Woe to those who have an IQ below 130

  • Okay quick disclaimer: I am aware of the Multiple Intelligence test and that there’s different ways a person can be smart. And I’m not advocating a fixed mindset. What I’m talking about is how raw intelligence is pretty much luck because IQ can be affected by things out of your control; like the way you were raised, habits, the intelligence of your parents, if you were breastfed, and what types of food you ate as a kid. Basically things that you had no control over. Anyone has the capacity to learn information and play logic games to boost their thinking skills, but what concerns me is how IQ is what gives you a learning RATE. So in that case, kids who were gifted genetically and ended up with a 150 IQ at birth will always have an advantage over others cause they can learn faster compared to a kid who scored 80, even if they both want to learn as much as they can. And to make things worse, it seems like the lower IQ a person has, then the less desire they have to learn and grow because for them it’s too hard to keep up with geniuses who can theorize in their sleep. That and also the Dunning-Kruger effect comes into play. It’s not fair.

When I was young I was raised on a farm mostly isolated from the outside world. I went into the military at age 19. In boot camp I was tested and came back at a 144 iq just in the genius range. I was surprised to learn this. The result was i was sent to a test wing to work in research and development rewiring aircraft for all kinds of testing. In spite of this my life fell apart, divorce, drug addiction, alcohol addiction, feelings of alienation, fear, anger, anxiety and on and on. I spent a long time in therapy and 12 step programs. My intelligence got in the way more than helped, it alienated me from myself, made me critical and analytical. Understand none of this was by choice, I didnt make a decision to be this way. At the time it just was. It took 10 years for me to cry in front of someone or express true emotion without doing some mental calculation of my surroundings. Today things are good Im 58 now and live mostly free from past problems . I help others now.
So seeing you ask the questions you did in the video led me to comment. There is a good side and dark side to everything. The people you mentioned Einstein and Hawking come to mind were troubled people. The view of high IQ you talk about in the video isnt what it seems. It has advantages like anything but I would trade it for a sense of humor or perseverance in a second. The best people ive met in my life were well rounded. They had alot of qualities and were able to function as a human being with charisma, drawing others to them. Being a good storyteller will get you farther than intelligence and enhance your creativity.
I saw these qualities in your video. I then looked at your past videos to get a sense of you. Your a bright young man with some excellent qualities of curiosity, creativity, adventure, risk taking, showing who you really are to the world. It is a pleasure to see a young person doing the right things with a bright future if you continue asking the questions and not settling for just any answer. Keep posting videos ignore the view counts and you will benefit in many ways you cant see yet.
    good luck

I think that's a misconception, you can have a high I.Q. and still be well rounded, charasmatic, funny etc. Many high I.Q. people who are not socially adjusted or conflicted can of course still live miserable lonely lives, especially those who have a high I.Q. and are on the autism spectrum.

I'm still insisting on this one, and I know you are still too :) We can't change ourselves. It goes agains't our own being. I believe we with the IQ 130+ are naturally potential explorers and makers but our State of mind can frustrate us and I'm constantly looking for that State of mind, and you know which one I'm talking about, when in our minds we can see clear as a picture all the details, all in a holistic way how or whatever we want things to be and we know how to get there and not just get there, but get there with excelency because just getting there isn't enough. That state is what I'm constantly trying to stay in, but then obviously the 'troubles' that come with the gifted are big and difficult enough to make things harder in reality, but as our mind still has that image cristal clear then we start to blame ourselves and negative emotions take over. It's the eternal battle that I hope at the end of my life I will be able to look back and recognize the many achievements we make and sometimes don't want to see them because they were not as perfect as they were in our minds. Anything the mind can conceive, the mind can achieve.

You are not surprised when top-tier athletes are faster or stronger than most people due to their hard work and genetics, so it is also reasonable to assume that some people have 'better' brains. High IQ individuals can learn things faster because IQ measures processing power. Different people require different amounts of time to learn the same thing. No matter what you do, even with the same amount of training, you will never match Usain Bolt's height and muscle power in a 100m race. Lastly, IQ is not a measure of worth.

