Id love to see them use it on a steep, awkward shaped field, especially in the dark as we all too often end up working when the rain is coming! It is good tho to see different ideas, tho most ways of rowing up whilst baling are only suitable for straight lines in flat fields
it would be better if it went on the front of the tractor or two shorter rakes on the sides of the baler
that's a pretty interesting concept, but it seems a little impractical since you can only rake from one side of the baler so that means you can only go in one direction around the field instead of just back and forth. what would be really neat is if that hitch could pivot like a swinging discbine and go from side to side so you could go back and forth.
this would only be useful in a really large field for silage bailing but if your doing dry hay the hay needs time to dry more once in a windrow too hence why its called a windrow to allow the air to get into the hay and dry it more.
That's one way to tear the hitch off a round baler!
That system would be a lot better if it was mounted to the front of the tractor.
and the hired man forgets about the rake and smacks into a fencerow..

Put the rake between the tractor and baler and save a pass around the field.

Try work it on hills when you have to place the bale
Why don't you just mount the rake on the front of the tractor , seems a lot easier to handle that way.

Might be alright in a big field hell I could not get that contrapson in some of my fields.
Anyone who has ever ran a round baler knows you have to swerve from one side of the windrow to the other to make even bales... That would make the next windrow crooked as hell. No thanks for me, I need something for my retired dad to do
anyone who has ever run a round baler behind a V-rake knows you do NOT need to weave back and forth.....
this would work fine as long as it was adjusted right.
at 1:36 you can see they are not raking anything at all.... just cleaning up what was missed the last pass.
if the rake was better adjusted, or 12 wheels, it would work far better.
I can see some advantage with this on flat fields except for one problem.
if using this on alfalfa, when it is wet enough to rake without damage, it is TOO wet to bale.... when it is dry enough to bale, it is TOO dry to rake.

Anyone who has baled a decent amount of hay with a round baler knows you go from one side of the baler to the other. You don't always have hay thick enough that it fills the width of the pick up.
If the windrow is crooked you can drive straight with your baler... :)

very poor idea, extreme pressure on baler hitch, very sloppy and uncontrolled. Plus the idea of raking up here is to turn the windrows a few hrs ahead of baling to get the bottom o windrow dried plus putting windrows together. Nice to do in one pass but defeating part of the process. Not even a consideration.
Bet it's in the scrap pile by now.

Seems like a lot of extra parts to break and we generally wait 2-4 days after raking to allow it to properly dry out. Instead of investing in stupid ideas how about you all invest in figuring out the mechanical malfunctions in the crap that's already out there.
How many fence posts have been taken out with that setup?

help me out here why would you rake and bale at the same time .
the bale needs to be at least 70 percent how are you getting that while on the ground?
its not hay, hay is dried grass. that was cut just before raking you can see him cutting in the next field like you need to turn it 2 or 3 times until its crispy and dusty

Farmer Ash no in my country hay is grass that you dry out and straw is the stawks of wheat barley ect

Farmer Ash ok silage is wrapped in black plastic but the wrapper isn't there is he and yes the grass isn't dried so its not hay

Ummmm, no. I have a hard enough time keeping my rake from hitting sh*t without it being 18-20 feet out to the side.

I don't see an advantage plus steep ground I don't think it would work it looks like someone just had too much time on their hands to invent this contraption.
