Real Love - The Beatles - Full Instrumental Cover

- I'm back!
Over the past few months of this strange, disorienting COVID-19 experience, I've been slowly reengaging with recording music. This is my first complete effort, a full instrumental cover of one of my favorite Beatles songs, "Real Love." Put a lot of work into figuring this one out. It's a hell of a lot more complicated than it sounds!
Hope everyone is safe and healthy out there. I want to do a few more of these. Hope this brought a smile to at least a few faces.
Also, isn't this a great song? John hadn't lost his touch at all.

2:58 that guitar line gets me every time I hear it, Real Love is by far my favourite Beatles song there is and this guitar bit just completes it. Absolutely spot on cover dude, amazing work as always!
Love that riff. One of the best parts of putting this cover together was uncovering and learning it. Always gave me chills listening to it on the record.

they published it in 1996, in the brit pop era. And they sought that sound, and they got high level brit pop. Full of good decisions. Memorable melodies. Great job Michael!

That is my favorite element of the song, wish it wasn't as buried in the official mix, it gives the final chorus this burning/searing/ aching sound that just grabs my heart every time. As time has gone on, the more I listen to Real Love, and it's simple beautiful message, it may be my favorite Beatles song, and in its message and lore, maybe their best.

It really is! Can’t believe it
I remember vividly the time when the song was released in early 1996; it feels just like yesterday. In fact it's 26 years ago.
The last chorus and outro move me like no other piece of music. The guitars are absolutely perfect. There is something truly special about this song. There is so much detail and every piece matters and plays an integral part to the song as a whole and adding that magic and emotional feeling to it. The music truly brings emotions out in me.

Lennon disliked hotshot guitarists, unless they were the legends of his youth, or a few of his contemporaries.
The Fabs did him justice to resurrect this { with Jeff Lynn's help } and so did you.

Cuando salió este tema como parte del volúmen 2 de la Antología en el año '96, recibí una copia del álbum como un regalo que George Harrison me habia enviado por correo. Venía con una nota (escrita y firmada por el propip Harrison) que decía en inglés "El primer tema de este nuevo volúmen te hsrá emocionar". Lo escuché en mi antiguo trabajo en IBM junto a algunos compaleros, pusimos el CD en el reproductor y... ¡fué jodidamente emocionante oir algo nuevo de los Beatles despues de casi 30 años! Recuerdo que gritamos de la emoción cuando llegó la parte del solo de guitarra, incluso yo mismo lloré emocionado. A los pocos días de su salida no paraba de escuchar este tema, esta vez en su versión como sencillo.
Agradezco mucho que hagas este cover, me trsjiste de vuelta a aquel año 1996. ¡Sos un genio Mike, seguí así!

The how to play like John Lennon video inspired me to play hard, the George Harrison video I never forgot, yet I cannot thank you enough, along with the fab four themselves, and a music teacher I had for introducing me to the Beatles in the first place. Thanks for the kind words! It's funny - my Beatles inspiration came from the Beatles Anthology, which originally aired back in the mid-nineties. That was my first exposure to this wonderful music. Even though "Real Love" is the last Beatles song recorded, it's one of the first ones I heard and really loved (no pun intended). It set me on my path of loving this music. The articulation of every nuance that stood out to me when this came out in the Anthology is fantastic. Listening to this puts me right into the Beatles video, especially picturing George on his black guitar in the studio.
So good to see you making videos again. Back in 2009-2010 when I was first beginning to learn how to play guitar, your videos served as a huge inspiration to really learn how to play the guitar and made me realize how interesting John and George's guitar parts were isolated. I'll definitely be subscribing for any future content!
It was actually PAUL and George on guitars; John only played the piano.

This is incredibly impressive, and the attention to detail is top notch! The only thing I would say is that the guitar solos were played with a slide, and is a signature of Harrison’s sound during his late Beatles/solo years.

This is wonderful. This song is so difficult to get a grip on because of how low quality some of the tracks are (no disrespect, they really did their best) and this really brings to light some of the great qualities that the original had a hard time doing. Thank you for sharing this!
When I started to play guitar in 2009 or 2010, you were the first guitar teacher for me. I couldn't imagine what John and George are playing in the CD, but you gave me many chords and phrases, moreover, you told me how cool it is to play the guitar. Those days when I learned guitar with your videos, was my fundamental part of my life with my guitar. I'm so excited to watch your videos again, and they bring me back in my beginner days. Even though John had completed most of the song and "The Three-tles" said they felt like John's sidemen adding their instruments without contributing much to the song itself I feel they did a hell of a job, in fact I prefer Real Love, Free As A Bird not so much, I love ❤ Real Love !!! I remember feeling underwhelmed in the 90s on hearing RL but i like it much more now. It's fascinating to hear how M S with his much greater understanding of music found this song deceptively hard. I also think the nostalgia of the official video adds to the song.
