As a white Christian and fan of Kirk's for 20+ years (have attended 9 live concerts), I'm GRATEFUL for this conversation. I remember talking with Billy and Sarah Gaines in 1998 about systemic racism on Christian radio. I am saddened that this continues and appears to be MUCH WORSE in 2020. How can this be? Only the enemy working in our world...our nation...our culture...our church. Jesus, we need YOU more than ever. Kirk, I ❤ you... stay strong... keep speaking TRUTH!
💙🙏💙 Dr Evans... you inspired me this morning... loved the online service! I've been a listener since my conversion in 1993 on Moody Bible Radio in Chicago. Thank you, brothers for this conversation! REAL HUGS ... NOT just kumbaya 🥺🥺🥺 Pastor Evans... most BEAUTIFUL prayer I've EVER heard ❤💔❤

@@5822huron I appreciate your comment...I really don't know how to respond, as it wasn't comfortable for me to write, either. I'm truly horrified that we are even discussing color in 2020, but my only point was this...I see the racism within the music industry...I have seen, for nearly 25 years, the lack of diversity within the realm of contemporary Christian music and that, when attending gospel concerts (varied artists), that I have been one of very few white people in attendance. (This is not the case for more mainstream music like pop, jazz, r&b or rap) Kirk even has mentioned it during the concerts. This indicates to me that the systemic racism limits exposure to a larger audience (just a theory). I want to see a change... I'm praying for a change. I don't understand the problem, so these conversations are very important.

I've alway thought Dr. Evans is the greatest communicator of the gospel on the planet. In his great book, ONENESS EMBRACED, Dr. Evans wrote, "Until there is a willingness on behalf of whites in the evangelical world to sit or serve underneath the leadership and teaching of blacks, and not simply drop in from time to time for a “cultural” experience, true racial progress will not have been achieved." That convicted me and my wife. We've been members of Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship since August 2019. We've never been in a church where we've been more loved...

I have listened to him teach for years, even before the Lord saved my soul. .One thing I do know is that if a person ( black or white, or whatever race) don't allow the Lord to save them, prejudice, hatred, and all sin CANNOT be washed away.we are human beings, and we cannot wash our own selves.we were ALL born in sin, But Jesus died on the cross to SAVE His people from their sins. UNLESS we truly repent and be baptized in Jesus Name, and allow His Holy Ghost Power to come inside of us and live, we are still unclean regardless of how we go through all kinds of meetings and services and rituals.its time out for play, God is real and we are not going to make it without being Born again if water and Spirit. God's word cannot lie..it's time to run to Jesus Christ..our Savior!📖📖

They aren't that vocal because 1. Jesus is the answer 2. they adhere to Galatians 3:28 which says there is neither Jew nor Greek to those are in Christ so they don't obsess over race so much & 3. Because the issues facing the black population today doesn't have to do with racism the issue is internal and has to do with the culture.
Boys being raised by single moms is not normal outside of the black culture. Around 70% of children are born out of wedlock in the black population today. Boys without dads are more likely to be poor, commit crime & end up in jail lifeisbeautiful.org/statistics-on-fatherless-homes/?fbclid=IwAR3LnZ-5vx43BSNb7VfnB_pIZMmLBRa47lHfzAD4Rw2YzwUyfQCPUv9_jrE. It wasn't like this before the 60's it's a new phenomena that started after with President Lyndon John's war on poverty which gave single women with children free government money if they were not married or had a partner th-cam.com/video/SW61CeB3nLY/w-d-xo.html&feature=share&fbclid=IwAR0EPFhv45SMBvoZSon7V58k0NLgdBBoxxHOGX77uDpjN_rfNArggRRZvcY. Many black women decided to capitalize on this as a result its led to many fatherless boys & now the black population has the highest crime rate out of any racial group the 2nd highest are hispanics.
This is what has led to the constant police interactions with the black population and the profiling in the inner cities, profiling isn't racism. Issues with the police is a symptom to much deeper problem. The black population is in more immediate danger of being robbed, assaulted and killed by another black person than they are of being killed by the police. Compared to black on black homicides vs deaths by police the black population has a 2% chance of being killed by a police officer. The high crime rates is what brings property values down reducing funding for the schools in the inner cities.
Nigerians & West Indians who are nearly identical to Black Americans and they are not seeing the same issues that Black Americans are seeing because Mom & Dad being in the home raising their kids is the norm in these groups fordhaminstitute.org/national/commentary/power-two-parent-home-not-myth?fbclid=IwAR3aHZTSu-wSvNNhaKg2EpKQX3bMdZhNE75AmRK35qlT959HJUc3bK-WODM & because they are immigrants they aren't allowed to be on welfare driving them towards higher education or entrepreneurship taking full advantage of the opportunities in the United States. These are among the most successful minority groups in the U.S. & so it's got nothing to with racism and everything to do with culture, if it was racism then these minority groups would be affected too & that's not the case. Evangelicals won't get behind false cases of racism only real ones.

