My comment was refering to the fact that her stevie tribute reminded me how amazing she sounds when she sings soul/funk music. I don't really like her stuff after B'day, it's very Pop indeed, the only album I kinda liked since was 4 because of the old school R&B/Soul/funk influence even though it still had a very Pop element to it. I just wish she would do a NEW SOUL/FUNK album but yeah I know about the old stuff.

B’Day still remains as Beyoncé’s best album! It’s the most balanced between r&b, funk, pop and hip hop. The fact that she finished it in 2 weeks is even better because it really exposes her at her most unrehearsed and authentic. The album feels effortlessly ‘Beyonce’ because she’s not trying too hard. Her more recent albums have her trying to appeal to today’s pop music listeners especially with her constant rapping, edginess and expletives.
The booming, confident and occasional raspiness of the way she sings in several B’day songs is so underrated and no one else has really done it as well as her