The median IQ of a university Graduate is 115 hardly an earth shattering number. there is a you tube video of 6 random people, from a PhD to a Marine Corps High School grad mixed with a Yale Grad and Harvard Grad and Grads from a few other Colleges. They took IQ tests after the six people ranked where they would score. Look it up--the results will astonish you!

      World average: 100
      Student average: 115.
      PhD student average: 130.
But this varies from country to country, as the average IQ varies.

High intelligence doesn't bring contentment. Nothing wrong with wanting to improve, but there's something to be said for finding contentment in the life you have. I think it's better to be a good man, than a smart man. The good man leaves a legacy, and is remembered by those with whom he came in contact.
Intelligence is not the most important trait of a human being. I tested once at 115, and i'm okay with it! It doesn't take a genius to be a decent person, and make a difference.

Also, the brain is like the body. You might not have the best genetics, but training makes a huge difference. It is like going to the gym. You can be a spaghetti, but if you go to the gym you will get stronger and way more muscular than a guy who was born naturally strong but never trained. If you really motivated, you have no idea how high you can get. The best training in the world is studying physics. Even if you need 20 years to get a bachelor's degree, you will understand no less than a smart guy who got it in 4 years. You should make that a hobby. Spend all your free time learning math, physics an philosophy. it is all about motivation, and you seem pretty motivated. Do not compare yourself to others. Go at your own pace, it is a personal journey, not a competition about who gets there the fastest. I like you man. People today do not appreciate rational thinking anymore.

So here is my comment. At school(especially middle school) I was always viewed as "the smart child", when nobody knew the answer teacher always asked me. And for me IQ is something I really hate. I usually score around 115-120 but it is still not really high. I became obsessed with grades and making myself look smart. It is still really important to me. I want to be still viewed as smart but the truth is I struggle sometimes, math is hell for me from time to time. My brother is gifted (125-130). And sometimes it hurts to be the dumber child even though I am trying really hard. It is the worst feeling. I am trying so hard to achieve something but at the same time I will never be as smart as him. And there I am obsessed with studying having panic attack before test shaking and sometimes even crying because I need to prove my worth. In like 80% of the time I was getting straight As but I was still not satisfied with my resault.

You can train memory and for example to some degree study figure reasoning problems and improve your ability to solve those. That might give you a couple of extra points on IQ tests. But yes, you are dealt some skills by chance. When it comes to higher IQ, remember it does not mean you are a better person, often it means you are less happy, because you have a harder time finding people who understands you. When it comes to fairness, it is not really a useful way of looking at IQ, babies with the capability to be IQ 150 adults die in conflicts or by disease too. Kids with a high IQ, not recognized in school often end up being antisocial and dropping out of school, not getting a job or education. Play the hand you are dealt as well as you can, and by many different measures you can be happier and have more succes than people with higher and lower IQ.

Don't think to much in limits kid. Just take baby steps. Stretch your mind liiitle by little. You are still young. You still got time. You've still got tremendous neuroplasticity up until 25. Which simply means your brains can still devolop A LOT. Find the thing that REALLY interests you in life and decide to become the best you can possibly be in it. Be willing to put in the work and enjoy every little bit of progress you make along thw way. Just keep chugging away and don't think in limits.
If you want to get smarter there are 2 main components to it. 1 memory, practise memorizing more and bigger things. Numbers, words, concepts. And to think mkre abstract you'll have to learn more about abstract things like math and physics or even coding. This helps to lay a foundational pathway in your brain for a specific, quantitative way of thinking. I wish you all the best and just keep going and NEVER, EVER let ANYBODY get you down. WHAT SO EVER. Just remember, learning is fun! You've got this, man!
Oh, and don't forget to read every day. 30 min is plenty imo, if you are also doing other stuff to develop yourself and your brain. If 30 is stil a but much start with just 5 min, or even 1 or 2 min. But do it EVERY DAY :)

