Thank you so much for this video Cassandra! You’re quickly becoming one of my favorite youtubers and I really appreciate how you’re not afraid to talk about stuff like mental health in your videos. I like your mindset about skincare, self care and health in general. The skincare community can be surprisingly “toxic” at times and your channel feels like a welcoming breath of fresh air that gets me excited and motivated about taking better care of myself and getting know my skin better, rather than shaming me into thinking I need to buy more products to “look better”.
Super important regarding meds: don’t stop medication without taking to your doctor. It worked for him and that’s good but you should always discuss your medication with your doctor before changing the dosage/stop it completely
Yes! Never stop a medication suddenly, you need to lower the dose slowly to avoid withdrawal symptoms, or if you notice you actually needed the medication! Going off any medication suddenly can be dangerous, and going off a medication you need even more so. I recently started lowering the dosage of a medication with my doctor and had to go to the ER the next weekend where a different doctor put the dosage back up, I can’t imagine what would’ve happened if I just went off of it completely.
Ice burns on the skin are rare, ice is given directly after, and applied on filler or Botox. There is nothing inherently wrong with putting ice on the skin and in fact, I myself as an aesthetician recommended to clients with acne
I would love to see a kumiko review or some more european brands 🙏🏻 I always see reviews for so many american brands that I can’t get since I live in spain :(
Yes! I watched this specifically to see what Cassandra thought of the ampoule. That may take time, like months, to see what she thought but could be a whole video, to me!
His skin care routine is a bit all over the place but he’s absolutely gorgeous so I guess it must be working for him, I remember when he was in Menudo and he had really bad acne. It would’ve been good for him to talk about how he cleared his skin up ✌🏼
What a beautiful inspiring video! I love skincare videos especially from you but my personal skincare routine is pretty basic! I fill my cup with having a good daily routine (eating well, working out, meditation, audiobooks on self care, alone time)
Wow! For me this is the most enjoyable and informative (in so many different ways) video. Thank you for your attention and promotion of cruelty free products. Thank you for your courage and strength raising mental health issues! And Ricky blew me away. What a beautiful soul! And YOU are also that beautiful soul. Great work on this video (& keeping it light and fun too). BIG thumbs up from a very happy viewer.💕🙏💖🤗
Could I humbly request a video on your favourite cruelty free + vegan skincare (moisturiser, face wash, oil cleanser, retinol, vit C, etc). I eat plant based but honestly that’s the easiest part 🥲
@@morgianasartre6709 yes, but she has so many videos that a condensed video of all the products she uses or even an example of a routine would be helpful.
I think she has a shop my shelf on the Web somewhere, but I do not know if that one is up to date. Would be great to know if there is something new in the videos that have been posted lately that is added to it.
She has a video from May, skincare products I keep buying over and over and over again. And yes, look at her shop my shelf page and even her amazon page.
would you ever rate/judge viewers skin care routine? idk i feel like it could be a cool format where viewers send you a list of their products with a describtion of their concerns/skin type and you help us with what's good or not? i just know that i would love it and could really use your opinion haha :)
So happy that I found you! Finding good cruelty free products has been a big deal for me for a few years now and I love Cruelty Free Kitty for their lists of cruelty free brands, but it was so hard to know which ones were actually worth buying. So it has been so awesome to find someone that uses intelligent, science based information, to point me in the right direction! Thank you so much!
This was by far one of my favourite celebrity skin care routines. such good energy, such good advise (mostly haha), for a celebrity really affordable prices aaaand he's a vegetarian. aghhh i love it
His energy is so warm and loving. You just get the sense that he's the sweetest, most attentive dad 🥰 And omg, Cassandra, THANK YOU for bringing up some of the reasons why going vegan may not work for every single person. With you being a passionate vegan, it's refreshingly honest and responsible of you. It's so rare to hear vegans addressing any potential problems with veganism, and I respect you that much more for it.
i hope to be happy one day again. hearing that you’ve been in the hospital helps. it feels like so many happy people have never felt real sadness, so i wondered if it was possible for me to not constantly battle myself. maybe it is.
