- Keegan Swenson crushing the Unbound 2023 mud section and on to an overall victory in the UNBOUND Gravel 200. This mud section came within the first 20 miles of the race and really set the tone for the rest of the day. Totally time for the Unbound 200 was just over 10hrs this year!

Any riders know how many mud sections there are? I'm planning on doing the 200 if I win the lottery. I'm running 50mm tires with a shock fork. The shock fork is heavy, but it helps so much with bad terrain. The side effect is you lose watts into it when climbing. Anyone who's done the race have any suggestions on bicycle type?
havent done it, but have good friends that have. Unfortunately it kinda comes down to a last minute thing depending on the weather. If its super dry and the soil is hard packed, then a non-sus fork is the way to go. My suggestion is bring both if you have them, and then use your best judgement after your pre ride... hope this helps

I think somebody forgot to tell the guy running with his bike that you're supposed to ride that it would go much faster

The guy running probably got knocked over. It's hard to get started again in mud. the rider probably had some momentum from earlier terrain. The guys is running, so he isn't slacking.
