      irelia is weak without passive
      you can all in jayce the moment he takes range form because he can’t go back to melee for a few seconds. Jayce loses any all in vs top champs.
      Vayne’s only weakness is that she has only 1 or 2 wards. She loses any melee fight but you can never reach her, thus chilling in bush counters her. + low mobility ranged champs are vulnerable to ganks and dives (vayne teemo ...)
      the weakness of ranged top isn’t their laning but their mid/late
      they are poor at side laning an have to facecheck every bush when moving around in late. And they are weak vs most mages and assassins so send your allies vs them.

    These are my favorite Skill capped videos, I’m always so captivated by the information, that when the vid is over, it only feels like 3 minutes went by. I would love if there was a rift wide quiz on this subject, covering multiple champs in multiple lanes. Even if it’s not about scary lane bullies, these videos help me as a newbie to understand matchups. It’s simply not enough to just say X champ wins against Y champ, and without experience, we might not even know what Y champ does!
    Anyways, great upload, would 100% want more like this.

    McBaze please do more videos with those tricky questions: actually that is something I and probably 99% low ELO players struggle with: who wins against who and why? (like in the video Urgot vs Darius)
    It is essential skill to learn but it takes long time to acompllish it, so maybe you could help us?

    • @BulanBulan9
      @BulanBulan9 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      In the older skillcapped videos (as in 2017 and 2018), they break the champions down like this:
      1. What are the champions' archetypes (melee assassin, ranged mage, Melee bruiser, etc.)?
      2. Who has more wave clear?
      3. Who wins Extended vs Burst trades?
      And then based off of these questions, they list out things to do (missions) to lane properly (Do you look for a push lead or let the wave push to stay healthy, etc.)
      Here's an example of the video: th-cam.com/video/uEpla8mveww/w-d-xo.html

    • @hatakekakashi3228
      @hatakekakashi3228 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If Urgot miss E Darius wins

    • @kikimotaaa
      @kikimotaaa 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      If you want to know who wins and why quickly, you have to understand what each champion wants to even do. For example in the Darius vs Urgot example, both Urgot and Darius can be considered “extended fighters”, however at level 1 that isn’t the case for Urgot since he doesn’t get the full W upgrade at level 1, where shotgun knees is on a shorter CD and he has infinite W. But Urgot at level 1 has high damage with shotgun knees, and a shield on his E that also doubles as a stun. So short trades are good with him.
      What does Darius want to do? He wants to start W, and auto you down to get his max bleed stacks. That can only happen if you stay in the fight long enough for it to happen, because getting max bleed stacks takes time. So knowing what each champion wants to do is important when it comes to analyzing matchups, and like Mcbaze said in the video, it’s not as simple as just “this champion is stronger”. It has more to do with “this champion is stronger at ‘X’ than this champion”, and knowing how to play around those strengths.

      You can analize that using this video for every match up, literally. If you punish any laning mistakes like positioning or item/runes advantages and force summoners or a bad recall you can win every lane vs any champion in toplane without even killing them. Also, having a bit of knowledge about jungle pathing is extremely useful since the gank top at lvl 3 is still incredibly common. The key to me is to respect 100% of your spikes and wave states, which sounds easy but its really not in the middle of a game.

    Another thing I notice as a low elo jungler myself is teammates tilt and flame when they get to a situation like that Urgot, where they expect you to gank because they are under tower. They dont care that they are OOM at 20% hp and have no vision on the map, they expect you to win their lane for them and if you dont, it's your fault they have 14 cs @ 10 min

    I find Darius to be pretty chill. The two matchups I struggle the most are Akali and Gwen.
    Gwen is winnable but I have to be playing at 120% at all times. To outtrade her, I need to constantly be as close to her as possible, so it is easier to walk behind her when she Q's, but even then, if she is smart, she will just save her E to dash across me so even that care to position can only take me so far.
    Akali, though, is really, really rough. I win against Akali level 1 only if I can get on her face, but she can still kite me with her range advantage. From level 2 onwards, it only gets worse because I can't hit her through her shroud and I can't run away from her and in the little situations I want to fight her, I never have the chance to truly stick. Last time I played against Akali, she killed me and I ran back to lane. She was low health trying to crash the wave just outside my tower. I poped ghost, I ulted, I used my W and I landed the pillar, but even that still wasn't enough to catch up.
    I can win the Gwen matchup when I focus to my limit, but Akali? I can't catch up to her, I can't run away from her and, against Trundle, her shroud is basically untargetability.

