  • Confession: This video consists entirely of previously released footage ("How to Service and Repair a FLEET of Snowblowers," seen here: • How to SERVICE and REP... , over an hour long, in which we work on 4 different machines). This video focuses only on the 26" Toro Power Max 726 OE. So if you've got one of these machines that won't start, hopefully this video will be of help to you.

    Thank you for this. A video for my exact make and model makes things much more approachable. Having the same problem and my carburetor is just as dirty. Replacement is on the way.

    Thank you so much for making this video!! It was a life saver and easier than I expected. It was especially nice walking us through how to pull the brass diverter plate out of the old one as well as putting the spring back into place. It worked great right after I installed the new carburetor. The problem of shutting down when I transitioned from Choke to Run went away. Thank you again!!!

    Buck, I just picked up a toro 826oe model 37772 250cc that is very similar to this machine. It had water in the fuel. I pulled the carb like you did, but noticed there isn't a gasket on the back side of the spacer you didn't remove. The side that bolts to the motor. Do you know if this is normal????? Thanks great video

      I don't know exactly. I recommend using the ENGINE model, type, and code (assuming Briggs engine) to go online and lookup a parts diagram for your engine. You'll see an exploded drawing that should include the gasket (if there is one). Then you'll also get the part number and can order yourself one, if you need to. Good luck.

    You confirmed everything that I did; however, I did not change the carb...STILL cant get it to run.

      Fuel, spark, compression....the three basics. Will the machine run for a few seconds if you spray starting fluid directly into the carburetor throat? If so, you have spark and compression, but not adequate fuel flow through the main jet of the carburetor. Try that.

    what kind of fuel filter did you put on? what size is the fuel line?

    • @Buckwsr
      @Buckwsr  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's 1/4 inch (inside diameter) fuel line. Just a basic fuel filter for a gravity fed fuel system...easy to purchase online or at the local hardware store. I buy them on ebay by the dozen....

    Question, my chocked was always in closed position and it always started , did I mess anything up with never opening choke

    • @Buckwsr
      @Buckwsr  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Choke is used for a few seconds only on a cold start. If you have to keep the engine choked in order to stay running, you have inadequate fuel flow through your carburetor, and it needs to be thoroughly cleaned or replaced.

      @@Buckwsr sorry for not checking spelling before sending my comment. My toro always started with choke off/closed. I never opened it before pulling on the rope. did i mess anything up? i did it like that since new and for the last 3-4 years

    • @Buckwsr
      @Buckwsr  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@goranpetrovic2321 Okay, no problem. If you don't need to use the choke to start your machine, there's no problem with that at all. Usually the choke is needed initially for a few seconds on a cold start. But your terminology is a bit mistaken. For the choke to be "off" the butterfly plate is open, not closed. So, what is the problem you're having that motivated you to watch this video?

      @@Buckwsr well after 4 years of owning it and last winter not using it all I kind of forgot to start machine . I watched videos on how to start it and instructions said the same open chockON , pull rope, machine starts and then close choke OFF position. Well for the longest time I never bothered with my choke and it was always left in that close/off position. I would Pump it, pull rope and off I go. Only now I saw that I was starting it wrong all the time. I only notice that with the second knob (turtle) speed , if I move it to the slowest setting it will shut off. It will work middle and the highest speed. Is that anything to worry about

      @@goranpetrovic2321 Since you only operate the snow blower at full throttle, I'd say as long as it starts and runs, just keep doing what you're doing. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!" Enjoy the winter, and good luck!
