problem-solving, leading to a surge in demand for IT services from Indian firms. This period also saw the rise of STPI (Software Technology Parks of India), which provided the necessary infrastructure and incentives for IT companies to grow and compete on a global scale.
The Present: Dominance and Challenges
Today, India's IT sector is a major contributor to the country's GDP (Gross Domestic Product), employing millions of people and generating billions in revenue. The big players like TCS, Infosys, HCL, and Wipro have established themselves as global leaders, providing a wide range of IT services to clients across the world. The industry has expanded beyond traditional software development to include areas like cloud computing, cybersecurity, data analytics, and more.
However, the IT sector has also faced significant challenges. The COVID-19 pandemic disrupted business operations globally, leading to a shift towards remote work and accelerated digital transformation. Despite these challenges, the sector showed resilience, adapting quickly to the new normal and continuing to drive innovation.
Unemployment in India has been a concern, with the IT sector not being immune to the effects of global economic downturns and the recession. The industry's reliance on the H1B visa program in the United States has also been a point of contention, with policy changes impacting the flow of talent between India and other countries.
The Future: AI and Beyond
Looking ahead, the future of India's IT industry is closely tied to emerging technologies. The AI revolution is set to redefine the way we work, live, and interact with technology. Companies are increasingly investing in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and computer science engineering to stay ahead of the curve. The integration of AI in various sectors, from healthcare to finance, promises to create new opportunities while also posing challenges in terms of job displacement and ethical considerations.
The rise of startups in India, particularly in the IT and tech space, is another promising trend. These startups are driving innovation, creating new business models, and contributing to the growth of the digital economy. The government's push for initiatives like Digital India and Make in India is further supporting the development of the IT sector, ensuring that India remains at the forefront of technological advancements.
However, the path forward is not without its challenges. The industry must navigate issues like data privacy, cybersecurity, and the impact of automation on employment. The need for continuous skill development and upskilling in areas like AI, machine learning, and data science is crucial to ensure that the workforce is prepared for the future.
Conclusion: A Revolution in the Making
The past, present, and future of the IT industry in India tell a story of resilience, innovation, and transformation. From the early days of ECIL and the challenges posed by FERA to the global dominance of companies like TCS, Infosys, HCL, and Wipro, the journey has been nothing short of extraordinary. The AI revolution and the rise of startups are set to shape the future of the industry, creating new opportunities and challenges.

To be honest. IT industry is not going down. Colleges in India or specifically in TN, failing to produce good quality students who are capable of doing technical things. Summa assignment test nu vechu, college ah school mari nadathuna. Idha vida mosama than pogum. Personally experiencing this in college. Colleges are bad TBH. The doesnt care if you are learning are not. They just TOOOO BAD.

If that student really want to land on better job. He/she should stop blaming college and start developing skills by self learning and attending hackathons to know the current trends, nothing will stop them becoming successful in IT unless they are not putting effort
@@ajaik4155when what is the reason on paying colleges? . How does the questioning goes wrong, when other good college or national colleges does better for their student on the same money

Quality developers are missing these days after AI development. Now, it's a great opportunity for people to learn new skills and shine, but it's taken it for granted. Just copy pasting and building applications won't help for the long run.
Need to learn the basics, avoid asking chatGpT, and copy-paste. Instead, use it efficiently.

Reason was., IT not down, student not enough for skill , what company need
I'm 2024 passed out IT student, still I'm not getting any IT job i don't why , contiounsly trying to get a job. But most the company's require minimum 1 years experience in any role. I'm interested in Web development and i made small web pages. So the company expect more skills from the freshers.
Any IT field Persons please tell something I invested lots of money In my college as well as course I'm not rich family person I'm a farmer son. I'm a first graduate in my family
Keep pushing brother, try TCS NQT, make projects and apply for startups, they'll take you for minimum wage but that's fine in the short run.

The demand is less now example even if you upskill you can't compete with AI

Its not only in software development also in accounting, bpo, finance etc but its happening more in IT now.

As he said , It industry is going to boom again n again. But what is going down.
From No of hiring will go down . Instead 1000 ppl they will hire 500. Lets say developers going to lose their jobs soon. Only multi skilled developers going to survive.
Employees from different functionality going to eitheri lose job or going to work for less salary.
Unfortunately All the techies update themselves like software every year.
Nice information go heads
Anyone suggest best skills to learn in current market?
It is highly edited video so that the content will be given without any gaps and it is too hard to follow. In fact, it is very uncomfortable to watch.
Hi pa iam a housewife my daughter is studying 10th now. Next in 11 th which grp we have to choose little confused. On that time i watched ur video and learned that, what ever filed we choose is no matter in that we have improve our skill knowledge is important. So useful pa. I told my daughter to learn AI.
Sure ❣️
Pls ask your daughter based on her wish
Skillset demand(Cloud, AI, Cyber security and latest programming languages, Bigdata) and trained people not upto the mark are biggest problem in IT today.. India is a IT leader worldwide due to low cost labour. These two challenges may be the reason for sluggish growth of IT industry too. There is also effects due to wars, inflation etc
Yes same work I do in tcs 60,000
If I do in uk then 4,00,000
India is no more low cost market
@@naveenn7540 - If you know your billability from your service based companies, you won't say this. There is a huge difference between the pay for the same work, here in India vs other countries. In India, pay is very low. Even pay could be increased by Indian service based companies, up to 3-4 lakhs per month for an employee, but they are not increasing the pay and earning huge profits.
Nice information bro

In 2 year's you don't get actual pay due to high percentage of IT students. If you studied any core subject with computing we wil get job or else we wil get low income after 3 years and in 5 to 8 yrs no job for them...
in India our education is worst India need to update education system according to modern world still they treat as school students
Bro, Thank you so much for sharing the detailed info.
I have one doubt, currently I am searching job in a web development. I am seeing some opportunities in startup. In that startup company, the employees are only 1 to 10 or 10 to 50. I am not feeling good to explore that company because of job security.
What about your thoughts, is it ok to explore the opportunity or something else. Please reply.

@@sureshgk-jg1ut Hi bro. Which country youre speaking about?
Read this - > This is a clickbait psychological technique that negatively influences aspiring young engineers, solely to earn money without any social responsibility. Imagine someone about to choose IT as a career, only to see a misleading headline like 'No software jobs in 2030,' causing panic and making them switch to ECE or EEE for safety, ultimately derailing their career. As an engineer with 16+ years of experience, I can confidently say that the demand for computer engineering jobs will increase significantly in the future. From space exploration to healthcare, all industries will rely on computer engineers to develop new technologies and simplify their operations. If you want to work in IT, choose CS/IT, improve your skills, and you will earn more money than you can imagine. The market will offer you plenty of opportunities. Stop watching these kinds of videos where people post random content just to increase views and make money. There is no problem with IT jobs at any time.
Do you watch this full video? He also mentioned IT have a future. So improve your skill to get a job🤔🤔
