Most of you know how to read and write English, but when you have to speak especially in front of an audience you end up getting stuck. Many of you guys, fumble for words or cant keep your regional language influence at bay.Speaking good English is a way forward for all of us at least here in India. I found myself struggling with Hindi in a similar fashion when i started working in a Hindi news Channel first as a producer and then later as an Presenter. I could read and write but couldn`t speak fluent Hindi. What I learnt the with Hindi, could be applied to English as well. In this video i talk about haow you can learn to be fluent and confident while speaking in English. Speak fast and speak easy, without hesitating.
Here I talk about my journey and share tricks/tips for you to help you learn to effectively communicate in a language that you find yourself struggling with.
All languages can be learnt and you can be proficient in it, provided you keep an open mind.

Don’t be ashamed of your mother tongue influence.. it is an indication that you know more than one language. Main aim of language is to transfer ideas and aid in communication. Thank you Dhani’s for tips. Those are very useful.

Dhanya!! Completely agreeing to the point. You know what I have been attending interview for years and made a kind of accent for the American companies. Accent issues made me rejected from them. Always neutral accent is comfortable and convinent. We are Malayalis and I hope in India more than us no one can speak and understand English better than us. It's because of our educational systems. I have a point, I know 5 languages including Kannada and even like you I used to mix up. People are facing difficulties to communicate because of less interaction. Reading, interaction, listening etc.... can make someone good at communication I guess.

If my Goan and Kochin collegues with Anglo - Indian back grounds hear this ?
They use many unwanted and awkward ''sounds'' (they think its American or British)in their conversations and makes their time with clients horrible.

I can not understand Malayalam, but the way you mix your regional language with English and a little bit Hindi is quite excellent. Your fluency in English is impressive. Your accent and vocabulary in English is quite praiseworthy. You are doing a job which our teachers should do in the classrooms. Keep it up.

    Happiness Project 💞
The Dhanya Varma show on kappa TV was extrapolated to its peak with trollers taking a toll on the interview with Madona the cine star who blew herself a bit out of proportion. That has nothing to do with me 🤫 but I instantly fell in love with this anchor ,ended up watching quite a lot HAPPINESS PROJECT ( the name of the show)
A recent vlog on her takeaways from the series .. rated her interview with MAITHRAN the so called MODERN MAN of the era the best . I had watched this one ,bewildered with that concept which I've never heard & the quest to know more about him did a lot google on him. Anyways Dhanya usually ends her show asking the guest what happiness means to them..for a moment I put myself on that hot seat.
My thoughts 🥰. ...I went into a deep introspection...when did tears roll of my eyes in ecstasy...usually it accompanied me more in my sorrows...loosing my good friends was always that broke my heart...I've wet my pillows endless nights when a high school student as I left my boarding school...my friends were always so dear to me, I cherish friendship....but..some got me wrong , some coupled religion and politics to friendship, for some its occasional , am I to blame , did I always go for the wrong one or any probs with me ❓.Even today in this era of WhatsApp Friendship, someone exit the group I get hurt...oh ! Ended up with sorrows in this Happiness project😊
With a firm determination to be HAPPY from all insight squeezed from the so called Happy people A single mantra 'Be happy for the little things in life'...I was all set 🤩. Here comes a call...my TWINS KUNJUNGAL Anitha & Anjali
Recap...Anitha & Anjali ...I have written about them...the twins , identical rather IDEAL...but their first year marks in Chemistry were a bit low as the valuation was quite strict. I insisted all my students to take up the improvement exams but was shocked to notice these twins were reluctant. I had a word with them, briefed about the chances to take the score higher ...all fell into deaf ears as these girls just said we shall do well in the second year. Now I stood stern 'you have to appear' ....lest did I know then ..the agony these girls went through. Living in a sigle room in their uncle's house, their mother stitched to make a living...things went haywire when she sprained her back. With literally no income ...they could not afford to register for the exams. I could easily pay for it...they never let me do it ...those words still echo in my ears " miss , you taught us so well our reward to you should be our marks, taxing you by paying our fees will never be forgivable....both were weeping. As I scrolled through the results...yes !✌✌! they made it to the top...one scored 💯and the other just lost 2... marks...they paid their fees...by findung time to assist their mother in stitching. I was more thrilled when they joined for BSc Chemistry. Never an onam or a new year have i missed a greeting call from them.
Last year they came to meet us one in pink & other in green...they dress alike...they took a selfie with me on their new mobile. They take tuitions, assist their mother in stitching ...recipients of the college scholarships for their outstanding performance.
Few minutes ago I get a call ...Miss, Anithanjali...we bagged the 3rd & 8th rank in university. Tears rolled my eyes in ecstasy, I jumped, I ran around....in tears. I take no credit...I acknowledge their effort, I acknowledge their struggle, I am inspired .
As Sudha Murthy mentioned I write so it reaches my friends whom I wish I could talk too, who love to listen to me, who still find a friend in me. I write when I am HAPPY...My Happiness Project...😍☺

Accents... very tricky, if you are working in a largely indian occupied office, then Dhanya is right, no need to match with the standard English accent. The trouble comes when you are working in an office with multi-national colleagues, then one has to snap out and rise to meet a certain degree of standard English accent
You do not want to be that person whom your colleagues and bosses consider to be intelligent but hard to get through
Let us also not forget those industries where a certain accent is a prerequiste
    Ciao!

Finally found someone who gave an excellent talk on how to communicate in English. Really impressive...👍👍👍. Madam could you please make a video on how to present the things in front of an audience in a most powerful and polished way. So that you can catch their attention as well as make the people excited about the topic you are talking about. I found it is really difficult while making a presentation in front of a big crowd...
