You should think about dragging a piece of 3/8 chain about 12- 18 inches long, as an anchor on rivers like this. It slows you down, but shouldn’t stop you, to give you more casting opportunities. Wont get hung up as much as light anchor

this is random as shit, but can you try to catch trout on bass lures again, like the yum helgrammite or sqaurebill crankbait, or even skirtred jig thank you. I am a big advocate proving that trout dont only eat small stuff, that they can eat 5 inch baits, trying to prove the fly fishing world: "trout only eat small suff," is a myth. Thank you Dalton
