It was a full weekend of preparing the garden for the arctic blast we are having in the North Texas area. The temps have fallen into the low 20's (F) and we're actually getting snow. Typically, people use silage tarps. We did not have a silage tarp until recently and have been using heavy duty, UV resistant tarps that we got from Amazon (amzn.to/4htMYG2). It's nice because those tarps have lasted us for years - even though they have been out full time for multiple years now and are a good size (20'x20'). We tried some cheaper tarps, but they just don't last and fall apart pretty quickly. we're hoping the new silage tarp that we got will be able to stand up to the Texas weather (extreme heat in the summer).
