Yet the New Testament clearly states “Repent AND be baptized” and Jesus was baptized, full water immersion, by John the Baptist, his cousin. And 3,000+ souls were baptized on the day of Pentecost as stated in Acts 2:36-47. And if Jesus, Himself, walked in obedience to baptism and Yahweh spoke from heaven “This is My Son in whom I am well pleased”.

I was saved at 7 yrs old. I was taught water B wasn’t necessary. BUT at the age of 52 when I WAS water B, something inside really changed me. Zero regrets and so happy I honored the Lord.

Love it, can you share more on why you felt that way? Or what things changed for you? I’m looking to get baptized at 28. I searched this video cus I felt guilty about not getting baptized yet, My parents for some reason only baptized my older brother as an infant and I always used that as an excuse, but as a man I feel it’s on me now. lol like I’m scared if I got hit by a bus tomorrow that god might be disappointed in me for never being baptized as an adult . I’ve accepted Christ into my heart and try to thank him every night with my full heart for sacrificing his only son for me so I could have a relationship with him. But I still feel guilty for not doing the works like baptism.
Also did you do full water immersion at 52 but not at 7? I’ve heard people talking about how the voice of the Holy Spirit was clearer and louder after full water baptism. I’ve also heard others say the bad voice of temptation got quiter, similar to the story about the devil fleeing from Jesus. Did that happen too or am I just guessing? Would love to hear your experience

There are scriptures in the NT that talks about the need for baptism for remission of sins. Mark 16:16, Eph 2:8-9, Matthew 28:19-20, Acts 2:38, Acts 22:16 What about those? Why did John the Baptist and Jesus's apostle baptize then? John 4:1-2.

Your whole self ruled by the flesh was put off when you were circumcised by Christ, having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through your faith in the working of God, who raised him from the dead. When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, having canceled the charge of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; he has taken it away, nailing it to the cross.“

Let us cling onto the bible and the bible alone. The bible teaches us that Faith and Baptism are both required for salvation as seen in several scriptures: Mk. 16:16, Matthew 28:19, John 3:5, 1 Peter 3:21, Acts 2:38, etc. Of course, there are verses when only faith is mentioned: John 3:16, Ephesians 2:8-9, Romans 3:28, etc. However, this bible verses are not in contradiction to the ones mentioned earlier rather are they in harmony. The second one mentions only faith but doesn't deny the necessity of baptism. They both emphasize one thing in common i.e. "faith" however, as it is seen in some verses that Baptism is also necessary, we cannot just ignore it. We dont have to overcomplicate things, the scriptures made it clear that both faith and baptism in necessary. It is because of the "man made(non divine)" doctrines made by theologians like John Calvin that debate on this matter occur. It is upto us to us to believe what the bible tells us or to believe in theologians.

There’s no place in the Bible where the scripture says that Baptism is just a public declaration of our faith, those are lies made by many pastors. Also, people like to bring up the thief on the cross, forgetting that the thief on the cross not only was dying with Jesus but was not looking back to the death and resurrection of Christ like us.
Below are few verses about Baptism:
For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
    Galatians 3:26-27
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.
    Matthew 28:19-20
The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
    1 Peter 3:21
Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
    Acts 2:38
He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
    Mark 16:16
Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
    John 3:5
And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.
    Acts 22:16
Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
    Romans 6:3
Now when all the people were baptized, it came to pass, that Jesus also being baptized, and praying, the heaven was opened, And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased.
    Luke 3:21-22
For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.
    1 Corinthians 12:13
Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?
    Acts 10:47
When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.
    Acts 19:5-6
And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.
    John 1:33
Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.
    Acts 2:41
Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.
    Acts 19:4
Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost.
    Titus 3:5
Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.
    Hebrews 6:1-2

Ephesians 2:8-10 (KJV) For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Not of works, lest any man should boast.
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

    Baptism IS necessary for salvation.
Not water baptism, but baptism into Christ by trusting in Him alone for forgiveness and eternal life. Why do teachers neglect to teach about ALL of the various baptisms in scripture? Everyone focuses on the least important, and they don't teach nearly enough on the most important. Water baptism is only an outward act and a sign. Baptism into Christ is purely spiritual and within.
This kind of shortcoming has led to the establishment of denominations and much more division within the Body of Christ.

