Im nof taking anyones side on this buuuuttt Midnights had 6.8mil sales by the end of 2022 where it was realeased for only a couple of months whereas Positions despite having more hype basically only sold 600K at the end of 2020.......and this was in lockdown era where everyone was STREAMING the hell out of songs. Lets exclude the vocal/lyrical appeal of these 2artists for a second and lets just ask the question of if both of them went on tour at the same time whose gonna get more ticket sales. The simple answer is taylor not because shes vocally better or even on the level of ari but people view her as the more "down to earth" celebrity of the two. @@casualllama4386 She's only leading now because all the back to back releases she's had in the past years, Ariana's last album was in 2020 and everyone knows no female singer lf today is stronger than Ariana in streaming, specially organic streaming, these sales are not real, this is how ChartMasters count record sales, they include even TH-cam streams counted in their system, it's called "CSPC" and it's a method that combine every type of stream even video streams, so technically they are not sales, Taylor doesn't have an album that has superpassed 20 million pure copies sold, but she's one of the few artists of this generation who can achieve that anyways.

She wasn't on Spotify from 2014-2017, so that helped bring her more onto Spotify as it was the 2nd album that she released directly onto the platform. There is a difference between sales and pure sales. Pure sales are physicals or digital downloads of an album, and Taylor would be leading in pure sales anyways. ChartMasters is still a reliable source, just because it has a formula that counts streams doesn't completely invalidate it.

They both do what the gotta do, to be as insanely successful as they both are. If yall are so secure about your fav, you wouldn't feel the need to invalidate the success of other extremely popular artists.

Im nof taking anyones side on this buuuuttt
Midnights had 6.8mil sales by the end of 2022 where it was realeased for only a couple of months whereas Positions despite having more hype basically only sold 600K at the end of 2020.......and this was in lockdown era where everyone was STREAMING the hell out of songs. Lets exclude the vocal/lyrical appeal of these 2artists for a second and lets just ask the question of if both of them went on tour at the same time whose gonna get more ticket sales. The simple answer is taylor not because shes vocally better or even on the level of ari but people view her as the more "down to earth" celebrity of the two. By this i mean she isnt the standard definition of a DIVA. Shes got a outgoing and bubbly personality even with random people in the street and has songs that everyone can sing while still having a deeper meaning behind them. Shes just all about FUN (although i will admit some corruption went into her career cough cough taylors first album IYKYK) but either or theyre both richer than us so what does our opinion matter anyhow.
