These kind of movies have 0% relatability to 99.99% of Indians. What is the use of bollywood making a European or an American art house film. They can still make an Indie film but come up with a screenplay that is different and fresh and rooted in some nativity. This is basically a foreign film with Indian actors. That being said anyone can make any movie that they believe in and I hope the target audience of 100 odd people like this one. Not for me!

This movie is close to my expectations of the love relationship in our generation. I didn't like the affair and never liked people who were cheating because I was once betrayed :'(
That's not fair and selfish 🙀
But this story comes so realistic and excited about how they deal with it.
Love to see Deepika in her negative role and so happy her character doesn't matter with the age gap relationship with Sidhant 💗

I am a bit tired of movie makers showing "messed up relationships" as the defining basis for supposedly complex roles. There can be several other themes where people who have normal relationships in society can show a fair bit of complex emotion. This trailer screams out "look I am showing two young adults acting edgy" far too much.

Really appreciate how you both keep an open mind unlike other reaction channels or reviewers. Don’t understand what’s the fuss about the genre or the subject?Another way to see it. Cinema is an art for creators, inspired by life or fantasy. Not every story is told for entertainment or a message/moral. It opens minds and not continues to box one with personal beliefs and experiences. Look at the main characters of many Scorsese or Allen films, totally flawed and messed up… big time cheaters…. did they or those movies not earn accolades? It’s all in the story-telling and it could be someone else’s story, nothing relates or known to me. Some creators create things for their satisfaction and not necessarily thinking about their target audience. Can’t say how good is this movie before watching, but kudos to the makers for thinking out of the box.

So sick off the movies and shows just started glorifying infidelity as if it's something "cool" that happens only to "cool" and "hot" people. I hope the movie atleast concludes it with granting some dignity to people who still believe that infidelity IS UNCOOL, no matter how stuck you feel. You always have the option to be honest & truthful.

    • @noumanintown
      @noumanintown 2 ปีที่แล้ว

How is it glorifying infidelity? Are you aware that infidelity does scale up with opportunity? With access to disposable income, a work schedule that frequently takes you out of town, being attractive, having the money to pay for hotels and clubs and flights and gifts, all these things increase temptation and the ability to “get away” with infidelity?
I don’t understand why people always have to have this holier than thou attitude when it comes to films about infidelity.
In the real world, people don’t generally end a relationship first and then go out looking for a fling or love. Usually catching feelings is what triggers the relationship breakdown, it’s just how it goes. And as the movie depicts, it gets harder to discuss the death of a relationship when there are complications, like this movie depicts with the guy’s career/financial future deeply entangled with his fiancée.

🌸 Interesting trailer. Not a huge fan of Shakun Batra, but I did somewhat like and enjoy both of his films, even though there are apparent flaws for me. 🎃 The cinematography in the trailer reminded me of *Waves* even though I haven’t seen that film. 🙊 Maybe you can watch Shakun Batra’s first feature *Ek Main Aur Ek Tu* and Karan Johar’s infidelity fiesta *Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna* and then *Gehraiyan* back to back. 🙃

Karan jauhar has a certain thing for infidelity and one sided love stories. He's so out of touch, he's spent his entire life amongst people within bollywood who have lived the same way. They're all so privileged and out of touch that they don't realise this isn't an issue the people need discussing, nor can it be normalised or justified in a country like India. I don't think it should be normalised and accepted either. Bollywood instead of trying to be critical of infidelity is trying to normalise it, i feel. I am a very progressive person, I've had a more independent life and have lived in the biggest cities in India lived amongst the intellectuals in the best of universities basically trying to say I've had more exposure than most Indians usually are lucky enough to get but honestly I see no point in this film, nothing woke or significant about it.

    Pseudo Intellectual Audience be like:
About gehrayiyan: its a well made movie about problematic characters doing some wrong things which happens in real world too its a masterpiece its art its acting and all
About kabir singh: oh its just a movie which gives wrong message and shit 😂
Neutral audience: isn't kabir singh is also a well made well acted story of a problmetic character doing wrong things and isn't gehrayiyan also showing cheating with so much glorification .
Pseudo intellectual aud: but no they are going through a lot because of their wrong decision we can see in the trailer .
Neutral audience: yes exactly like kabir singh .
Pseudo intellectual aud : just shut up you're a mysogginist
In the end I know you guys aren't gonna agree but even in this scenario we have classicsm because kabir singh kind movies are problematic but are relatable (in terms of love ofcourse not violence) to majority that's why its pathetic for elite people where as this is relatable to very few elite audience hence they're okay with all this . 👍

Not for me!

I had huge expectations from the trailer but it was honestly a let down. This subject isn't new and it seems like the director tried to recreate some Woody Allen moments (and failing miserably). The acting is wooden and the dialogues are pretty meh. It is like one of those pretentious movies ( * Malcolm and Mary * ) where the director tries way too hard to come across as edgy and ends up losing substance.

Interesting..Infidelity story ofc..I'll watch it..idk really..just to see how the story goes & developes..but It'll be hard to watch..for me atleast..ik it's reality of how things are rn, messed up relationships and all..but I'm not a fan of cheating being justified in any way🚶🏻‍♀️if you are not happy in relationship..try to get out of it, hv a conversation with your partner...if you are not on same page & you both know no matter what, it won't work, then break it off...but to cheat..to choose to cheat..well..no!..like lying and cheating go hand in hand..you have to lie to get the time and resources to cheat..you're lying about who you are and what you're doing...you're lying about your true feelings..& then once you are cheating, you are stealing from your mate.. You're stealing the resources you lied about, you're stealing their trust and respect! Cheating is choice not a mistake & it'll never be justified..