    • @jrrh63

There is nothing about anything Jesus did “least important”! Everything he did was intentional and full of purpose! Jesus said he came to fulfill scripture and do all that the Father instructed of him to do which is the will of the Father. (“I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.”
‭‭John‬ ‭5‬:‭30‬ ‭KJV‬‬). So are we to do the will of the Father. Jesus was water baptized, therefore it was the will of the Father that he be water baptized. It is also the will of the Father that we be water baptized. There is NO scripture that can be considered “least important”! “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: that the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.”

I have been asking God to help me know if we are supposed to read the apocrypha (lost books) since Luther removed them in the 1800s, and the Bible says not to remove or add to it! How was it ok for him to make the decision to remove them? Why do some churches around the world still have them in their bible but we don't? I pray that God closes my eyes and ears to what I'm not supposed to know. But I find it troubling that the book of Enoch was removed, but Enoch was so close to God that he never even died! God called him into heaven, but we aren't supposed to have his book in the Bible?
I pray that this comment does not cause anyone to stray from the word, or to question God's word! I'm searching for guidance from the Holy Spirit.

Yes, because Jesus Christ himself showed us how important it was for us to have that close relationship with God. It is part of our walk with Christ, it’s not only to show the world we are Christ followers, but to have a more intimate Spiritual relationship with God. As you read in the Bible people got baptized, and spoke in Spiritual tongues. If it’s in the Bible it is what Christ commanded us to do as believers. You must be born again(spiritual birth), God will put in your heart to be baptized, He will also give you many spirituality gifts as He did to the early church. Read your Bibles, and ask the Lord to show you why you need to be baptize, why you need the gifts of the Holy Spirit, why you need to fast, why prayer is so important, and why ministry is important. He gave us the tools to be able to see the needs of our spiritual walk with Him. Read, read, and read the word of God, and He will show you.

This is so interesting because I was baptized as an infant in the Catholic church which I have not been a Catholic, my grandparents were. Because Catholics believe you can’t go to heaven unless baptized, they baptize asap after birth just in case. But it wasn’t my “public” affirmation to Jesus right. I was like a week old. But now as 50 yr old born again, I do not feel convicted to be baptized. Sit next to me, I’ll tell ya all about Jesus, I have a TH-cam channel all about the Lord, I am committed. But I’m not comfortable being dunked in pool with strangers cheering for me. That just feels so disingenuous for me.
I take it to the Lord often as I will do it right now if He commands it but the Holy Spirit is just meh about it.
It feels like it is up to the individual on how they show the world that they worship Jesus. Discernment and prayer is the key in this issue. Listen to the Lord He will tell you what He wants.

@@jrrh63 Thank you for the response. I totally understand what you are saying and I wonder this myself as well. But then if I were to remain legalistic as you’re suggesting, then the box has already been checked off because I was baptized at birth.
I’m trying to have a relationship with the Lord that goes beyond the legalism and that was the point of my post.
You’re right, God came to earth to not only save us but redirect the Hebrews from their legalism. Are we not being the same demanding/insisting/convicting of others with things such as baptism? Scaring people that if they do not do things exactly our way, then their salvation is void? The thief on the cross was saved by Jesus Himself and he was not baptized.
Naturally we should be baptized and want to do so! And we’re directed to do so but I don’t feel the Holy Spirit convicting me. He convicts me of a lot LOL trust me! I know His voice 🤦🏽‍♀️ I’m a work in progress but He is not convicting me of baptism in a hot tub at a church of 200 people. 🤷🏽‍♀️
I mean no disrespect, I’m just sharing that we all don’t fit in the legalistic box and that’s ok as long as you’re in direct relationship with the Lord. Daily. Lovingly. Listening to His voice always.

