    I didn't mark my capacitor. Which connector does the red wire go to and the double white wire ?

    What are the yellow, white, blue, and red wires connected to, exactly? I want to know so that if the wire colours are different, at least the use of the wire is known. Thank you.

    Thanks, I have a similar type Whirlpool 90 series with the direct drive motor just like that. The capacitor was initially bad as the top blew off and a loop of paper was laying in the bottom. I replaced the capacitor and the washer worked all the way to the spin cycle, but now keeps overheating. If I let it cool down after an hour or so I can get it to run, but then it will overheat and click off (in spin or drain). I've read somewhere that the timer can make the motor run in both reverse/forward at the same time and that can cause the motor to overheat. I took the motor out, can I test the windings with a voltmeter.

      Sounds like I have the same problem. Will agitate, but then after agitating, I get a loud hum before it goes dead quite and no action occurs until I let it remain in the off position. Not sure how to test or troubleshoot from there.

      @@GOFAST0602 it's actually been some time since I last supposed to this. The problem ultimately came but down to a bad motor. Actually, centrifugal starter clutch within the motor broke therefore the starter winding ran continuously. I believe what happened was the motor was initially bad which caused the capacitor to blow. After I replace the motor it stopped giving me any more problems

      Check the terminals on the motor connector. You are looking for signs of an overheated connection on one or more of the pins. Mine was terminal 8. The heat turned the white/clear plastic to a brown color. The voltage drop across a poor connection will cause lower than normal drive voltage applied to the motor, which causes excessive current in the windings and overheating.

    Dear Sir, I have a 1 phase electric motor that doesn't use carbon brushes. Used unused washing machines. Specifications of 230 volts AC 50 Hz 3.4 amp 100 watts 2800 rpm, SOLE brands made in Italy and 7 cables in light blue, gray, orange, brown, black, red and white orange. I have checked prisoners light blue - gray = 63 Ohm, light blue - orange = 58 Ohm, light blue - brown = 63.1 Ohm, light blue - white orange = 18.4 Ohm, gray - orange = 84.3 Ohm, gray- ash - brown = 89.4 Ohm, gray - white orange = 45.1 Ohm, orange - brown = 84.4 Ohm, orange - white orange = 41.2 Ohm, brown - white orange = 45.9 Ohm, black - red = 27.4 Ohm / alarm sound. Can you help me to determine which connection is phase and neutral.

      I know you likely have a new washer or fixed this by now, but this is for everyone else. Did you check the lid switch? Sounds like a lid switch.

    Doss anyone no how to hotwire a moter whirlpool Cabrio whot gos whare to spin and ajoyat

    • @ianwarren5297
      @ianwarren5297 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Those are direct drive motors that require an inverter board. You wont be able to hot wire that. The most common problem with those washers is a tub bearing failure. If it started to sound like a rocket was about to take off in your laundry room before it fully died, the bearing has failed.

      Could be a shift acuator or could be a bad computer board. Several videos on TH-cam that will help you find out which one it is.