You’re so right and even Jesus doesn’t expect us to (beg) for anything but instead to simply ask for what we need even from our Heavenly Father. It would be so nice to move pass subjects like what this video is talking about but there has always been and most likely will always be individuals and church body that will not see pass their own wants, desires, needs or fleshly ways. All any of us can do is walk upright before God and others as best we can until he calls us home to be judged according to what we did and said on earth 🌏

The fact is white Christian's specifically need to repent and get a true revelation of the devastation they have caused, allowed, looked the other way from as well as profit off the luxury of supporting a racist system weather they knew they were or not. I experienced the same defening "silence" at the predominantly white church I used to attend during the police brutality against the black community. In fact when some of the white leaders/members spoke about the issue they would ask for prayers for God to protect the police only! It was really eye opening and appalling! God exposed a lot of people's true colors during that time and it caused such contentious and divisions in the church. Many black members were hurt and angry and left the church and some left the Lord altogether to embrace their ancestors gods as a result. But I thank God that the pastor eventually spoke out against white supremacy and reaffirmed his love and commitment to the black members. Sadly though many of the white members didn't appreciate what he did and they refused to stand with him on the matter. The church was never the same again after that! I really appreciated and respected the pastor for what he did for us but I just couldn't bring myself to join another white church again. God is still dealing with me and my own prejudices and distrust towards many of my white brothers and sisters as a result! Lord have mercy on us all and help us to love like you!

See, scripture is distant and doesn’t speak specifically about black/white racial issues, so people In some circles would rather have Christians who are calling out the body of Christ to change just “shut up and preach”.....like they want Lebron to “shut up and play ball” (thankfully he isn’t) and so on.
Pastor Morris said it perfectly. Sympathy, then empathy.......but some people out of pride won’t have either. Can’t wait on ‘em or worry about them. Identify it, move on, pray and partner with those who DO care. Cognitive dissonance doesn’t always result in positive change.

I stopped watching TBN many years ago except to watch Jakes and Joyce Meyer on Sundays. This is a conversation that is long overdue on this platform. Glad it has started. Keep it going. Also, TBN must implement some policies and programmatic changes that will move us farther along the road of reconciliation. Kirk, you did a great job, brother. And so did the other panelists.

This. I applaud this conversation in the context of Kirk & Dr. Evans (thankfully) representing well on the topic. I do wonder how sincere is this on the side of TBN? The political shows and pushing of an opposite perspective of racial reconciliation in that regard and others make one wonder.

@@kimberlyholmes222 - I agree. To do this show but have folks like Huckabee regurgitating the nonsense of the Trump/Fox News administration🤨 is disingenuous at best. The only good thing about Trump's ascent to POTUS is that it has exposed the real truth and mission of many white evangelicals, which is maintaining power at all costs. They can no longer lie and hide behind the "moral majority" mantra after supporting a man who is the very antithesis of what Christ represents. So, I'll wait to see real change on TBN before I celebrate🤨

GREAT & powerful conversation! Much respect to Kirk Franklin for so eloquently voicing the issues of hurt being experienced by so many church-going black and brown people. Thank you for verbalizing the outlook and feelings on some of the political and religious leaders' silence.

Best advice from Dr Tony Evans!!! Kirk has watered down message together with Robert Morris. We need truth and God's spirit. A true leader lives the Word of God. a message without the power of God there is no change and no impact no chain breaking. We need more powerful and anointed pastors. We can't accomodate sin.