@@WalkingWithTheSavior birth baptism is not acceptable. The scripture says for us to have an awareness of baptism (1 Peter 3:21), and the definition of baptism in scripture is by immersion. And please remember, we’re not checking boxes. We’re intentionally out to please God because we love Him.
I totally get what you’re saying, but we must keep our eyes on the fact that these instructions are coming from God and not men. Sometimes the message can seem and sound legalistic, but God understands your intent is to only obey and please Him. Eyes off of man, the messenger, and embrace the message because the message is coming directly from God.
Can’t compare to the thief on the cross. Once Jesus’ blood was shed, then was buried, then was risen from the dead, that’s when everything changed. A new dispensation has now begun.
Conviction is coming by way of this conversation. Whether you feel it or not. Don’t put confidence in feelings.
200 people is a lot, and to be honest, I’ve only seen such baptisms conducted this way recently. Growing up it was always only one at a time. God can lead you somewhere that does it one at a time and on any day (not on a specific day).
To your last point. One cannot be intentionally disobedient, and in relationship with the Lord at the same time. The two don’t go together. Adams disobedience is what caused the separation between God and man. Only through obedience can one have relationship with God. Once you’ve heard the Word, everything else after that becomes intentional. Deciding our own set of rules and parameters of having a relationship with God is dangerous and in God’s eyes unacceptable. It can only be God‘s way! After all, He is God!

I came from church of christ. They believe that u have to be baptized for salvation. But when I started studying on my own, I weighed the different teachings. And lots of prayer.
In The book of Acts, is a transitional book. Salvation was only for the Jews, even Jesus said to only go to them. But Peter and Paul started in chapter 9 that gentiles can be saved now, in visions. Strongest verse I found in Acts 10 v 43-44. Acts 10:43-44 (KJV) To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.
While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.
They heard the good news and believed and were saved. Then they were baptized, in the name of Jesus. Also in Romans 3:25.Follow the books Paul wrote. He is the apostle to the gentiles. ROMANS THRU PHILEMON ALMOST 1/2 THE N.T.

Not once in the Bible is baptism referred to as or shown as a public display of one’s faith. And if circumcision was a public display then all Jewish males would have needed to walk around with their genitalia out so people would know they were a part of the covenant. Paul heard the physical voice of YHWH and prayed for three days, but what did Ananias tell him when he got there? Arise and be baptized and wash away your sins.

Baptism is an essential act of obedience, after salvation, but is NOT a requirement for salvation, proved by several who received the indwelling of the Holy Spirit (salvation) prior to baptism. Also proved by Peter not always discussing the necessity of baptism during his gospel messages. And the fact that Paul said: God sent him to preach the GOSPEL, not to baptize. And Christ’s last words from the cross: IT IS FINISHED. Nothing could be added. Nothing could be taken away. Our salvation is SEALED forever, always, eternally.

