Thanks for this content, Capt. Nakakainspire. Once I visited Omni Aviation sa Clark to attend to their seminar for aspiring pilots back in 2008. Hindi ko tinuloy ang pag sign up ng enrolment forms because of the tuition. Napaka mahal po talaga.😥

A pilot doesn't have a retirement age. As per the Philippine Civil Air Regulations, the maximum limit of 67 years old is only applicable for Commercial Air Transport, mainly airlines. You can still fly and become a pilot even beyond 67 years of age as long as it is not under commercial air transport, examples of these are Flight Instructor, cargo pilot, crop duster, charter, corporate or check airman or flight examiner. You can still become a pilot even at 70, 80 or even more than 100 years of age. The important thing is that you need to pass and maintain your medical fitness exams every 6 months. If you're beyond 70 years old and can still pass the medical then why not?
Retirement is defined as withdrawal from one's position or OCCUPATION or from ACTIVE WORKING LIFE. - Merriam-Webster.
Commercial air transport operation - An aircraft operation involving the transport of passengers, cargo or mail for REMUNERATION or HIRE. (PCAR 2.1.2 (a)(21).
The concept presented in this video regarding retirement was about changing from a different career to a COMMERCIAL TRANSPORT PILOT and within the context as making an Airline Pilot job as your new career, meaning those people like seamen, doctors, nurses, etc. for the purpose of earning/making a living. Unlike a doctor for example, where they can actively practice their profession even beyond their 70th birthday, pilots cannot perform active commercial flights because it is prohibited by regulations stated in CAR 2.3.1.5.1 (d). Since companies operating commercial air transport cannot hire you as their pilot after your 67th birthday, it becomes your retirement age as an airline pilot because as stated in PCAR you cannot get any remuneration in exchange for your service when you reach your 67th birthday and it does not only apply to airlines transporting passengers but also for CARGO pilots.
There are exceptions however as stated in PCAR 2.3.1.5.1
(e) For purposes of paragraph (a) (d) above and of other applicable PCAR provisions, all
aircraft operations involving the transport of passengers, cargo or mail are presumed commercial air transport operations except in the following instances:
(1) Training or demonstration flights of Approved Training Organizations;
(2) Corporate flights for the purpose of transporting the company’s executives,
employees and/or clients;
(3) The cargo on board is owned by the aircraft owner/operator.
(f) Any person who claims that his/her flight is covered by the above exceptions shall present sufficient proof, documentary and/or testimonial, to prove the same when so required by the Authority
Personally I'd rather retire at age 50 then enjoy the fruits of my labor and fly my own plane with my family for leisure. 😊

Depende sa experience. Usually pag bagong A320 captain at lumipat sa a330 nagiging FO. Kung mataas naman ang experience mostly captain pa rin.

Best thing to do is magpamedical exam sya sa CAAP, sila kasi ang may final authority kung iaapprove nila ang individual na may ganyang medical condition. Kung iaapprove sya bibigyan lang sya ng limitation