I have been using a moisturiser that I like (it’s The Inkey List Vitamin B C E Moisturiser with a little bit of Sunday Riley A+ serum) around my eyes. For the rest of my face I use a moisturiser with salicylic acid and (+ The Inkey List niacinamide serum and The Ordinary’s alpha arbutin serum). And that might be a little too much for my eye area. But I’m gonna purchase The Inkey List retinol eye cream but you Cassandra say it is good for the whole face so that’s what I’ll be doing. ✌️😽💗
these are all really good products just be careful not to overdo it with the drying products!! i’m admittedly saying this as someone with very very dry and acne and eczema prone skin but make sure u introduce some soothing ingredients outside of the retinol to help with the dryness that comes with retinol
I enjoyed this video. U have a way that makes me learn more about skin care. I still want to learn about the ingredients that are hidden in products, the way our body works to get the nutrients...slowly I learn good and important things with you Cassandra
yes! i love the beach! i sometimes wonder if i’d be happier living near the beach, but where i live right now is the best for me at this time cuz i’m in a city and the beach and mtns are only 3 hours away.
HOLY SHIT. I have NEVER, EVER, EVER heard a skin care guru mention Trigeminal Neuralgia!! I have it and it makes caring for my skin so difficult, alot of days! I was already a fan of yours, but I am now a simp. Obsessed. 🥰💋
Cassandra, there are types of cholesterol we don’t know what problem he had. Familial hypercholesterolaemia is hereditary, not everything can be managed by food and exercise. Also embolism, cholesterol embolism, and trombosis are not the same. Blood thinning medication (eg Varfarin) is not statins etc.
Yeah, I am on the fence on this one *not a health care provider, this is not medical advice* Often when you start a vegetarian diet, it pushes you to eat more plant based (until you discover all the vegetarian/vegan processed, full of saturated fat and sugar, delicious snacks ^^) We don't know how he ate before that, maybe it wasn't balanced at all It is possible that his Dr. prescribed the meds WITH a lifestyle change because his situation was so worrying that he couldn't wait for the lifestyle change to kick in, or that he, himself, pushed to have medication Or any other scenario Cassandra, as you who work with physicians, I am a bit let down that you did not mention talking to your health care provider or pharmacist FIRST if you have side effects you are worried about and that you should never stop meds cold turkey on your own Otherwise, great video, thank you
Girl I loved this video you had me laughing from the beginning til the end 💀 😂 BTW I've been a member of your channel for at least a good year thanks for all of your lessons I've learned about in an economic way !
Rose water as a toner is so nice 😝 it's supposed to help with scarring and irritation (noticed an improvement with both) and it's also said to have mild cleansing properties? Not sure about this last one, but we use rose water to wash our new babies in my country so 😂 my sensitive skin loves it
@@muhammadzikri8492 never heard of cica! What is it? 🤔 Could your face react to rose water because it has some other additives? The one I use is the one meant for babies, so it only has rose water, a conservative and glycerin. I know my face hates tons of the additives in skincare out there 😣
Thank you Cassandra to share skincare information and explain pros and cons. I have wondering whether bakuchiol oil and blue tansy oil is beneficial to reduce acne, acne scars, sebum, and skin texture from your point of view (if there is any possible). Btw, your contents really improve my skin!
I didn’t knew you surf!!!!! Please I need a skin care routine for surfers, or sunscreen recommendation for surfers. I try my best but it’s difficult to protect your skin from the sun when you are in the water .
If ice and not taking meds works for him, it works for him. Everything doesn't have to be cookie cutter and as much as I rely on Western Medicine sometimes doctors get it wrong. Was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes and first suggestion was to put me on Metformin. No thank you. Exercise, low carb diet, Intermittent fasting and 10lbs weight loss later, blood sugar numbers are normal.
Just throwing it out there again, I’m curious to know your thoughts on animal testing for medical aesthetic procedures. You’re (YAY!) extremely vocal about your opinion on animal testing/use of animal products…. I haven’t seen anything regarding your daily practice though. How is testing done for medical aesthetic procedures, is it done on animals? How can we find out what procedures were built on a foundation of animal cruelty? Is your daily practice influenced by this?
Any of you who liked this comment, it would be awesome if we kept the conversation going. I know Cassandra can’t read all her comments but I believe that she could be super helpful on this. It would be amazing to get our issue addressed so we can be a little more comfortable going into our next treatment.
@@ineedabeachnow7205 I thought so, but I know how personal this issue is to Cassandra so I am wondering her opinion on this? Or if she only does procedures that haven’t been animal tested? Or maybe she got into the profession before her views on using cruelty free products evolved and maybe she continues to do the procedures because it’s her chosen profession and so moving forward she will do what she can?? I find this a really interesting subject and would love to hear back from her!
