Cleric is more like a Paladin right now. I know DnD is a big inspiration for the classes, I fully believe as someone who has played Cleric a lot, Cleric needs a full rebalancing and separated into 2 separate classes or something similar needs to happen because fundamentally Cleric is built on something you can't nerf or they became redundant and you can't buff them or they become a walking monstrosity. Which as someone who studies and worked on game design sounds more like something you have to fix from the ground up because the fundamentals are the issue.

@PrinceCahil you accidentally replied twice, but yes I understand they didn't get buffs which shows there was a playstyle that is finally getting traction that people are realizing is quite a lot stronger than everyone expected. It further adds to the fact there is a fundamental issue. I know there hasn't been buffs or even nerfs and I knew that when commenting cause I play Cleric, I think the reason this didn't come up as soon is because many people think of Clerics in any fantasy game as the dedicated supporting healer class. The main issue here is just you can have super ultra tanky gear and make it so while in melee people can't even think about getting away so it forces a trade war where Cleric also easily has some of the highest damage. How do you nerf this while keeping the class intact, well you can't take away the gear, so instead you take away the slow which may fix the main issue but what is going to happen is now a melee class that has no viable ranged option or slow ability, you suddenly are reliant on alot more situational things but now people still won't even think of challenging you because in melee you are unkillable. You can't take away the gear because that's a core mechanic of the game itself and you can't nerf gear because you'll end up nerfing much more than just the target class, granted PDR is stupid strong and shuts down so much that isn't dedicated to fighting it or outright ignores it. In the grand scheme of all this Cleric is fundamentally at its core strong where you can nerf its skills and perks into the ground then they will eventually feel like a horrible experience to play, because the issue is fundamental it is within the core of the class itself. Cleric needs a rebalancing, a rework, perhaps the issue mainly is the strength of all the skills and perks combined with gear, the best fix is to reevaluate the class as a whole and think of what skills are outliers not befitting the vision and then looking at the perks to see what doesn't fit aswell. TLDR; I never said Cleric was buffed or even suggested that in my original message, I'm saying there is a fundamental issue that makes it hard to balance through nerfs and buffs. Sorry for the long post I just used an opportunity to explain some of the issues I see a little further, I'm also tired so I may have made some mistakes in wording.

didn't see the video until now but i did run it while duo'ing with a druid with a warmaul and i'm bad. dodge is not an existent ability on me. i'm the kind of guy that will gutsy it just to confirm a kill. this setup made a barbarian rethink his life after trying to race me. No spells, no nonsense, just pure tard padding and strength a football coaches son could be proud of. glad to see a video with it.

7:15 A counterpoint to this, I have seen many people clear both troll and cyclops in normals. Typically, those guys do not care about the loot pile for their first boss, so sometimes you can encounter a friendly one who gives you pile. I only know this tho because I was countering troll once :P
I can recommend Smite/ judgement. I have a 2/3k build that claps to many cheeks. You dont even need movement speed if you play right. The Judgement slow is enough to get them. And then you just need to hit them once with a mace. They just die.
Smite judgment move speed build is actually insane I was playing it in trios and ran down a full purple/Lego fighter rogue cleric in blues it’s ridiculous

The last Cleric change was May 25, Smite scaling back to 100% and Blunt Weapon Mastery going from 10 ->15% Dimo you delusional on this one. Cleric is good but why did it become the best overnight. Its July now

remove divine protection (or smite but smite kinda fits cleric) and wait until paladin is released, i think thats probably the best course of action instead of constantly trying to rebalance cleric.
smite is just way too strong for cleric, also in dnd you can only smite evil, you can't smite neutral or good with a neutral good holy cleric, so it shouldn't even hit players, cleric has enough spell buffs anyways 10 scaling magic for 7 seconds is totally absurd and makes sense on a paladin not a cleric it should only hit undead and other evil characters which is all mobs, maybe not animals though

Warlock is not a good idea either because Cleric is made with countering Warlock in mind, but a full caster Warlock has a chance, Wizard is also a good options, but both are weak if Cleric is even a little too close cause slowing down to cast a spell is a deathwish. TLDR; High Agility, low armor, running away
