Prostate examinations, brave little toasters, sugar coated cookies, eat the muffins, angry gorillas, yo yo's. I'm now questioning if these rudiments actually exist x)
I just sesrched for "orchestral percussionist" after seeing the viral clip of the Mahler hammer and I discovered this rabbit-hole of xtra-normal videos and they're so weird, funny, and illuminating.
I play in the batterie at my high school. I have studied rudiments and all of those are real. (our tenors like to play scanks) ;) I play snare, and it truly is badass!
so the front ensemble consists of the real musicians, while the battery is just a dance squad? Like this if you're a person in the pit (front ensemble)! :D marimba ftw
@thegaymusiclover .... tenors are badass and are really difficult to play and i agree with you on every thing except that they have more visuals to worry about.. i think that is completely untrue.. snares have just as many visuals if not more

You were in it all 8 years? No, this is my rookie year. I am much less impressed by it now. I did PIA as an 8th grader this year. So if I do this untill I age out then I still have 8 MORE years
I BEG to differ; tenors are the hardest to play. They are heavier, and and more difficult to play. They have more visuals to worry about and marching is much harder because they have a bigger piece of equipment to lug. (yes their bigger than you in every way) Tenors are bad asses.
I play Dennis rodmans all day! haha. But snares do have really big egos, and quads just like to have fun and make fun of the snares hahaha....well that's what I do......
lol shes like what group are you in, and he's like Rythym X. then she's like oh, never heard of them. LOL. OF COURSE YOUR NOT GOING TO KNOW WHO THEY ARE IF YOU'RE ASKING WHAT FUCKING WGI IS! hahahaha. sheesh.
None of what this little bear says is "difficult" for snare drummers is difficult. Triplet rolls? Bands were doing that before they were born. Cheese? 1950s. Whatever......

Except that's usually what groups tic the most so...
But the thing is, the modernization of the marching percussionist and combining of rudiments and hybrid rudiments is what makes it hard
False, CYMBALS are the best looking section.