Honestly same here been really curious. I want to be an esthetician but I want to know how its like for medical esthetician’s ,I think she should do a video about this for sure like doing reviews on esthetician products if they are cruelty free, vegan etc. If they are actually good since she has a lot to say about brands, like how do we actually know if what my esthetician is using actually good and not a gimmick. Brands for example like: skinscript, bioelements, Eminence etc. Like what does she use in her job that is cruelty free etc.

Thanks for informing us of Mental Health , I've been in several Psych units and sectioned . My skin care is quite basic just Nivea for Men and sunscreen .
I am so happy you said it can exacerbate trigeminal neuralgia. I deal with that due to nerve damage. It's a horrible pain! I almost went for it, Ricky! 😱
When Ricky Martin started talking about becoming a vegan he really sold me on the health benefits. For once in my life I actually started to think giving this lifestyle a chance. Goes to commercial 5 minutes later and it's a commercial about barbecue crispy meat. I licked my lips and wrote down the restaurants info. Within those five minutes I completely forgot about my new "lifestyle"
Yeah i think the biggest advice is - pay attention to your body. For me when I was vegeterian my blood results where actually a lot worse than now when I eat meat 1-2 times per week. I got perfect blood results and I am happy i listened to my body and at least my vegeterian phase taught me to pay more attention to the quality of food and variability of it.
I have been vegetarian for several years now and I had the same problem at the beginning. I cut down sugar and eat lot of low glycemic index foods and my values are pretty great now.
@@frappalina I think you are onto sth, coz i do eat a lot of sugar. My issue is that I tried many times to cutdown the sugar, but I am just too dependent on it... I failed misrably every time. Not only is my discipine under the average, and my metabolism a bit too fast for my own good, I also have a very high stress job, which all leads me to intake of sugar...I got a bit better over the years but it seems I really have to go very slow and steady with this to reach my goal.. Coz a faster pace always caused me to fall back into my old habits once times got hard. So probably once I will finally defeat my sugar demons, I will try to go vegeterian or at least pescatarian again. Pray for me!! The Sugar Lord is strong.
Can you do a review of Plaine beauty products please! They have a subscription option where they pick up your used bottles and re-use them! They are cruelty free and vegan, certified B Corp, and carbon neutral! Super cool brand I’d love a review of the ingredients from a specialist though! 🙏🏼😬
I don’t have rosacea and ice works to reduce inflammation in my skin! I hear the warnings but I’ve been using it for years without any issue. Never experienced any burning I only do it for 30 seconds .
I have to drink alkaline water bc I have a bladder disease & if I prefer this to baking soda water. I’ve been doing it for like 6 yrs & I haven’t had any negative reactions. And yes, it was recommended to me by my urologist.
Sweet! I didn't know you surf! I do as well & it's one of my biggest skin challenges (hyper-pigmentation & living & surfing in Mexico! Yikes!)! I wear sunscreen everywhere I go - in & out of the ocean ... but finding products that help with hyper-pigmentation AND don't make my skin even more sun sensitive ... well it's a challenge for sure!!! Would love to hear more about tips on proven hyper-pigmentation solutions that DON'T involve AHAs and retinol & other sun sensitizing ingredients!! xoxo!
I remember back when I was in High School (2010), I put on my face EVERYTHING Beauty gurus advised (ice cubes for example) Everything I tried damaged my skin for YEARS. Please, don't follow trends :(

I recently started lowering the dosage of a medication with my doctor and had to go to the ER the next weekend where a different doctor put the dosage back up, I can’t imagine what would’ve happened if I just went off of it completely.
Haven’t thought about RM for years...what a fun guy he seems to be!
wow i really liked his very positive chill dad vibes
Ice burns on the skin are rare, ice is given directly after, and applied on filler or Botox. There is nothing inherently wrong with putting ice on the skin and in fact, I myself as an aesthetician recommended to clients with acne
the ending here was so lovely, thank you!
I didn’t think i could ever love Ricky any more, and CB proved me wrong.
One of my favorite concerts I ever been to - the gorgeous Ricky Martin ♥️🌹♥️
I love his video just because he seems so at peace. You can tell he loves his routine and it’s hypnotizing to listen to him.
I found the ampoule, it’s Kumiko as well; in the process I also found out that Ricky is a “partner” in Kumiko and owns part of the parent company
Oooh, I wonder if he should have disclosed that.
@@yvettebasson1243 I think he definitely have too. Does it say on the original video? If not he is not being honest.
I would love to see a kumiko review or some more european brands 🙏🏻 I always see reviews for so many american brands that I can’t get since I live in spain :(
You could check out UK/EU channels.
