Very helpful indeed. I recommend this set to my students. This one is particularly good for awareness strategies. Thich Nhat Hanh's book - 'Peace is every step' is great reading on this.

I have a question. When I was exploring the difficulty and located it in my body I started crying. I was trying to understand this but couldnt in the meditation. I know there is no right way of doing this but I can't help but wonder if I was meant to be analysing my feeling of sadness and where it came from. This is the only way I could interpret "opening, softening" part. I wanted understand myself, is this the right way? Or does focusing on the feeling in the body lead to something else?

its normal to want to have an answer, but it creates a risk or future unhelpful rumination if you cant find the answer, the best thing is to ask yourself as a detective what this feeling might be about after the meditation finished, if you notice this thought connecting to the feeling during practice that's great but not necessity. just continue to practice and in time it may make sense. even if you are unable to identify your thought with continued practice you will notice reduction of that feeling and perhaps over time you may discover contributing factors that lead to you feeling like this on some day and not on others. Its definitely worth keeping at it. Speaking to a qualified CBT therapist may be helpful to explore this.

Is the guy who posts these the same guy talking in the meditation? I really like his voice. It's calming

No. The speaker is Prof Mark Williams, the co-author of the book. The recording is from the CD that came with the book.