IQ is a small component to any success and is NOT required to actually BE successful. Some ideas and thought processes come easier but that can be replaced with effort. High IQ without the energy or drive to apply it is wasted. The world is not driven by IQ, its driven by effort and the practical application of ideas. A lazy genious is worthless and can even be considered a crime. Just be better than you were the day before. You are the only measuring stick you need to beat. It breaks my heart to hear a kiddo think this way. I have entire books in my head, but i havent managed to produce a single one. I can out think most people in very technical positions and it means nothing because i dont have the paper to support it. Short people can be good at basketball. Slow people can hit home runs. Find something you like and become a badass with it. Feed your brain. Sometimes genious can be found in simple ideas that anyone can come up with.

He got brain damage at 5 years old then overcame it.

I know his methods, am working on them. I know they work for speed learning, not sure about reasoning: IQ etc.
Jonathan Levi has very similar methods. He's doing well.

We are limited by our capacity to learn. A quart jar can't hold a gallon. It is not logical to expect that every vessel from 100 potters should be equal. After all, the skills of the potters will vary, too.

  • @gaurexmulay3996
    @gaurexmulay3996 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Bro IQ is just for measuring how well you can learn but it doesn't tell if you'll be successful or not and thing is definition of success is different for different people.
For example let's say a rich man has everything in his life but fails to get the girl that he loves so in his eyes he failed despite having everything, whether as someone who doesn't have lot of money but has the love of his life is successful. So definition of success varies you don't have to look at other people you'll have to find your success.
And tbh I've seen a lot of people with higher iq who didn't get by well in their lives so its what you make of it .
So go find your own success. Have faith in yourself and don't focus on iq bs.

    • @lachlanB323
      @lachlanB323 2 ปีที่แล้ว

Yeah that's true it doesn't decide whether your successful or not. But you also don't see people with low IQ in the most successful people. You may also notice some if the most successful people have ADHD or Autism. Elon Musk has Autism. Albert Einstein had ADHD and so does Bill Gates.

    • @lachlanB323
      @lachlanB323 2 ปีที่แล้ว

IQ basically means your potential success limit. But most people don't even come close to that so the biggest thing to be successful is what you do with your time. The most successful people ever have an high IQ and made excellent life decisions.

    • @gaurexmulay3996
      @gaurexmulay3996 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

You do have a point but thing is let's face it not everyone can be Elon musk or Einstein, the end goal of life should be happiness and people can be happy even if they're not that much successful, that's why I said "find your own success" it doesn't have to be on par with Elon musk or Bill gates. And iq measures only one part of intelligence, someone can be really bad at math but Can be a really great sportsman working out different game tactics or someone with superior musical skills can be bad at physics and maths. A business executive who has low iq but is great at reading people can be successful. It can predict success using data collected but it can't prophecies it.