      Gwen matchup should be decent, since ur trundle. But akali counters you, you can't do shit to her lvl 3 onwards so just ban her tbh

    • @emillundqvist8126
      @emillundqvist8126 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      uh.. akali struggles super hard against tanky bruisers. Just rush hullbreaker on trundle + a vamp scepter and you're basically unstoppable. When she goes into shroud you can just press Q and then A on the ground. If she comes out of shroud she takes a chomp. Or she has to run away. Either way you just keep pushing turrets basically ignoring her.
      Until you get hullbreaker, it's somewhat rough though. In an akali match up I would NEVER run ghost on trundle. It's a straight up waste. Just go flash+tp and focus on killing turrets.
      Also if you're picking into akali, just take garen. Garen E reveals her in shroud and you have so much sustain that you can basically ignore her poke. Then same thing. Focus on turrets. You're not too likely to kill her unless she messes up.

    First question (who is stronger lvl 1): definitely Darius, especially if he starts W or E. Even if Urgot only makes a short trade, Darius can still slow or pull him or just Ghost and run Urgot down. This does not mean that Urgot can't win if Darius misplays, but in pure champion prowess Darius wins at level 1. You cannot fight Darius that early, if Darius pulls you as Urgot you have to E away (as said in the video, even if the flip would have landed Darius would have won the fight).
    Urgot does have a strong level 1, but there are multiple champions in top lane that actually are stronger (Darius is just one case, other ones would be champions with multiple casts of the "same" ability like Riven and Aatrox).
    4:20 Darius trolled by taking Q level 1. That is not something a Darius knowledgeable Darius player would do against Urgot. Darius also ran way in a direction that enabled Urgot to get multiple shotguns off. He should have walked into the top brush instead.
    7:22 if Darius didn't play scared and cycle back for a second for no reason he would have killed Urgot on the spot. Darius' hesitation is what killed him there.
    Long astory short, in the first clip the Urgot had no clue what he was doing and in the second clip Darius had no clue what he was doing.

    • @rectorwarren6467
      @rectorwarren6467 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If he doesnt go Q he loses all 3 minions. If he does short trades then Urgot wins, if he start W or E and all in then Urgot will kite him away with E and those 6 minions on his side. Even if he uses ghost theres no way he hit 5 stacks if Urgot spacing is good. But i do agree this matchup is about who misplay first

    • @MrReese
      @MrReese 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@rectorwarren6467 The first important thing when learning to lane is to actually prepare minions so not all three melees die at the same time. The joke is on Urgot here, because if Urgot walks up to poke Darius then Darius can either E him and Urgot has to E away or walk towards urgot and W him, which also means Urgot has to E away. Urgot just can not fight Darius, because that is all Darius wants to do.

That way, even if you do get ganked from top river, you just walk into bot river, or bot jungle, just directly away from the jungler. one mistake a lot of people make is thinking they have to run to their tower when they get ganked when this puts you in range of the junglers engage. If you simply just run away from them in the direct opposite direction they are coming from you could be completely safe.

      that's the point about how both high elo players were knowledgeable of how the level one matchup goes and therefore play it differently. Darius started Q in the high elo game because he knows he is at a disadvantage level one and needs q to secure minions/thin out the wave because he doesn't win level 1 trades against urgot if they play it right.

      Personally, I wait for the wave crash level 3, give up as many minions as I need to in order to stay 90% HP, wait for the rebound off tower, run him down with ghost, and it always worked (always = 4-5 times, don't know if I was against bad Teemos but I can't know that)
      After that it always became a stupid matchup where I just need to make sure I don't waste a W on his blind and run him down the top lane consistently
      Yeah, after 6 it's more annoying as his shrooms can help him disengage and kite away
      The only difficult thing is, I needed to trim the wave upon crashing in order not to give him a free cheat recall, and you WILL get hit, so it's difficult to space well and budget HP effectively. I always managed to do that, and things got pretty simple.
      EDIT: not implying that this is an easy matchup, for me it wasn't, but it was definitely playable and I always managed to win it.
      And also, it's been more than one season since the last time I played either Darius and this matchup, so things might be a little different now :D

