One thing I learned from my dad is to use dental floss, doubled, for sewing on buttons. He learned this in the navy. (WWII Navy Air) Dental floss is stronger than thread & holds up longer in wet situations, too. Dad was a 17 year old enlisted young man who had to learn to sew quickly! LOL! He learned this from his ‘old’ superior officer, who was 22. 😂 Dad passed on in June 1999 from cancer. A man gone long before his time. 😢 He was the best dad ever! ❤
My condolences to you. My parents have passed on to and I miss them dearly. May you find some peace in your memories and the lessons your Dad left you with. 🙏💙🙏 Thanks for the dental floss tip, I will forever use it whenever sewing buttons.
This is a great tiny project. There are some grocery stores that require a quarter to get a shopping cart so this a great idea. Thank you for sharing. 💜🙏🏻
I just mailed a few of these to a cousin and her kids - and they couldn’t believe how cute the keychains were! 💕 Thank you, Jayda, for bringing joy not only to your fan base, but to the recipients down the road as well. 💕💕💕
This would also be a sweet little gift pouch for a necklace or earrings. I used to work with really greasy food and would need a spot to hold my wedding ring till I left; this little holder would have been a lifesaver! If you make it a bit longer, it could hold chapstick or a roll of currency. Really fun little project! Thank you, Jayda! 💕
Call Jada what a great idea. Airfare for handicapped transportation riders is $2.50, this looks large enough tall two quarters. So what a great idea I will try and make one for each one of my friends.
How perfect is your timing!; Walmart just brought back the locked buggies... it's a Loonie, but this will work. I have a bad back and have been forced to drag around those tiny wheeled baskets, trying to fit in paper towel and such because there was no warning to bring a buck.😮😊I'm an outdoorsy Tom boy, and I don't carry a purse. Thank you for this Jayda dahlink 🤗👍🇨🇦✌️
Hi Charlie! You could likely clip this to your key ring or even belt. I went through a phase where I wanted everything clipped to my belt... occasionally I still do 😁 I like to be hands free!! I think this should fit a loonie, but if not, add 1 more chain/stitch to the row and possibly 1 more row 💗
Hi Jayda! This is adorable. I'm making a hexagon granny cardigan right now. My first sweater ever! I hope it turns out! Thank you for all your videos! ❤❤❤
Aldi’s in the US and Lidl, in the Netherlands and some ASDA, Tesco and Marks and Spencer groceries in the UK have carts with quarter slots to keep the carts in the corrals ❤
@@JaydaInStitches I believe it helps the cashiers/stockers get paid higher (around 19-20 dollars per hour) because they don’t have to pay people to clear the parking lots. Good for everyone 😊
Love this! What an easy and quick project! I am going to add to my project list for gifts. We shop at Aldi’s here that require a quarter to grab a cart. Thank you Jayda🙌👏☺️
I made one without a pattern but it was to quiet my dog's tags. Only changes were the ring was one that was a lanyard latch that was able to rotate freely. I opted for a smaller button in case my Husky tried to eat it. I know his personality with clothing and things on his collar but you can never be too safe with animals.
Oooh! Jayda! This is so awesome! I've been thinking about trying to come up with a pattern for a quarter keeper! You can buy them at Aldi but they're like $2 a piece and not as well made. Thank you for this! I make key chain lip balm holders too. This quarter keeper will be a great addition to my key chain! 😊 Now I can go get your pattern!
Hi! If it's strong (and hemp usually is) then that would be great! If the hemp isn't a thick enough yarn (to match this size 4 weight) then you can add more stitches to the row and more rows to the project 💗
Hi Amanda! This little keeper is about 2.5 cm square. I am unfamiliar with the size of a British Pound, but if you need it to be larger, add 1 more chain/stitch to the row and possibly 1 more row 💗
Hello, I was wondering what type of cotton you would use for bath puffs. I have tried to make three and they were a 100% cotton but they don't bubble up when you use your shower gel. Please can you help. Thank you Karen in England

Absolutely! I think you can Velcro that glues on and Velcro that is sewn on. In the interest of it being more permanent, I would recommend the Velcro that is sewn on😊
Hi Chrissy, I used 24/7 cotton by lion brand. It's strong, smooth, won't pill and is washable (not to mention it comes in a ton of pretty colours too) 😊

I love the idea of putting your rings in it when working -out at the gym
Good idea!

Hey Jayda, not only good at a gym, but doing dishes or at the bathroom sink for your rings…
Thanks! ❤️

Hi Kathy! That's a great idea! I think this should fit a couple of quarters, but if not, add 1 more chain/stitch to the row and possibly 1 more row 💗
Jayda, you think about everything even the smallest item🧶
💗 It was a requested item! I like coming up with solutions for things 😊
This keychain is so cute!!!! Thank you for the tutorial!!! Greetings from Brisbane/Australia
Hi Alice! Thank you for watching 😊
Jayda!!!! I really need a little pouch for my rings. Great idea!!!!
Hi Gioia! I can't stand it when they get lost in my purse, I think I've actually LOST them!

Great suggestion Shelli!
Hi Jayda! This is adorable. I'm making a hexagon granny cardigan right now. My first sweater ever! I hope it turns out! Thank you for all your videos! ❤❤❤
Hi Linda! It will! Just keep trying the first hexagon "on" by folding it over your arm and shoulder 💗
I’m in New York always scrounging for a quarter at Aldi thank you jayda
Hi Arlene! You're so welcome 💗
I love this, thank you! I'm ready for Aldi's 🙂
Perfect!
This is great. It would really help me to not accidentally spend my designated shopping cart quarter 😂
I have the same issue with the designated quarter! 😂 It never speaks up & tells me it’s the Aldi Quarter. 😆🙄😊
* giggle * I tend to spend my change too, I don't want it "weighing me down" 😂
Aldi’s in the US and Lidl, in the Netherlands and some ASDA, Tesco and Marks and Spencer groceries in the UK have carts with quarter slots to keep the carts in the corrals ❤
I think it's a good practice, certainly it must help make people want to return the carts!

Hi Linda, you're welcome!
Darling little project!!
Thank you 😊
Our 1 and 2 dollar coins would fit in them too.
❤from Australia, thank you
Hi Sharon! Perfect! If it doesn't quite fit, add 1 more chain/stitch to the row and possibly 1 more row 💗
@@JaydaInStitches 🧶🌟😊
So cute! I wonder if it fits AirTags!❤
Hi Blossom! that's a great idea! If you need it bigger, add more chains/stitches to the row and a couple more rows 💗
This is absolutely adorable, Jayda! I’m going to make several. Thanks!
Wonderful! Thank you for watching 😊
Have you ever crocheted with a fine hemp cord? I have - dog leashes etc - and i thonk it would be great for this project.

Cute.... wonder how big is a quarter🤔.... different currency here
This works out to be 2.5 cm square (with a little give) so if your coin/ring/earrings fits inside that measurement it should work 💗

Love this❤❤❤❤❤
Hi! Thank you for watching 😊
Lovely mini project. Thank you! What size is your quarter? We have euros.
Hi Nina, this is about 2.5 cm square, so if your Euro fits in that, perfect. If not: add 1 more chain/stitch to the row and possibly 1 more row 💗

Would Velcro work good on this instead of using a button?
Absolutely! I think you can Velcro that glues on and Velcro that is sewn on. In the interest of it being more permanent, I would recommend the Velcro that is sewn on😊

Sneaky crochet 😁
Can someone please recommend a yarn brand for this project, thank you

Emergency stitch marker holder.
As well as a perfect Aldi's quarter holder.