@@frog6054 Life can't be fair or unfair, because it's not a game with rules. No rules, no standards; it simply is what it is. Rules and standards are human inventions, not inherent properties of nature. You're describing the nature of unfortunate circumstances, not rules by which you can deem something to be fair or unfair.
If you compete in a sport where there are rules prohibiting steroids and someone wins by using them, that's unfair because you're entitled by the rules to compete on a level playing field where nobody has a special advantage. Being born into poverty or a war-torn country is just unfortunate circumstances. Nobody is born entitled to a rich or struggle-free life; there is no rule that says you're born entitled to those things. "Fair" means in accordance with rules or standards; if there is no rule that says you''re entitled to be wealthy or secure, then it's not unfair if you're born into poverty and war.
In shitty circumstances, complaining about how it violates your sense of equity doesn't help anything; you have to use what is available to you and make the best of your situation either by bearing it or by changing it. If you complain about how it's "unfair", you're assuming that you're entitled to something, and then you're just playing the victim.
You have a computer, you have food, you have shelter, you have various skills, resources and opportunities. You have more than most people. Use those things to make the best of your circumstances and be the best person you can be. That's all any of us have in this life. If you don't use what you have to better your life, that's your fault, nobody else's.
Do you think people born into wealth don't have problems? Everybody's life is their burden; it isn't any easier for the rich than for the poor. If you're poor, you have to worry about how you're going to make enough to survive; if you're rich, you have to worry about how you're going to keep your money and find some purpose and struggle in life so that it doesn't become utterly meaningless. Either way, it's a struggle to survive. In fact, it's harder being rich because more money = more problems. When you're poor, nobody cares about you; when you're rich, everybody is trying to take you down. It's also harder to keep money than it is to get it.
Nobody gets an easy ride. Everybody has their cross to bear. What you do with yours is entirely up to you. You can carve art into it and break it up and turn it into a go cart instead of carrying it on your back and complaining about the splinters, or use it as a ladder to scale a wall. Whatever. The point is, when you get lemons, you don't complain about the lack of something to drink; you make lemonade. If you want steak, then you sell the lemonade and buy one.
Your problem isn't not knowing what you have, it's not knowing what to do with it. That's something you have to figure out for yourself, just like everybody else. Either that, or you're so focused on what you don't have that you don't look at what you do have.
When you point your finger at someone else's faults, you have three fingers pointing back at your own. It works the same with things that you have and don't have. Stop looking at what others have and look at what you have, because it's the only way you're ever going to get what others have, assuming it's something you can even possess.
This guy wasn't born with genius intelligence. So what? He can't even fathom that world, so he doesn't even know what he's missing or if he would find it better or worse than what he has. I, on the other hand, qualify for Triple 9 Society membership. Genius is all I know; it's my norm, just like his average intelligence is his. I process things a little better than him, but I don't know any more than he does, and there will always be things I struggle with. Everyone's experience is equally subjective; they can't be compared like objective results.
You have to find strength and comfort in the box you were born in, because it's the only box you're ever going to be in, no matter how much you remove from it or put in it. He doesn't need to be a genius and have musical talent to enjoy his life, just like I don't need to have less of those things to enjoy mine. The same applies to you, in every regard. You make yourself unhappy worrying about what's in other people's boxes instead of worrying about what you can put in your own. Be inspired by other people's accomplishments to achieve your own; don't envy them theirs, because you're not them and you will never have their success, because that's a personally tailored thing.

Of course there is no rule but there is some luck involved, and we all should be aware of that. We are all alive because of luck anyway, even though I didn't really asked to be alive. What the hell can I do with the "resources" that I have when I can't do it and have 0 interest on it? You already know your strength early in your life, I wish was that lucky. The IQ test is over 100 years old and was concocted for the Military. They needed a test to measure a persons' intelligence for Military duty. They are accurate but not absolutely precise. It turns out that the test (two types) have shown that an IQ score of 82 and below can not perform basic military functions, even with extended training. They also found out that 10% of the population falls below the standard. This is important for times when the Military needs to ramp up quickly during war time. The Country can't waste money, time and speed is of the essence. Flawed? No way. The big problem is if a person can't function in the Military, they can't function in modern society. I am not putting down people that have a low IQ--I feel for them. My belief is everyone is better at something useful than ANY other person on earth. There are so many ways to calculate potential and intellect. IQ Is a display of how fast you pick up information. Just because my IQ is 132 does not mean I will be more or even equally successful and fulfilled than a person with a base IQ of 105. Remember theres EQ, IQ , creativity , problem solving . IQ is one measure , also to the boy in the video , high IQ can be seen as a disadvantage to some , as me and everyone else i know with a high IQ is either severely depressed , or has some mental illness that complicates their life. I’ve never done an IQ test and saw the results, and I’m kinda happy I did that cause I feel like we all have a role in society so that makes us all important in some way. Steve Jobs for example was appreciated by his intelligence but was a terrible father and a terrible boss, he did not have his emotional intelligence developed! His daughter said his last words to her was “I own you one”, he only started to realize and grow in his last years of life. So Because of that I’m trying not worry about my intelligence so much but I’m still very in tune with myself and people around me in an emotional way, it’s very easy for me to understand what’s the problem and how to fix it. Society is only now learning to truly appreciate more emotional intelligence in people. But what I’m trying to say is, to not worry so much about how high is your score in an IQ test and understand that your role might not be as visible as people with higher intelligence but it’s still very much needed! Self growth is much more important for us to feel content and happy with our lives if that’s what u want.