I fill my cup with having a good daily routine (eating well, working out, meditation, audiobooks on self care, alone time)
All. Of. This. Is. Everything! Me too.
I love how passionate you are about skincare Cassandra 🔥💘
Could I humbly request a video on your favourite cruelty free + vegan skincare (moisturiser, face wash, oil cleanser, retinol, vit C, etc). I eat plant based but honestly that’s the easiest part 🥲
Isn't everything she recommends already cruelty free and vegan?
@@morgianasartre6709 yes, but she has so many videos that a condensed video of all the products she uses or even an example of a routine would be helpful.
I think she has a shop my shelf on the Web somewhere, but I do not know if that one is up to date. Would be great to know if there is something new in the videos that have been posted lately that is added to it.
She has a video from May, skincare products I keep buying over and over and over again. And yes, look at her shop my shelf page and even her amazon page.
Watching Cassandra and doing my skincare makes my day better
would you ever rate/judge viewers skin care routine? idk i feel like it could be a cool format where viewers send you a list of their products with a describtion of their concerns/skin type and you help us with what's good or not? i just know that i would love it and could really use your opinion haha :)
Such a great idea!
Aw he is such a cool guy. 🥰
I love you Cassandra I'm happy to having you on TH-cam ❤❤❤❤
So happy that I found you! Finding good cruelty free products has been a big deal for me for a few years now and I love Cruelty Free Kitty for their lists of cruelty free brands, but it was so hard to know which ones were actually worth buying. So it has been so awesome to find someone that uses intelligent, science based information, to point me in the right direction! Thank you so much!
This was by far one of my favourite celebrity skin care routines. such good energy, such good advise (mostly haha), for a celebrity really affordable prices aaaand he's a vegetarian. aghhh i love it
His energy is so warm and loving. You just get the sense that he's the sweetest, most attentive dad 🥰
And omg, Cassandra, THANK YOU for bringing up some of the reasons why going vegan may not work for every single person. With you being a passionate vegan, it's refreshingly honest and responsible of you. It's so rare to hear vegans addressing any potential problems with veganism, and I respect you that much more for it.
A vlog about you doing beach day stuff ,surfing ,eating and or fun stuff would be super fun
Reacting to routines is my fav ❤️
Yaasss skincare and body care is AMAZING 😍😍😍
Let's give him props for also using a lot of more affordable products then most celebs
Thank you for approving and talking about the sensory experience being important to some people! I feel like its so looked down at
i hope to be happy one day again. hearing that you’ve been in the hospital helps. it feels like so many happy people have never felt real sadness, so i wondered if it was possible for me to not constantly battle myself. maybe it is.
Wishing you peace ❤
You mentioned Dr Dray, I'd love an updated Dr Dray made me buy it!!!! Thanks for the upload!
3:26 a little correction to the video: urine being 6 on the ph scale makes it acidic, not alkaline
Normal urine pH is usually 4.5 to 6 ... So , I think it's not that incorrect 🙂
@@samsunnaharbeauty8109 yes, but at that pH you would call it acidic not alkaline. That's the point of Matka Matuláková :)
I just found your channel, and I love your energy so much!
Don’t you love when you see celebrities using the same ingredients as you, but your products cost hundreds less???
@@Jezebel066 Jaa! 😸of course!
these are all really good products just be careful not to overdo it with the drying products!! i’m admittedly saying this as someone with very very dry and acne and eczema prone skin but make sure u introduce some soothing ingredients outside of the retinol to help with the dryness that comes with retinol
@@katelynsousa6591 💗🙏Thank you
@@rosemary5005 ofc i just don’t want someone else to have to struggle with some of the bad shit that i did
Love you and your videos! They’re so helpful. 😭❤️
He looks dang good! 💖
This video answered so many questions about alkaline what doctors could not. Big thanks!!
It’s the Kiehls Ferulic antioxidant facial treatment. I got it two weeks back from Sephora & I love it!!
I'd love to see a video on more of this weird and interesting ancient skincare methods.
The ampoule he used is the Kumiko Matcha Intense Recovery-Proteoglycans Plus
We need a short video of Cass just quickly saying the names of various products from Amazon. Too funny. Maybe TikTok
yes! She so cutely butchers all of the names
HOLY SHIT. I have NEVER, EVER, EVER heard a skin care guru mention Trigeminal Neuralgia!! I have it and it makes caring for my skin so difficult, alot of days! I was already a fan of yours, but I am now a simp. Obsessed. 🥰💋
He has a really soothing talking voice
The product that he used that promotes collagen production is match intense recovery proteoglycans plus
😩 he’s so sweet.
