A feast for the eyes, first class axes that have stood the test of time. Not a bit of plastic to be seen on this nice bit of classic wood and steel axe. To use a North American Baseball phrase, you have “hit one out of the park.” Your best video in a long time as far as content that I am interested in. If I ever get to Finland again I will be taking the train to Ormattlia to buy a axe. Than you for showing us this axe, hope you had a Happy Winter Solstice.
It was well packed that axe 😂👍🏻. I've just received my Peltonen M95 the uncoated version, my first impressions are very good.👍🏻😁🏴 Looks a cracking axe that, I love the profile for carving.
Looks like a great axe and I look forward to seeing you test it. With that hat on you remind me of Bofur, one of the dwarves in The Hobbit. And I mean that in a nice way. Happy holidays to you and Unni!
Man, Tim, I'd love to take that to a tree for a test drive! It looks amazing to me. Love the lines of that thing. It looks like an amazing felling axe. Beauty!
Gorgeous axe would make a great carver ,bit thin for hard wood splitting, but for smaller tasks would be great, I recon. I can't wait for your long-term review ,,have a great Christmas brother, to you and yours ,God bless 🙏. Lee
Yes doesn't look much of a splitter, long thin bit and abrupt around the eye rather than a gentle taper. Will be great for felling and shaping of wood though. Thanks for watching Lee. God bless and happy Christmas.
Ha ha ! superb !! ..stabbing in the dark I'd say the costume was 'Snoopy dawg in waders !' 😉😁😂 The axe looks wonderful !! ..a really top work of craftsmanship !! .. however.. I spy with my beady little eye a 45 degree grain in the helve !! lol.. but that will still work.. unless I'm the operator.. I'll name that snapped handle in two Bob !! lol 😁 Woah indeed as far as sharpness goes.. awesome !! Merry Christmas Tim bro !! and blessings to you and the dear Unni beastie !! 🐾🐾
The Unni beast still working really hard this Christmas. Nearly 10 years old, she should be slowing down. Did you see the links in the comments. That should tell you it's not snoopy. Happy Crimbo mate
16 hour days at the moment 😂. I will be glad when Chrismass is over to be honest. That Santa dude brings everyone presents. He just brings us plane loads of tourists. Happy Christmas mate.
I wasn't familiar with the Finnish collared axe - very interesting. What are the advantages or trade offs of such an axe? I wonder. The new bearded axe has a familiar viking sense to it.
There is a certain ammont of protection against over strike and also it gives a very secure attachment to the haft and gives a little more protection when it comes to any twisting movements. I do have a playlist if you are interested. Both my videos and some others.
@@KuukkeliBushcraft thanks Tim, that all makes perfect sense, especially about the overstrike protection. How it looks is really the least important but it certainly makes an impression on the eye too.

Yes I can't wait, looking at it is giving me a real urge to build a viking long boat 😂.
Thanks for watching Jeff.

Rare Exports! Not what I was expecting 😂
The Ebay seller Mapsyst has a good version of the collared axe, have had one for a few years now and other than having to reset the head I love it.
I've been looking at them for a while, I'll get one one day.👍🏻