This means when I work, the mathematical and logical part of job comes easy and natural but anything i write or read I need to go over and recheck/reread 3 times over to not make mistakes. This made my college days a hell where I needed to study 10 times more than others just to pass the written exams. Also Einstein couldn't even tie his shoes. His wife did it for him.

First of all, I am sorry for my English skills, it is not my main language and I am not fluent in any way. I tested my IQ with my twin brother a year ago and I had an IQ of 121 and he was 129. You maybe can be asking how it is possible that my IQ was lower although we are twins. I think the biggest reason is our different birthweight because it is one of the best predictors of IQ. I was only 2.3 kg when I was born and my brother was 2.7kg and that is really interesting, because if you do simple math... My twin was born with 0,4 more kg and he has 8 points of IQ more than I had myself. That can mean that if I was born with the same weight I would have probably the same IQ, if we were doing the same thing, in the same environment, same hobbies, friends, etc. If we weren't born twins and I was a single child. Let's say I would be born with an average birth weight of 3,5kg, I could hypothetically have an IQ of 137 at the time I was taking the test with my twin.
That is just one interesting thing about IQ
Then I tested my IQ again 2 days ago and it was 135. My twin brother did the test too and his score was 108 and that is a really interesting situation. My brother was always a smart child, he had the best grades in our school (or at least of the best) even though he was never or very little studying. He was great at math and he could calculate in his mind very quickly and precisely... I want to like him, but I wasn't receiving as good grades as him, wasn't that good with numbers, etc.
You may be asking how is it possible that I have a better score than him at this moment? I have been really trying to raise my IQ and I read every opinion, fact, studies about this topic and took the action on some of the things that were suggested and that I felt like I could have some impact.
These are things I did that raised my IQ from 121 to 135 within not even a year...
    1. I eat really healthy. I don't eat junk food at all or rarely. I eat walnuts every day, my mom is making my sandwich with salmon for school and vegetables, I eat a lot of fruit (mainly bananas and oranges), white yogurts and the list goes on...
    2. I started to play chess
    3. I started to take cold showers (beneficial because it improves your blood flow)
    4. I started to be interested in physic and the universe (I read books, watch youtube videos, and talk about different theories with my dad)
    5. I started to do Nikola Tesla's feet exercise before sleep at the same volume as he did
    6. I started running
    7. I started image streaming and daydreaming
    8. I started taking notes about my thoughts
By this method, I increase my IQ by 14 points in like 10 months. Thank you.

I played chess for 6 years and 200 tournaments.
I must say that it is extremely effective but there are some keys.
Think of it as muscle training:
      1. You make intense effort until you are close to failure or fatigue.
      2. You rest until you are completely restored.
      3. You repeat.
It's not about studying openings or endings, or improving as a player in any way. The important thing is cognitive effort in sufficiently intense sessions and good rest afterwards.
Of course you must accompany it with very nutritious and low-toxic foods.
Physical training can help to a lesser extent, but it should be noted that it also requires mental effort.
The desired result is to enhance basic cognitive characteristics: memory, speed and reliability; Endurance is desirable, but it is easily enough.
On the other hand. It is necessary to form habits with good algorithms. Otherwise all cognitive power will be wasted in inefficient efforts.
One of the biggest problems of the world's intellect is biases. It is very important to get rid of any cognitive errors you have.
The important effect of tournaments goes beyond training intensity. The intensity can be trained with a computer engine. But it takes those situations under pressure to get nerves of steel. This leads to maximum performances even under pressure.

