Feel like TH-cam is shadow banning me at this point so if you're watching this, thank you. Videos have never performed this consistently bad
Is that why you took down the last two videos?
Yep
@@iTalkStudiosyo, btw I sent you an email.
I’ve been subbed for about 2 years, watched majority of your videos this season and you came up at the top of my home page on iPhone, hope this insight helps
@@Repulatee It's people like you who I'll remember when I'm on top. Thank you also @PeaceUpH-Town
The only reason all these players were able to ask for such crazy high prices (Snell perhaps excluded) was because of Shohei Ohtani setting an absolutely bonkers standard to start the off-season. Any other year, these guys would've all been signed by February at the latest, with far more down-to-Earth contracts than what they asked for this year.
It’s odd how some players seem to leave everything up to their agents (Jordan Montgomery, Freddie Freeman) and then get shocked when they don’t get what they want. Get involved! It’s your career/life!
Used to be coached by a former Boras client. Coach said Boras wasn’t reprehensible but was just kind of a shallow cruddy dude, who only treated the star players well, as that’s how to maintain a good image.
Teams are finally wising up and realizing these massive decade long contracts aren’t worth it. No team wants a forty year old player making thirty million a year.
Speak for your team 😅 meanwhile SD for some reason Signed 3 I know til they be in their 40s
@@SDFan420can’t wait for all the padres glazers saying all these 10 years 300 million dollar contracts are good will be complain so much about how the contracts are trash
Fr the 2022-2023 offseason was crazy

@@Baseballify the trio of tatis machado and soto couldve won a won a world series. Soto being the first one gone surprised me. I would much rather have soto on a 10 year deal than bogaerts(great player, soto is just better)
I had Montgomery in fantasy this year.....holy moly
Rip
Jordan Montgomery rly trying to blame him and his 7 ERA on just Boras and the climate is crazy. Understandable to a certain degree but at least take some accountability for your awful season because spring training is no longer an excuse this late into the season.
Boras's tactics could definitely have played a part in his bad regression. Boras LOVES dragging out free agency to put the screws to teams. Doing so cost Montgomery the ability to have a full spring training which is well proven to best set you up for a successful season. Gausman missed part of spring training/pre season this year with injuries and it ended up taking him half a season to finally get dialed in after losing that valuable spring training prep time. Spring training/Pre Season games are huge for getting dialed in for the season for pitchers.
I came here to say exactly that. Montgomery is terrible this year.
Just because Snell is pleased with how Boras represents him, dosen't mean it isn't true that Boras could have failed another one of his clients. Each client is negotiated for on a team by team basis. Talks can go good with one client/team, and poor for another. Montgomery played his career best, and was playing ace level to a world series win. Literally no better leverage than that. And his representation got him a 1 year deal, and one that was so late in free agency because Boras loves to drag things out as a tactic it cost him his training camp which is likely a huge catalyst to why he's so bad this year. And will now insure he basically gets nothing after that 1 year deal is up.
Well especially because Boras’s tactics are well documented. He has his guys ranked and tells the guy 2nd in priority that the teams that miss out on the #1 option will panic and spend big on you.
How these two have performed in 2024 aren’t related to whether or not Boras messed up their free agency.
Betting my wife on Castellanos hitting a home run today
just look at javy baez contract. Risk risk risk. shame guy still has 3 years left and det has young dudes ready to fill spot.
"Demoted to the bullpen."
I'm sure long relievers have something to say about this.
Can’t believe we’re still talking abt these contracts. all the long term deals had low per years. snell wanted 30 a year so he signed a 2 year 60mill just like every other client. Boras got everyone want they truly wanted THE PER YEAR IS BETTER ON ALL HIS CONTRACTS
Can you talk about Zack Hample getting boxed out?
Because Snell wants to squeeze every dollar he can out of a team and that’s what Boras specializes in
As he should (and any other athlete that wants to get out there and compete)
@@rellsogorgeous squeezing every penny doesn’t always put you in the best situation to win though. Sometimes you have to leave a little money on the table to have a better chance of being on a contender
@@mattcox3373 he did that fro the rays and they traded him first chance
@@alejbr4 because that’s what the Rays do lol. I don’t blame him for looking for a bag though. 2 cy youngs
Monty is just mad that he can't get $25 million per year for 10 years guaranteed for being overrated garbage. DBacks will probably DFA him if they can find another lefty starter in the off-season.
