    I went online to have a look at the price of the type 2 plug that you recommended, and right underneath was a type 2 plug with a built in uk 3 pin socket without the locking pin holes for even less money than the plug you recommended.

      There are no resistors inside it though as it only has 3 pins (single phase)yet people are saying it still works, but some charging stations require a signal from the car before it will begin charging, so it may not work on all charging stations.@@thecapacitator8137

    Hi!
    I have a type 2 one phase L1 to Schukko cable.
    It does not have any pwm stuff inside.
    just a directly connected wire instead of button to signal proximitry and a resistor for max 16Amps current setting.
    I plan to extend it and put 2 more chargesers on one by one on L2-N, L3-N pins.
    I will wire Schucko plug socket for them.
    Sono extra electronic and stuff needed?
    I will have max 16Amps at both phases on 230V AC?
    so 3 times 16Amp current max?
    My chargers are L1 1.3kW, L2 2kW, L3 2kW.
    I have to plug L1 first, that has CAN communication to battery to open relay.
    I will plug in other 2kW chargers manually to socket on L2 then L3.
    I think better to use both phases instead of L1-N only to be similar flow on neutral, but some charge stations like in india have one phade Type2 AC only....
    I am in EU, Hungary, here 3 phase is the common and if not balanced 3 phase load it reduce max power to 3.6kW.

But i would love the option like you do to change the connection to a standard 3 pin uk plug. Could you please tell me where you got your connectors from? The one i bought was awful! Interesting video. How often did you test charging at a public charging station and how often did it work and how often did it NOT work? I'm asking myself if they would somehow stop charging or block your account if you charge with 500W instead of the 22kW that cars take. Thank you and keep up the good work!

    I've tried 4 charging stations and two cables, they didn't work for me. I think some communication software from the car is required or something is wrong with the stations. I have 220 ohm resistor so it's not the cable.

    Great thanks for this video. I have bought the same plug adaptator for my Zéro S but I am afraid to try it I don''t want to burst my charger or any part of the bike due to an intensity too hight delivered. I saw some adaptator with a switch on the top of type 2 plug to unlock the plug at the end of charging process?.

    • @thecapacitator8137
      @thecapacitator8137  ปีที่แล้ว

      The public charger has the same mains voltage as your house. It should be fine.
      The lock disconnects the resistors inside the plug which tells the public charger to release the plug. Alternatively you can do what I did in the video and modify the plug.

    The cells are the same chemistry as for Tesla's cars. I wish we could have the option of charging in less than an hour, esp when they're not fully depleted. At least there's the option, if you could spare the storage space, to carry solar panels and charge as you go.

    • @thecapacitator8137
      @thecapacitator8137  ปีที่แล้ว

      Tesla's have an active thermal management system that allow them to charge so fast. It's less viable for bikes. Could maybe have solar if you had a trailer!

    Would it be safe to wire the charger connector head of the bike directly to the charger adaptor. Then you just plug directly into the public chargers when ready ?
    Would rather not have to lug around that big super Soco charger everywhere I go

    • @richardbrice6535
      @richardbrice6535 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If your vehicle is supplied with an external charger, it is because your vehicle doesn't have an onboard charger.
      Public chargers are NOT chargers. They are electrical outlets that allow you to plug your charger into.
      Hope this helps.

    Are there specific public chargers to use e.g. 3kW or 7kW, and slow charging to not damage the bike charger?

    • @hollow34
      @hollow34 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The bike's invertor will only draw what it needs, I think it's about 800watts. It's a pull (draw) rather than a push. Most public chargers over 7kW you have to pay for any how.

    • @gabriele476
      @gabriele476 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      you can anyway set the maximum current needed via the resistor it talked about, so the charging station will know you won't need more than that. Even if the charger is going to allow a maximum input anyway.

    That it works is one thing, who pay in accident, is another. You will be responsible for any issues.
    Type 2 cable manufacturer must test it before introducing it in the market. This cable is not tested after modifications regarding norms.

      On the cheap Shoko to Type2 cables that skip negotiation step 2 but works for most chargers:
      Between PP -> R1 -> PE (R1 use a resistor based your cables rating)
      13a (1.5mm) = 1k5
      20a (2.5mm) = 680r
      32a (6mm) = 220r
      Between CP -> (+)Diode 1n4007(-) -> 880r -> PE
      * 880r resistors are harder to find so 820r + 68r = 888r is within most chargers tollerances
