“I want to motivate and inspire others to follow their dreams…corny? Well, maybe but it’s true. So what’s motivating me?? I had a huge tumour removed summer 2016. However, despite not being able to walk for a few weeks, and feeling generally awful…. It has made me create and do what I love! It wasn’t an easy time but I won’t let fear dictate my life. I didn’t think ‘why me’, there are plenty of horrific issues people have to deal with…it’s not always smooth sailing. It’s true when you hear, ‘Life is short’, the crazy thing is, I am glad it happened…I appreciate life even more and try to practice gratitude everyday…It’s so easy to get caught up with the little things…and I do sometimes, but look at the bigger picture, will it matter in a year or two…we are all specks of dust…Also, thank you for all your support. It means a lot. I have suffered from anxiety from the past and self-confidence, (yeah hard to see now right) didn’t think I was ‘good, or worthy enough’ but I feel I have a new lease of life, don’t really care as much and want to show you guys what I have! : ) You are all awesome and without you, there would be no channel.
She's actually getting pretty big now. In the last few WEEKS, literally, she's been on two songs with Eminem, one with Sam smith, and released a collab herself with kehlani and normani.. and going on a headlining tour for 20ish cities soon. pretty cool stuff, we grew up in the same area so it gives me a little hope 😂

Bex, I know this won't get you a lot of views, but I'm so glad you're covering artist like this. I never heard of her and she's amazing ( everybody is, in their own way). As one of your other commenters, gia said, this girl is quite popular. Her stuff is shown on the VEVO channel, and her vids get millions of views. I plan on exploring much more of her stuff. Jessie Reyez is dope as fu*k! Period! I don't care what vocal coach says what, all u have to do is check out the crowd when she's performing, and the way she has this control over her fans, in the best way possible though. I guess all I'm saying is...your not gonna find another artist out there right now that is willing to sacrifice almost anything just to stay true to her music. That's a rarity. Don't know her but I liked her voice. Nice, raw voice, and yes, reminded me of Amy Winehouse. About the not giving a sh** thing, honestly, I think there are many artists who actually make it appear like they're the coolest, like that, but it's just for show. That's the image they want to project.. Don't know if she's one of them, and I certainly am not saying she is. Hopefully, she's not. That said, as mentioned, I liked her voice. Takes a bit of getting used to, but it grows in you.

Haha, I got to this page because I have finally had enough with having to cover my ears during the secret ad and looked up who and what the horrendous ear assault was. OYeeYOheeYOheeYOhee. In a closed throat, baby voice/long time smokers voice. It is as if she is just TRYING to be as annoying as possible?! The first time I heard one of her songs, I was in a torrid store and actually laughed out loud because I thought it was a joke. But I keep hearing her and this style and it just.... absolutely hurts my ears and is indicitive of how millennials and gen x just don't understand music and need to be taught. I found it hilarious that this vocal coach has the same issue with it bothering her ears.... But she's trying to hide it and be nice about it. When a person with a good ear is subjected to this vocal style, our ears actually physically react in horror. Mine move up like a dog and twitch. We try to downplay it, but it's like nails on a chalkboard. Please learn how to sing if you're going to be on the radio. This music is assault to my ears and I give up on trying to hide it. I have to instantly plug my ears to protect them and ,"lala" until it's over. Please vocal coaches of the world, address the horrible cancer of "baby speak", and "vocal fry" and for everyone's sake, can we stop with the weird pronunciations of words??? And sybilant "s". And to those who confuse that stuff with music, PLEASE listen to some opera and to some 40s 50s and 60s music. Until you are exposed to the real thing, you don't know what you're missing. Someone needs to teach the children!

Enough about the tone. We get it. She's amazing. Talk about the message she's delivering through that beautiful tone. That's what really counts. Just gives off that you arn't as deeply in love with this song when you don't give your thoughts on it. That's all.