Well maybe if he had a spring training things would have turned out different and that’s on boras
Boras looks like a James Bond villain
Pete Alonso is the next free agent to get screwed by boras
Different people with different experiences and therefore different perspective. I think it's possible the fact Montgomery was delayed signing to a team for so long it just got him in his head too much which has contributed to his poor performance a bit. I can see how not every player would be able to handle that.
I’m no Boras fan and he may have botched the contracts to a degree, but it’s ultimately up to his clients what they do. Teams also have a lot more data and metrics to measure now. The days of ERA and wins meaning a pitcher is the best have gone.
Love the vids!
Jordan Montgomery is mediocre at best, and has always been, what kind of contact was he looking for🙄
Some of these guys are overestimating the market. Every team already has a huge payroll
Feel so bad for all of these guys only making $20 million plus hope they can feed their family
The issue with boras is he blames the league and the teams for his players not being good enough when everyone can see they weren’t worth what they wanted. You can’t be clean after rolling in the mud.
Jordan 💯
Monty reminds of mad bum when he signed with the D-backs just wasnt the same pitcher
30+ year old pitchers sign with arizona to die.
Except Greinke
Scott Borillas not good for the sports is ripping off the teams
I don't know if it makes sense for snell to opt out this year
It's hot in Arizona? Who would've thought?
And besides didn't he pitch for TEXAS where its also hot as shit
But if snell kept going in the direction he was in early, he would probably be saying the same thing as Monty. Monty is obviously making excuses but snell is just simply better
Montgomery was a Scott Boras’s victim.
Probably going to be the same situation with Alex Bregman this year. I just hope the Astros don't play ball with Boras cause yeah Bregman has been really solid, but he was borderline unplayable in the beginning of the year, a contract year. Since then he's improved but he's not Altuve, he's not worth 20+ million a year 7 years or whatever. He's an above average hitter and above average fielder.
when will people realize professional athletes are paid to play. not talk. they are not spokesmen. doesnt matter what players have to say. only matters what they do on the field court or arena
MLB players hire Boras to get the top dollar they can get. Unfortunately none of this clients last offseason are with huge contexts besides Snell. Don’t blame the agent blame yourself for assuming you can land top dollar. Monty banked on himself and lost.
Chapman's contract with the Giant's is what he is worth especially at his age, he really only has maybe 3 more seasons of elite defense at 3rd, and his bat will almost certainly regress within the next 3 or 4 seasons. He's got the best deal he could. At $18 mil a year he is being underpaid for a 5.5 war season, that will probably be a 6 war season. If he executes his player option he really should only expect 3 year deals at his age with lots of options involved, or a low base salary. At the standard of $8 mil per war he should get more money this year, but he will probably be down to 2-3 War a season when he is 34-35. He is a big risk because of his age for long term deals at 31.
giancarlo's bat 😔
W vid 🔥🔥
What you can blame Boras for is making these players think they are worth more than they actually are.
Buddy’s had some horrendous takes and is asking why his views are down?
As a dbacks fan, we’ve accepted big contracts are not for us
All the Yankees fans crying when we trade him, when he was a fa. Monty was always awful. I was happy.
Snell has a change at a longer term deal
So does Chapman. That's the whole point of these short term contracts riddled with opt outs Boras likes to get for guys. Gives them a chance to prove they can be consistent then teams will be more likely to give them something a bit more long term.
Monty ain’t getting his bag.
Giants got 3 of boras clients snell Chapman and JHLEE
I'm glad he refused I don't even like Rodon on the Yankees.
As a Dodger fan, I love Cody but his performance in 2019 was sure a fluke. The guy waas badass for about 2 months, was good for 2 months and was pretty much below average for 2 months but his homers... damn, what a year for homers (side note: I hated it). Still, the man is not worth 30 mill.
Like number 243
Snell is lost in his own delusion, who is going to pay him what he wants when he is Cy Young one day and a walk machine the next. He make excellent money for is talent he just is a chowder head and a suspect teammate. Great when things are going well a nightmare when they are not.
How does this guy only have 156k subs, this is 1 mil stuff
guy wears long sleaves and complains about the heat
