Interesting term “Chirp friendly”. I have a Tidradio (the 10 watt one) that’s been sitting around for a couple of months. I decided to load some repeaters in anticipation of a road trip. Thankfully Chirp worked.
I guess this buttons depend how you program them this is only default. I would suggest changing your preset freq edges also as most of those dont correspond to the uk if thats where you are. You dont need to hit the menu to ajust the squelch either as default just uses button 1 & 2 for up down. Set your groups also and allocate your memories as u may find out out mem up/down wont move anything if you select the front setting in F*
Tell me if thats better than Egzumer ;) I have that on my radio, but i just bought another UVK5. I believe that UVK6 is the same, and compatible with these firmwares, right?
Today is the 1st April 2024. I just swapped out the firmware on one of my K5s from 2.9r5 to 3.12 which was just released today. Playing around with it for an hour and I noticed it has TX enabled on 11m sideband - which is not good. I love IJV and I'm sure they will improve on these early releases of this firmware. I had a couple of instances of errors and bugs with the display so 8 don't think it's quite stable yet. In any case personally I am staying with IJV for the time being because the scope on egz means nothing to me. Looking forward to the next release, I think it's going to be difficult to keep up with for a while..
Didn't seem to work properly for me on uvk5/8 . Keyboard shortcut for mode change didn't work and couldn't receive a signal at all, just a low hiss. The only thing that worked well was the inverted backlight which O really like but had to revert o version 2.95RS
Has anyone tested DSB mode on an oscilloscope to see if the carrier wave is suppressed? The developers describe DSB as being "emulated" with the IJV mod.
My presets are blank just get .M and ---------- ? also i had to set the radio to extended menu to get slide 1l and slide 1s to enable the preset menu and if i press and hold 0(FM) then i get the menu for ssb etc
I loaded it on chirp but couldn't load au/nz UHF cb radio channels from chirp to the radio, gave an error NFM mode not supported? It worked fine when EGZ firmware?
Please do , try to load the stock config for au/nz citizen band radio from chrip , it will give an error for not able to load NFM @@HamTechRadioScannerDrones
I tried this firmware and noticed i can't scroll trough all my saved channels with the arrow keys. The keys work perfectly in VFO or menu's, but as soon as i go to the memory list, they stop responding. Is this a bug or am i doing something wrong? (as you are showing arond 4 minutes in the video)
I was able to fix this bug by first flashing another Firmware to it, Full Reset, and reflash IJV 3.0 with another Full Reset. Full Reset without changing Firmwares didn't work.
@@kenroberts9943 It's a bit confusing as the filtering is also a separate option of wide, wide+, narrow, narrow -. It's more or less locking down the Wide mode.
No, this is for the factory version of the radio. The hardware mod with the add on daughter board (some components removed and a very small one added) is different and has it's own software which gives you HF receive - with an appropriate antenna.
Amazing ..thanks for the review . The modifications for these are getting crazy .
No problem 👍
So refreshing to have firmware developed by someone who clearly knows what it is to operate a radio.
Yes although Quanshenng did very well .
These Quanshengs are my favorite HT ever. So highly configurable
Lots to explore very low price and good quality .

Hi great tips thanks
I was gonna put in egzumer on one of my K6's tomorrow. Now I'll have to try this one out, too!🍻🤠
I need to learn more .

@@drakeblackk I have the EGzumer on mine and the IVG seems much better for ease of use and capabilities.
@@jefflowe2377 I checked the list on IJV today, and egzumer has much more to offer i guess
Wow, I need to try this firmware. Thx for sharing.

Fun trying .
Thanks for the tutorial. FYI CHIRP does not currently support v3.0
There is a video showing them using software .

I hope they increased channel scan speed or do so in the future.
It's a budget set

Seems advanced stuff .
You think you can do the hardware mod ?
Yes pic in the instructions .
@@HamTechRadioScannerDrones Hmm with those very tiny components ? Good luck then !
Flashed ijv 3 but when i press and hold side button no frequency list pop up on screen?
Yes hold it try a few times .
I have IJV MOD V-3.13 but nothing happens when holding down that button. Any reason why?
More info please
Nice firmware. The Quanshengs that i receive from Ali come with a tilted screen. Is this a common situation in this radio?
Never seen that

I flashed with egzumer without any bscking up. Are the calibration files gone?
Yes i have done the same thing many times seems ok - lol

Yes go.for it it's free lol .
Is the WFM for broadcasting your own FM radio station?
Broadcast
@@HamTechRadioScannerDrones I didn't know there was a difference between FM commercial radio stations and FM modulation used on say UHF.
FM commercial broadcast is WFM, that is, wide FM. All other is FM, that is except the AM aircraft band. @@JimmyCall

No
was this loaded over the Egzumer?
I assumed when the new firmware goes on it wipes the previous but yes went over egzumer but I have 6 UV k5 Radios to experiment with.
@@HamTechRadioScannerDrones Thank You Dont have 6 but did purchase a few.. Even the stock radio is amazing...

Good question .
The Firmware your thinking of is 'CEC_041.HF.packed' that you install along with the 'Si4732 new chip module to get the Full HF band mod' working.
How much?
