I been watching for a while I Man you are full of a lot of knowledge great tips for beginners and veterans 💯🇺🇸👍. I’m upstate South Carolina and been trapping past few years myself with some success. Love watching your videos lots of information for the viewer and what a great job to have 👍👍💯🇺🇸
Thanks for sharing. Been waiting for this. Keep it up brother. Your techniques have surely helped me. Looking forward to catching a few this fall. Definitely seen an uptick in fawns since catching a few yotes. Southeastern VA.
I’ve been wanting do this technique of trapping. I hunt on my parents 10acres. Well they’ve got one big coyote around chasing the deer around. Neighbor sees him around but can never get the chance to shoot his ass. I was wondering if this would attract a cat or dog? Other neighbors opposite side have 3-4 cats and sometimes have 1-2 dogs out. Didn’t wanna set it up if I’m just gonna catch the neighbors pets. TIA
Nothing personal, but that’s something I no longer discuss. Got burned doing it once and never again. I will literally tell you anything else you want to know.
THANKS Bill, new trapper here your videos are great and informative. Question, how many traps would you want to use on a property of 250 acres, that's what I'll be trapping this fall. Just looking for kind of an estimate, Thanks and keep up the videos they are great!
I’d say maybe 10-12. It just really depends on the layout of the place. Roads, ditches, fields, etc… if there’s good sign there I’d double a lot of sets, say for instance a big intersection. Fields, I’d set at least two or three of the corners. Dog proofs are always good too at ditch crossings and feeders if you’re trying to lower the coon and possum numbers.
Just enough to catch a newbie when he, me, presses to much on the pan!! Had me laughing after the initial stun. Bill said” I’ve been wondering when that was going to happen.”😂
GREAT VIDEO! I have a MB 450 that a had to put a new dog on. Now I can’t get it set…..when I try to set it, it’s as if the jaw isn’t low enough for the dog to get over the jaw and keeps it from getting under the pan edge. What am I doing wrong? Please help. Thank you!
@@CoastalCarolinaOutdoors I just tried that. Didn’t work. When I put the dog over top the jaw….the end of the dog meets at about level with the pan and I can’t get the pan to go over it. The best I’ve done so far is it sets right in the night latch slot without even doing anything like pushing the pan down to the click. It’s already set in the notch. I just can’t get the end of the dog far enough under the pan. I’m totally confused.
I’d sure hate to be a coyote in your neck of the woods. You definitely put a hurting in them.. Keep up the good job and I also appreciate your knowledge of what type of set your putting in and why..!! Keep the chains tight..!!
Man fella. I got that dang Covid back in late May but I still ran the line. Felt like hammered dog poop.Even trapped nutria with that junk. I found that if you stay active instead of laying up you feel somewhat better. With that stuff anyway. Flu different story though I reckon. 🤷🏼♂️
Hi buddy. Can you trapped a live adult pair of coyote for me and I pay you how much you want to charge me for. I like to have a great pair of it. What state and city you in and when is the most effective to trap them...?
Good job and nice catches. Your methods are clearly working, but I do wonder why you handicap yourself with the 450s? If I’m killing coyotes for money I want the largest legal trap and get every advantage possible. Thanks for the video, keep up the good work
I don’t necessarily see it as a handicap. I may have upwards of 150-200 active traps at a time. For the blend of quality and price the 450 is my best choice. Also, I can pack a lot more 450’s than 550’s into my enclosed boxes in the back of my truck. I do have some 550’s, Bridger 1.75 & 2…I’ve just found that I get the same results from a 450 as a 550. And during live market season, the 550 is too hard on fox.
I do what I can. I’m a one man show with the filming, editing, and the trapping…all while running a business and being a dad and husband. I don’t always have time to film or edit. I appreciate the feedback and support though.
Thanks for sharing this Bill, you're cleaning them up early. Great start to your season!
"Cleaning them up?"
Europeans really do be thinking they're gods of their world.
Enjoyed watching you make the catches there 👍

Good video brother. I've picked up a lot of tips, from watching your videos. If you don't mind telling. How do you charge the landowner for trapping.

The man the myth the legend 💪🏻
what type of bait and Luer are you using?
All baits are my homemade blends. All fresh meat with zero taint/rot smell. Lures are mostly fox hollow, Milligan, and Tom Miranda
Love the trapping keep it up my friend geno from England

@CoastalLandWildlifeServices Thank you and Good Hunting my friend!
I'm curious how much pan tension you run on those 450s
About 2.5lbs
Excellent video Bill!
Excellent video!!!
What pan tension do you run?
2.5-3lbs

Try bending the piece that the dog attaches to towards the jaw (center of the trap)

Are the rotent holes from voles? Not to be confused with a mole. They’re like a mouse with a stubby tail. We have zillions of those here in Ohio.
I want to say someone told me they were an “oldfield mouse”
Do you shoot your coyotes?
Really enjoy your videos
Thank you
Hey there buddy like your video can you tell me the best way to catch coytoe and where would be a good spot to set them i live in west vg

The residual effects of Covid doesn’t just go away either. Has caused me all kinda problems. Hate that stuff with all my heart man.
Yeah, usually no matter what I get if I stay active I feel better and recover faster
True story

@@CoastalCarolinaOutdoors Keep up with the good work! 👍🏻👍🏻 I subbed anyways!
Those coyotes look awfully scrawny. There must be a lot of them competing for food.
That's average size for South Carolina
Should be a law against trapping coyotes
Haha. And why is that? Let’s hear all your knowledge on the subject.
Lol yeh i wana hear it too 😂
With that terribly loud and annoying intro I won't be subbing.
What do you do with those coyotes they look pretty flat do you get paid to trap there
Yes. Paid per day/week
Awesome.