      I feel this video is telling people to go into landing faze with a plan. Although the video uses an example of Urgot plus Darius it can apply to any champ. Firstly the video shows that you should use your powerspikes and advantages to take leads instead of respecting your landing phase partner all laning phase even though your even or win fights. For Kayle you have no choice but to respect most opponents but most of the time Kayle just wants to focus farm so going into lane with that mindset would be right thing to do instead of poking enemies for no reason. If you deeply understand Kayle and her matchup you can use the enemies disrespect of you to win laning phase better but that changes with opponents.

      he's pretty much just telling you to know what the champion you picked (if you're going into ranked with them you should probably know their strengths and weaknesses) is good at and dictate the tempo of the lane yourself instead of letting the enemy
      let's take Kayle as an example, until 6 you're weak, your goal should be to just last hit and poke him from range, if he pressures then give up the minion and settle for XP. It's more important to stay alive than to get 14 gold
      It's the exact same in jungle, if I'm playing Fiddlesticks and meet a Warwick at scuttle then unless my lanes have prio and start rotating over I'm giving it up.
      It's not a matter of being scared at all, it's a matter of knowing the champions and their matchups, what fights you can and can't take and when you can take them, and what kind of trades you should be going for

    0:44 : ok so the part where it talks about the level 1 trade
    darius takes ghost and urgot passive is not strong if urgot cannot position himself to hit multiple shots and darius w start is 10x stronger than urgot e start darius wins level 1 hard and there is little counterplay away from flash if urgot decided to get close and you cant make a short trade when youre a champion that his kit is centered about going in while being immobile against darius add on top of that darius slows you so urgot will basiclly be stuck in place compared to darius just zooming around him 24/7 getting the most free level 1 kill of his life there is no world where urgot wins level 1 against darius with ghost and w start just not gonna happen even if you cheese him from a bush
    3:03 :
    same thing with level 1 urgot cannot get close to darius as well even if he is ranged due to darius E if darius Es urgot no matter what level theyre both on early urgot looses due to the fact that His e will grant darius a free auto on champions and he can chain W right after thats two free stacks ad by the time Urgot Es and even if it hits darius would have 3 stacks already on him at level 2 making him as good as dead
    and this will continue onward till level 9 where darius has the advantage over urgot but after level 6 urgots starts to have windows of opportunity where he can kill darius (IN AN ALL IN) but it needs alot of set up and risk management cause its very easy to die to darius still
    what should urgot do ?
    - he should use his range to auto minions and farm nothing more darius has the advantage early vs urgot
    its a terrible matchup for urgot
    4:07 :
    the darius could have easily won and no urgot doesnt win cause he wasted E and hit darius with one passive auto plus one normal auto
    and darius still has ghost
    and urgot is immobile
    darius just presses ghost and starts autoing urgot while remaining in the zone where his passive knee is not on cause he just used it and he would be dead or he would be forced to flash or both the darius that you showed is just simply shit or maybe paying too much respect for a jungle level 2 or something idk
    just keep in mind aslong as darius has ghost up in early levels urgot cannot win ever and what i mean by early levels is the entire lanning phase
    what the urgot did there is a huge mistake and he should have died for it no joke
    its not a favoured matchup and he looses it and he couldnt even get
    but the darius started q and wasted it the moment he got to lane which is a huge mistake on the darius side
    he should have just walked up and once he sees urgot trying to contest he pops ghost and urgot becomes a free 400 gold first blood
    (WITH W START)
    7:20:
    the darius cancelled like 2 autos and could have killed the urgot so easily since he has ghost and he can even dodge his e and kite him where his passive isnt up literally the darius here is either autofilled or doesnt know the power of his champ so he rightfully looses BECAUSE HE MISSPLAYED
    but put in a situation where the two sides know the power of their champs and the darius would win every time
    now im not saying that its a matchup thing
    its certainly a factor but you if both players were human then the urgot can play safe until like 6 or 9 levels and wait for jungle and farm as urgot has a higher chance of winning at two items than at one against darius and it becomes a bit even after
    but youre literally playing off people's stupidity and act as if they wont understand shit
    and you get in the first game an urgot that missplays so hard its actually hard to watch and the next game you get a darius missplaying so hard i need bleach for my eyes if you were to say that they were both in gold or silver i would believe it cause the missplays in both of these games are just utter shit
    this is quite sad to watch as skill capped used to put out actually good content but now its just terrible
    this is quite sad to watch because i used to think skill capped as of on of the best educational content on youtube but now the quality has just dropped severely