Another advantage of chess is that it has an effect similar to meditation. It serves both to maximize concentration and to refine abstraction. You can ignore all external stimuli that get in the way and you easily enter "the zone"
      ----------
The only negative is losing a little lateral thinking in terms of thought paths.
      ----------
On the other hand. I recommend programming. It is where many of the most efficient algorithms known to humanity can be found. Logic is taken to very high levels and data is manipulated under very convenient concepts.
Many benefits can be obtained from all mathematics. I would highlight vectors, matrices, geometry, discrete mathematics, pre-calculus.
It is also good to train fine motor skills and senses. It is no use being intelligent but getting bad data from the senses. Spatial intelligence must be polished a lot. It is very useful to avoid junk data and the waste of consequent mental processes. Errors can lead to small cognitive biases.
An important warning: if you abandon mental training, a very large part of the trained intelligence is lost very quickly.
(not to be confused with the loss of fluid intelligence that occurs with age)

If I were you I would not feel that bad. Large intelligence and huge amounts of knowledge are not enough for happiness. I feel immense pleasure in having a great understanding of the general theory of relativity. I likely even understand it better than Einstein thanks to the work of other people after him who advanced our understanding of it. However, I am miserable. I hope I was never born. Intelligence does not bring happiness. I would choose the blue pill 100% of the time. Plus you seem pretty wise.

While IQ is a good indicator of quite a few things ― I'm also doubting quite the whole thing. I know it sounds weird - but I'll explain.
First - what is certain. For instance - Cognitive Types, such as: MBTI, ADHD, Autism etc. Each MBTI Type, for instance ― has 4 (Combined)Functions, and thus their strength, potentially ― & doesn't have the Opposite Orientation Functions, and thus - doesn't have those Strengths\Abilities. For instance - my main Function - is Ni(Intuition) ― which functions some times as a Talent, and sometimes even as a Savant(Absolute) ability. And that means I don't have Ne(Creativity). But it also doesn't mean - that you can't develop the General Ability. For instance - I have ‘countless’ ideas for Paintings, and did some other types of Art. For me - Creativity is on the Outside, and I'm using my Functions to Identify Potential in it(for instance - random images); which is a Strength in my Type. So you'll need to find a different way to achieve that. You seem to be an INTP, and maybe have Autism.
Now, here is my main reason to kind of dismiss IQ as a whole. As a whole, not a particular Trait ― I have the ability to reach the highest levels - in Anything. And the way I perceive it ― is that it all looks the Same to me; I mean the Underlying Principles of all these things, and the same Method essentially. So I don't see what anything like IQ or Intelligence - has to do with it. Feel free to continue the conversation, anyone.
As to the Rate of Learning ― that also very much depends on how it is Thought; which is currently - very Badly and only a very few types of Methods to Learn. That's mostly because TPTB want to keep their Power. And my method is Exponential; so in the end - it doesn't matter where you start.

      Cool.
Yeah, I wasn't sure about the INTP. I can identify people by Intuition mainly. Am an INFJ. I'm working on advancing the MBTI theory.
I'm glad my comment didn't disappear; cause that's a thing now.
I'll add to my previous comment ― that the Brain doesn't seem to have a limit of the Information it can learn, essentially Memory; definitely not for what you may actually need to learn. So it's mainly a matter of - How to learn. But of course - there can also be physical limitations. ...It's a bit complicated :-J.
IQ though - I think is mostly the result of how much they progressed. MBTI IQ statistics BTW - indicate that Strongly!

There are infinite dimensions of intelligence. More gifted people occupy higher dimensional subspaces within that region than average people. The lower dimensional subspace might not be contained strictly inside the higher dimensional one, so it is possible for the average person to see something that the more gifted person doesn't. Higher IQ reflects higher dimensional intelligence, which reflects more degrees of freedom and therefore a greater likelihood to be able to perform the intended reasoning process for getting IQ test questions "right." But everyone occupies a different subspace of intelligence so we can all learn from each other.