18:13 I really love your face expression, I felt it
Cassandra, there are types of cholesterol we don’t know what problem he had. Familial hypercholesterolaemia is hereditary, not everything can be managed by food and exercise. Also embolism, cholesterol embolism, and trombosis are not the same. Blood thinning medication (eg Varfarin) is not statins etc.
Yeah, I am on the fence on this one
*not a health care provider, this is not medical advice*
Often when you start a vegetarian diet, it pushes you to eat more plant based (until you discover all the vegetarian/vegan processed, full of saturated fat and sugar, delicious snacks ^^)
We don't know how he ate before that, maybe it wasn't balanced at all
It is possible that his Dr. prescribed the meds WITH a lifestyle change because his situation was so worrying that he couldn't wait for the lifestyle change to kick in, or that he, himself, pushed to have medication
Or any other scenario
Cassandra, as you who work with physicians, I am a bit let down that you did not mention talking to your health care provider or pharmacist FIRST if you have side effects you are worried about and that you should never stop meds cold turkey on your own
Otherwise, great video, thank you
Girl I loved this video you had me laughing from the beginning til the end 💀 😂 BTW I've been a member of your channel for at least a good year thanks for all of your lessons I've learned about in an economic way !
Rose water as a toner is so nice 😝 it's supposed to help with scarring and irritation (noticed an improvement with both) and it's also said to have mild cleansing properties? Not sure about this last one, but we use rose water to wash our new babies in my country so 😂 my sensitive skin loves it
I have sensitive skin and rose water makes my face red & itchy 😩 cica water is better
@@muhammadzikri8492 never heard of cica! What is it? 🤔
Could your face react to rose water because it has some other additives? The one I use is the one meant for babies, so it only has rose water, a conservative and glycerin. I know my face hates tons of the additives in skincare out there 😣
Now I’m not sure if I have a bit of a crush on Ricky or I want him to adopt me.
You're such a BEAUTIFUL PERSON ❤❤❤
Thank you Cassandra to share skincare information and explain pros and cons. I have wondering whether bakuchiol oil and blue tansy oil is beneficial to reduce acne, acne scars, sebum, and skin texture from your point of view (if there is any possible). Btw, your contents really improve my skin!
I didn’t knew you surf!!!!! Please I need a skin care routine for surfers, or sunscreen recommendation for surfers. I try my best but it’s difficult to protect your skin from the sun when you are in the water .
Right now I'm transitioning to a more plant based diet this means vegetarian or vegan 6 days a week and a small serving of fish once a week 😊
I'm pretty sure fda requires animal testing for medical procedures and prescription medication before it's approved for human use.
Heyyy ur the best!!!
Ur like my skin care godmother cause my mom does not believe in skin care and so I watched ur videos and learn how to layer I live in India.

I agree about eye creams but let me tell you something. I use them since I was 22 ( mostly eye fluids and gels)

I've been dying for you to do this video- THANK YOU!!!
When you mentioned people putting diapers on their face it reminded me of a friend I had in highschool. Her family had flawless skin. She told us her mother swore by urine masks for the whole family. This all makes sense now. I won't be partaking but it makes sense now!

The tiny bottles that help collagen...are from KUMIKO....again! Lol I screen shotted him holding it and zoomed in.
Used use on my face for years, it is very refreshing
When Ricky Martin started talking about becoming a vegan he really sold me on the health benefits. For once in my life I actually started to think giving this lifestyle a chance. Goes to commercial 5 minutes later and it's a commercial about barbecue crispy meat. I licked my lips and wrote down the restaurants info. Within those five minutes I completely forgot about my new "lifestyle"
Curious, do you have any recommendations for an aging lady who is noticing her skin on her neck become more loose and wrinkly looking?
Totally continue to spread and push about MATTER cruelty free
A HUGE TUMBS UP FOR THAT!
I love necessaire so much!
I wonder if some of these people ever see or comment on ur reactions lol. I think he would happy for ur advice. Great video!
Yes! I've been waiting for this 💕
I love Love Ricky Martin 😘♥️♥️😍

Would love to hear more about tips on proven hyper-pigmentation solutions that DON'T involve AHAs and retinol & other sun sensitizing ingredients!! xoxo!
I remember back when I was in High School (2010), I put on my face EVERYTHING Beauty gurus advised (ice cubes for example)
Everything I tried damaged my skin for YEARS. Please, don't follow trends :(
