I'm not sure if it's available on Series X and S, because I don't have the current gen console, but it might be. It could be that the purchases have just been disabled on the 360 consoles.
Emulation is DARN important for preservation. Most game companies (especially publishers) don't care much for legacy support or give BC options to gamers.
Nintendo would make bank if they would just release older games for sale again, most people only pirate because they can't afford to take out a second mortgage and 6 loans to purchase 1 NES game.

The Avatar store doesn’t work, it is probably to maintain access to owned items. If you try to buy anything you would get the same error as you get when you try to buy anything from the game store that is still available, but a bit hidden. You go to a game in your library and push Y to search, and then you can search for any game, and if you own it you can download it to your console.

*Full retail purchases were rarely if EVER cheaper via the Xbox 360 marketplace than via physical secondhand product. And this is coming from someone who used his 360 as his primary console from 2008-2023. I made plenty of digital purchases throughout my tenure, but only bought full retail releases digitally on a select few occasions (Asura's Wrath, Midway Arcade Origins, and Metro 2033 and Metro Last Light).

Would've been too much of a time sink full of repetition, and honestly the free-roam combat sections weren't my favorite. Kinda wish I had snagged all the DLC when it was on sale however as one of them contains the "true ending". It's too bad they never released an edition with all the DLC printed on-disc for preservation sake.

As an RGH 360 owner, I recommend the CFW PS3 for emulators. The homebrew scene is far more developed on the PS3 but I still recommend the 360 for the backups of multiplatforms/exclusives of that era and backwards compatible og Xbox games. PS3 is better for its own exclusives, homebrew emulators and PS1/PS2 games.
I appreciate the highlight! FYI, the missing cover image and weird names is just how the author released the game - same as if you downloaded the game and manually installed them. Covers could be made for them and added though.
If people had left game preservation to the companies that owned the games, we’d have no games preserved. We’ve seen how they treat games from the terrible remasters.
All i really want is full emulatable access to the entire classic Xbox library, on pc or via the Series. Especially for whatever's missing on Gamepass and the compatability list
xenia is currently being worked on ive been tweaking xenia on dev mode to run my own games i've ripped from my own discs some have played well, others like minecraft story mode will freeze the emulator But i feel xenia is a start its also on pc if that fits better for you
@Jokerwolf666 i heard it's impossible because of the way the security check works on Xbox, it literally sends a jolt of electricity at the right time to make sure it checks properly, and a hard mods send it at the exact time, and there doesn't seem to be a way to do this without hardware to do it.

Yeah the latest gen having no exclusives was a death sentence. Xbox One was bad for a lot of reasons, the exclusive problem didn't get that bad until a bit into the One's life

It sucks you have to hard mod it. It's usually the hard modded only systems that most people won't get which in turn means the homebrew scene won't be as good. Like soft modded systems like Xbox, Wii, 3DS, and PS Vita all have some really cool stuff in their homebrew.
I prefer hardmodding. It keeps the casuals out of the market. Otherwise you have every youtuber/influencer telling you how to jailbreak it and pirate ROMs, then companies sue and things get shut down. Because it goes from emulation and preservation, to just pure piracy.

I suspect the slowdown during the showing of Spyro might have come from the USB drive itself. Might have been better if it was stored on the internal drive

I'm hoping this will restart the free60 community. I saw they put out the ubuntu live cd on the homebrew store though it's basically useless now with no SSL support. There are still some issues to figure out like spin-lock on the CPU.

yeah but that still means for all of us who didnt know about the game store closing means were pretty much forced to homebrew to get most games, and the arcade/indie section especially if you're me and you live in a remote area hours away by commercial jets from city's and or just any community connected by road to the white mans land, ie Caniapiscau connects to the rest of canada but no other community in nunavik does. mail is extremely expensive and it costs more in shipping to get mail flown up here than it does in product prices
Yes, playing OG 360 and Arcade games.. However, because it's an offline only system there will be no time stamp. If you want your RGH to go online you need to look into a st*alth server, paid.

We have so many emulation PC option to choose from now that jailbreaking old consoles is thing of the past. I would say DS and 3DS are exception due to many game using 2nd touch screen that doesn’t work smoothly on emulator.