Man, pattern recognition is the key of learning. I.Q. isn't the answer that you're looking for. I.Q. is a building block material of learning. I have met some really smart dumb people and I have met some really dumb smart people. What people are lacking or not lacking throughout the I.Q. numbers is common sense. Common sense is what you're searching for. I did notice a pattern of Newton, Tesla and Einstein that they had in common. They choose science instead of their sex drive. The body has more energy for the brain if you don't waste it on a chemical discharge. Thinks I have learn throughout life. Leave you with four things
Elon Musk reason by first principles, not by analogy.
"To know that you do not know is the best, to think you know when you do not is a disease. Recognizing this disease is to be free of it." Lao Tzu
"The same level of thinking that created the problem won't solve the problem." Einstein

@Obtuse Recluse Not really sure if you took common sense as common knowledge. Give an example from my job. Main circulating pump trips. Which open up the the steam turbine generator breaker. Steam is now going to atmosphere due to the bypasses going to the condenser is now tripped due to the circ water isn't going through the condenser. The person with the lack of common sense is going to freeze and lock up. It is really LOUD. How to navigate through this scenario, reduce your power on the gas turbine, which will reduce how quick the system is producing steam. Due to the steam is being thrown in the atmosphere, and there is so much that the pump can pump to fill the steam drums. Maybe only have a minute or two tops to deal with this situation, not to come up with a plan, but deal with the situation. One would need the knowledge of course, but would need the common sense to navigate through the situation. Seen it repeatedly in the navy nuke plants when drills where ran. Some people had it and some people didn't on operating. And that is what I believe "it" is common sense. I'm far from dumb, but I'm far from smart.

  • @brindlebriar

You're using the wrong metric of _value,_ in my opinion. Intelligence is just brain brawn. It helps one human dominate another human, and also helps humans dominate nature in order to overcome scarcity. In that later function it is net positive for humans, but we've long since conquered natural scarcity anyway. In the former function it is net-neutral in value. It helps the good person be good about equally as much as it helps the bad person be bad. Just as bigger muscles help the good brute be good, and helps the bad brute be bad.
Just as larger size and physical strength come with downsides, such that we did not evolve to be bigger and stronger than we are; just so, higher intelligence comes with down sides, such that we have not evolved to be more intelligent that we are. We have to conclude that more intelligence is probably maladaptive, at least when opportunity costs like caloric allocation are taken into account.
So what is the proper metric of valuation for human beings? There's only one, and it's kindness - though people use other names: Compassion, love...
If you know how to be kind, you know how to be as good as the #1 best other person on the plant. Better than all the people you mention as having high IQs.
The grass always looks greener on the other side. The woman with curly hair wants straight hair, and visa versa. The man with a smaller body wants to be taller with bigger muscles, until famine hits and the big guy starves, because his body requires 3x as many calories... or he needs to hide and can't fit in a small space. People with high IQs, I think wish they were either _even_ smarter, or dumber. We all tend to notice the benefits of having what we don't have, but not the drawbacks. With high intelligence comes neuroticism, depression, extreme loneliness, the inability to have friends, to find a lover with whom you can have any interests in common. Rates of suicide go up. Happiness goes down. Intelligence sucks beyond a certain level.
We evolved to be social creatures, and high intelligence auto-ostracizes one from any random-sample collective. For this brief moment in history it may be possible to find peers at academic institutions with whom to form friendships, but that is not going to last very much longer. Civilization will crumble soon, a nd even if it doesn't, the University system has become thoroughly discredited and obsolete. And even in that ideal moment of history, the pressure on the academician to out-compete his peers was so great that the net effect on happiness for all but the top 1% can not have been very positive.
Highest happiness belongs to the maximally average persons, as they find themselves most easily at the center of a society.
So, my advice is, forget IQ, and think about your hypothetical EQ (Empathy Quotient.) Or just how to maximize being a good person. That you can control, and that is the metric that matters. And in doing that, you'll be more likely to maximize your potential happiness as well.
