the reason many "British" accents sound so wrong when people from outside the uk do them is because they mash together a jumbled mess of accents from across the country, so I'm really glad Kris made that distinction between regions. Scotland gets it the worst since media like braveheart perpetuated many stereotypes such as the blue warpaint which is around 1000 years out.
Braveheart is woeful but I think the movies that truly scunner me is Austin powers 'fat bastard' character and Shrek. We do not sound like that people!🤣
"They have 15 dialects" As an Irish woman can confirm ... And that's just here in Dublin! Seriously though lads why dose such a small island have more then the entire continent of North America? lol
Serious answer,it's because of the different plantations and attempted extinction of the Irish language. We had a small handful of dialects for Irish, but as the country was taken over at different rates, they developed accents differently. Then add in the rural to urban shift and your left with a couple hundred different accents.
MISSED THE OPPORTUNITY TO SAY “TOP OF THE MORNING TO YOU LADDIES” IN THE IRISH ACCENT😂😂😂😂😂😂 (For those of you who don’t know this is a JackSepticEye reference I know Irish people don’t say that)

Ehh it's a very stereotypical accent, although for that stereotypical accent you're right the A's are very good lol, not sure about the rest tho (Clarification: this is coming from an Australian)
@@danc893 Stereotypical, sure but not unheard of. She isn't quite there but there's definitely plenty of Aussies with the accent she's attempting to replicate. If anything, the Irwinesque accent is the common stereotype internationally, the first attempt feels like a hybrid of a few common Aussie accents which I guess fits under her "general" label. Kinda like how our default for US is California because it's more known here.
@@Keopro it's a very uncommon accent, it's more of a regional accent e.g. south australia and queensland which have much smaller populations than Victoria and New South Whales. Long John Silver lived in Bristol, England, supposedly the birthplace of Edward Teach, Blackbeard. In the early 1950s Disney produced films of “Treasure Island” (1950) and “Blackbeard the Pirate”(1952), and the same actor was used to play Silver and Teach - Robert Newton. Newton then reprised his role of Long John Silver for “Long John Silver” (1954) and the TV series “The adventures of Long John Silver (1955). Robert Newton was born and raised in Dorset, not far from Bristol, so he knew the West Country accent which Silver and Teach would have spoken in very well, and used it in those films.
As an Australian I have some tips for your future Aussie voices Turn “i” into “oi”: for example, “lime” becomes “loime” Turn a soft “a” into “eh”: for example, “cat” becomes “ceht” Turn a hard “a” into “aye”: for example, “state” becomes “st-aye-t” At the end of a word, “r” becomes “ah”: for example, “timer” becomes “toime-ah” You’re welcome Kris, I’m here till foive
Aussie too, the funny thing is I’m full on Australian yet I have a slight English accent and in year 2 I had an English teacher and she thought I was making fun of her. Random story. Have a nice day
You probably already know this but Aussie and Britain accents are the real accents and American accents are only like that because many different races adapted and we all adapted into our accents. I think that’s kinda right idk, also love Aussie accents.
I know most people sound like they’re taking the piss when they do an Irish accent but this was actually good. Ye could dedicate a whole fifteen minute video to doing different Irish regional accents though
She almost got the general Australian accent, we just add in a couple more swear words, at least two or three per sentence. Then add a little bit more. Then dump a truck full, replacing every word with a swear word. Perfect.
What?! No "laird tunderin' jesus!"? My fave Newfie line. Southern tho...I had who once exclaimed it was "hotter than hair on a frog" in S Georgia. I’m French Canadian haha although I am fluid and don’t have an accent, I’ve heard similar people but the accent of a real Quebecer is a lot different. It’s incredibly strong lol 😂
As a French Canadian I agree that we say “eh” a lot. I think that’s it’s a replacement for “right?” when we ask rhetorical questions. Good weather eh? You didn’t think about that, eh? Ect
as an irish person, i was really impressed! i'd say an irish accent is one of the hardest to do because there isn't just one standard irish accent. there's at least 2 per county lmfao, so it's hard to narrow it down to just one dialect to learn from. you did really well though, it was one of the best i've seen! most people completely butcher it and start saying 'top o the mornin to ya' and shite like that ahaha there were only a couple words that sounded a bit funky. the first time you said 'favorite' was absolutely perfect, but then you went into a slightly english twang the second time you did it, as well as on words like 'to' and 'so'. but you mastered what i call the 't whistle' (when a t sound at the end of a word gets drawn out so it's not abrupt and sounds more like a whistle or a sh sound). keep working on it, it sounds great!
Disclaimer: I love accents and envy anyone who can do multiple accents. She’s much better at them than me. Right: having said that, the Australian accent was shit.
As a person living in non-english speaking country with female president, who looks hella stunning, I really enjoyed this video and wish to speak english at least as good as Korg 😃 Grreetings from Slovakia 👋