@@edensessentialsnaturalwell8564 When Paul told the church in Corinth that he was glad that he didn’t baptized any of them except the few that he actually did. He wasn’t talking about baptism not being essential but rather correcting them for their mistakes of fighting over some being of Apollos and others being of Paul and the main point for him was to show them not only that Christ wasn’t divided but also neither Paul nor Appoline died for them. Think about this, what did Paul and Sillas did when they went to Jailer who got saved after God opened the prison door, they baptized him and all his family immediately. Acts 16:31-34
At that hour of the night the jailer took Paul and Silas and washed their wounds. Then he and all his people were baptized immediately. After this the jailer took Paul and Silas home and gave them food. He and his family were very happy because they now believed in God.
Also Peter and all disciples were baptizing people that believe the same day. That’s how important and urgent baptism is.
      Acts 2:41-47
Then those who gladly received his word were baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them. And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.
In fact the Bibke talks about the Israelites being baptized in the sea and in the clouds, those that came before Christ. 1 Corinthians 10:1-5
They were all baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea. They all ate the same spiritual food and drank the same spiritual drink; for they drank from the spiritual rock that accompanied them, and that rock was Christ.
Baptism in the Bible isn’t a question of if but if when. Ofcourse we are saved by grace through faith but we must also remember what does faith even means? It is the assurance of what we hope for and the evidence of what we cannot see. Faith in Christ is not a passive faith but rather an active faith. We believe therefore we do. Baptism is not for nonbelievers but for believers. It’s for those who have put their trust In Jesus Christ. The early church never even had question the importance and necessity for baptism. The Lord Jesus Last words wasn’t “it is finished” no, Jesus died after those words and resurrected and was seen by many.Jesus’ last words to the disciples were recorded in Matt. 28:19-20: “Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
Notice that the first commandment for a new disciple according to Jesus is to be baptized; that’s how serious Jesu took it and we must to. There’s no theological justification nor men interpretation that can be held above God’s word.
      Isaiah 40:8
The grass withers, the flower fades,
But the word of our God stands forever.”
      Galatians 1:8-12
But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed.
      Galatians 3:27-28
for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
      Acts 2:38
Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
      Acts 19:2-6
he said to them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?”
So they said to him, “We have not so much as heard whether there is a Holy Spirit.”
And he said to them, “Into what then were you baptized?”
So they said, “Into John’s baptism.”
Then Paul said, “John indeed baptized with a baptism of repentance, saying to the people that they should believe on Him who would come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.”
When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. And when Paul had laid hands on them, the Holy Spirit came upon them, and they spoke with tongues and prophesied.
And ofcourse people received the Holy Spirit before getting baptized when Peter was preaching at Cornelius house but don’t get it twisted and use it as baptism is not important because those people were baptized right after. Peter didn’t say, now they have the Holy Spirit let’s not baptize them but rather he said that they should baptize them also.
      Acts 10:44-48
While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who heard the word. And those of the circumcision who believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out on the Gentiles also. For they heard them speak with tongues and magnify God.
Then Peter answered, “Can anyone forbid water, that these should not be baptized who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have?” And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then they asked him to stay a few days.
I hope you not only believe in Jesus but are following him and have been baptized as he commanded.
      Acts 22:16
And now why are you waiting? Arise and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on the name of the Lord.’

I've seen professing Christians that boast they've been saved 30+ years and show the fruit but it never multiplies. I've gone to churches where they remain babes.
It's when we endure the trials and hardships is when the fruit grows and becomes good.

@@edensessentialsnaturalwell8564It is important for YOU. For me it is not. I think baptism is personal so why others people need to be there? When I receive faith nobody was there. When I pray nobody know that. When I struggle with my faith, nobody is there. When I read my Bible, I don’t feel the need to show « eh everyone I read the Bible ». I like to be discret and intimate with my relationship with God.
That being said, the problem with this « you had to » is that people forgot human baptism is symbolic. That’s why so many people think you need a HUMAN baptism to get saved, think they are better Christian than Christian who are not receive human baptism or think they are saved because they get a baptism when they were a kid. So, objectively, it’s not important. What matters is your Faith. However, if you love symbolized everything, why not.

Hulu movie Proximity (2020) it is alien encounter. In the las twenty minutes of the movie, the main characters of the movie are asking the aliens why they chose them. They study humans because they have measurable amounts of this aura living with in them. They replied that they are looking for origination of the universe and they see that humans are full of this energy of the universe then they place their hand in front of one of the character’s forehead and they see a vision of Jesus Christ floating in the air and wanted to know who he was. Human asked the aliens what do you want with Him and Aliens replied that Jesus is the the link to the origins of everything. He is the common factor why humans have this amount of this aura. So in this movie they are painting the aliens as great civilization that have master science, wisdom and great advancement but now they are interested in the origination of the universe and believe that Jesus is the beginning and see a connection with humans. The great deception

    ABSOLUTELY CORRECT 💯

    • @A4CBrand
      @A4CBrand ปีที่แล้ว

No. That’s incorrect. The importance of Baptism.
When Paul told the church in Corinth that he was glad that he didn’t baptized any of them except the few that he actually did.
      Be blessed

Hence, James 2:19: "Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble." If Christ, he being holy, has need to be baptized to fulfill the commandments of the Father, how much more need have we being unholy to be baptized, yea, even by water! Please read the book.