An RGH modded 360 can remove the blacklist that prevented some original Xbox games from launching on the system. However, compatibility on these blacklisted games is very much hit or miss. Some of them work fine and were probably only left off the list for licensing reasons, while others have severe emulation glitches or outright crash the console. You'd have to research the specific games you want to play, for some of them you may have better luck trying to play them on PC through Xemu or Cxbx Reloaded.
I have this lingering feeling that we are at the end of something great. Like soon, gaming will be forevermore changed even more for the worst. Idk i think its just lost hope.... i dont see it getting better
so glad i dont have to download roms from sites in europe and asia with very slow times and sometimes the rom is corrupted and then you have to have a flash drive big enough to hold the roms and then you have to go to xex and either run it from the flashdrive or put it in the hard drive which takes forever since its being done on the xbox 360 transferring every single file now its gonna be like 3ds or ps3 where you just click download on any game and then it just downloads then the game works sometimes it comes with translation if it wasnt originally english
Give it a 3-5 years, Xbox will have caught up & more imo. I think there's eventually gonna be a soft mod found for it, once that happens and the price to entry is zero there's gonna be a flood of new people willing to try it out & dev for it.
I'm still waiting for the day when we can easily hack our consoles without installing a chip or opening it up. I hope we get a plug in and play solution soon.
Well if you want to play the games without achievements and play them like Nintendo that’s fine but if you try to sign into your Xbox account and get caught playing games you don’t own earning achievements you might get band that’s what I’m worried about I’m not afraid doing this to my PS2 original Xbox or any Nintendo consoles that don’t have trophies or achievements but I’ll never do this to my PS3 Xbox 360 I’ll stay safe Microsoft Sony can banned the account they did it to other people accounts they are watching you when your playing

Geometry Wars 2 on Steam Deck is my dream 360 title off that machine. Unfortunately it emulated doesn’t run as good (yet) 😭

What’s not dead is the games that’s playable on the Xbox one store that’s backwards they are purchasable on the 360 and dlc that’s it if you try buying a game that’s not playable on the Xbox one it won’t let you buy it or download it I bought all those before the 360 market closed I have no problem
yeah but that still means for all of us who didnt know about the game store closing means were pretty much forced to homebrew to get most games, and the arcade/indie section especially if you're me and you live in a remote area hours away by commercial jets from city's and or just any community connected by road to the white mans land, ie Caniapiscau connects to the rest of canada but no other community in nunavik does.

Yes, playing OG 360 and Arcade games.. However, because it's an offline only system there will be no time stamp. If you want your RGH to go online you need to look into a st*alth server, paid.

Honestly, i dont care they no longer have the store online. Get the physical games if u find them cheap or just download the roms and play. Its not pirating if it cant be bought right?

Nope. There is a Tony hawk save glitch that can softmod the console, but it requires a very old dash firmware from 2005 or 2006.

We have so many emulation PC option to choose from now that jailbreaking old consoles is thing of the past. I would say DS and 3DS are exception due to many game using 2nd touch screen that doesn’t work smoothly on emulator.

An RGH modded 360 can remove the blacklist that prevented some original Xbox games from launching on the system. However, compatibility on these blacklisted games is very much hit or miss. Some of them work fine and were probably only left off the list for licensing reasons, while others have severe emulation glitches or outright crash the console. You'd have to research the specific games you want to play, for some of them you may have better luck trying to play them on PC through Xemu or Cxbx Reloaded.

so glad i dont have to download roms from sites in europe and asia with very slow times and sometimes the rom is corrupted and then you have to have a flash drive big enough to hold the roms and then you have to go to xex and either run it from the flashdrive or put it in the hard drive which takes forever since its being done on the xbox 360 transferring every single file now its gonna be like 3ds or ps3 where you just click download on any game and then it just downloads then the game works sometimes it comes with translation if it wasnt originally english

Give it a 3-5 years, Xbox will have caught up & more imo. I think there's eventually gonna be a soft mod found for it, once that happens and the price to entry is zero there's gonna be a flood of new people willing to try it out & dev for it.

As far as ps1 emulation, idk why but some games run better on different versions of the psx emulators as well as different settings

No, it's an Aurora script. Could just copy Aurora to your hard drive and run it from FSD like it's an app, and then run the script

Well if you want to play the games without achievements and play them like Nintendo that’s fine but if you try to sign into your Xbox account and get caught playing games you don’t own earning achievements you might get band that’s what I’m worried about I’m not afraid doing this to my PS2 original Xbox or any Nintendo consoles that don’t have trophies or achievements but I’ll never do this to my PS3 Xbox 360 I’ll stay safe Microsoft Sony can banned the account they did it to other people accounts they are watching you when your playing

The Kinect is still a Thing on the Xbox one, but they got rid of it Completely with the Release on the Xbox Series.