“Heavens to Betsy! No woman would ever run for president, then she’d have to admit to being over 35.” Literally the best joke I have ever heard. Brava!!!
As a Californian you really freaking blew my mind making me realize that I and everybody I know talks with that slight raspiness in the voice (although not as extreme as yours for southern cali atleast) even the guys got a bit of it too but it’s a bit harder to tell if they got a deep voice but yeah holy crap that’s definetly the key to the accent
@@raptorbrotherhood766 The vocal fry aspect is an entirely separate thing from accent. I'm not even sure if California is where it started, but even if it's very common there, it's everywhere. There were bits that she got right for the part of Texas I'm from (which is still pretty good, but I wouldn't say she nailed it). I can't even do it myself; I've spent most of my life trying not to sound like a stereotypical southerner, so I'm definitely not knocking her. That's just not what people sound like, not 'round these parts anyway. Texas has so much land area that there are probably like 7 distinct Texan accents though, so maybe she was honed in to one of them, just not the ones I've lived around.
also from texas but closer the Louisiana border and I have one of the strongest accents in my family. I was raised between that border so my accent is a mix of both. the reason many "British" accents sound so wrong when people from outside the uk do them is because they mash together a jumbled mess of accents from across the country, so I'm really glad Kris made that distinction between regions.

Seriously though lads why dose such a small island have more then the entire continent of North America? lol
Here in sligo she was pretty accurate
galway accent is more the smallest bit of american and a light irish accent
Here in Cork we also have like 15 dialects XD
and even from one side of a county to another it can be almost impossible to understand lol
True there's at least 2 per county.
Eg: North Dublin, South Dublin. Cork, West Cork. But there's much more in most counties
Serious answer,it's because of the different plantations and attempted extinction of the Irish language. We had a small handful of dialects for Irish, but as the country was taken over at different rates, they developed accents differently. Then add in the rural to urban shift and your left with a couple hundred different accents.
I honestly think she's half Scottish, Aussie, Russian, etc. She's so talented when it comes to accents and impressions!

Robert Newton was born and raised in Dorset, not far from Bristol, so he knew the West Country accent which Silver and Teach would have spoken in very well, and used it in those films.

as an irish person, i was really impressed! i'd say an irish accent is one of the hardest to do because there isn't just one standard irish accent. there's at least 2 per county lmfao, so it's hard to narrow it down to just one dialect to learn from. you did really well though, it was one of the best i've seen! most people completely butcher it and start saying 'top o the mornin to ya' and shite like that ahaha
there were only a couple words that sounded a bit funky. the first time you said 'favorite' was absolutely perfect, but then you went into a slightly english twang the second time you did it, as well as on words like 'to' and 'so'. but you mastered what i call the 't whistle' (when a t sound at the end of a word gets drawn out so it's not abrupt and sounds more like a whistle or a sh sound). keep working on it, it sounds great!
all the Irish that I learned was from Jacksepticeye, so I'm not very knowledgeable of that accent.
