3 yrs later, the video still helps!!....got my 2017 GS w/Z06 grill 2 months ago; it didn't come with a front plate bracket but needed in my state (purchased 5 states from home). Was hard to find the proper GS bracket but finally 1) found the correct Part # 22830070 (missed it at 6:02 mark after watching this vid about 4x and thanks Corvette C7 Forum); 2) issues with delivery from an Ebay vendor (fault of USPS), 3) wrong parts/bracket from one dealer (uh, I don't have a Stingray); got the parts together from a 2nd dealer surprisingly and I installed. Totally agree that attaching the retainers were HARD and in the back of your mind you are begging not to break anything! Thanks Rick and Chuck!!! I am fully street legal now!!!
Extremely helpful information. My dealership was giving me the run around. Anyone know if that part number came with the attachment clips? Can't seem to find an answer.

Great info on the license plate holder. TX requires a front plate but you get one warning when you run w/o a front plate. After that warning you will get a ticket. Good to know the bracket fits the Grand Sport so well.

Its always great to see you and Chuck working together. That's great advice and it look so easy to use and install. Its a lot better then drilling small holes in your front bumper cover to Mount your front plate.
Thankfully, we don't have a front license plate in NC. But it's good information anyway. I'm just impressed you were able to stand up straight again after doing the outtakes portion of the shot. LOL.

Great video Rick I live in Michigan so I don't need the front plate but great video. I know guys in Michigan that do have one on the front they put a custom plate in the front.

In Texas we r required to have a front license plate. 😕 thanks for the quick tip.
I have a bracket that mounts on the front threaded tow hole. I modified the bracket bit so it wouldn’t make contact with the front end.
I probably would not of bought this had I of seen this video 8 months ago. Hopefully I won’t get a ticket for no front plate as everyone says don’t put it on. Thank you for the video.
I recently picked up my first corvette ever. Its a 2019 Grand Sport Sebring Orange and ill be buying this license plate holder so my vette can be legal 😉 👍🏼thanks a bunch.
THANK YOU RICK AND CHUCK!!! I have been trying to find a video of the correct installation of the two fasteners onto the front license plate bracket. I am a woman and it’s a little tough to snap it on. Others have posted a video but they don’t actually show how the fastener snaps on. A million thanks to both of you! Update to my comment, I just snapped the fasteners on and now the license plate bracket is on my Corvette! Geez, how easy was that!! Thanks again!

Rick thanks for showing my car. Debating on putting on the front plate. Ohio should offer a option to allow no front plate. They are looking for tax revenue for roads so at registration pay say $20 for a sticker to allow no front plate.

Thank you for this! I bought a C7 recently from a private party and he included both types of license plate brackets (which he didn't use). Now I understand how that grill one is supposed to install.

It’s a darn shame, Rick’s not using clickbait , pointless mods and time waisting daily vlogs like the big You tubers do. But I stopped watching all of those click bait, 10:02 Long videos guys who do a lot of talking about things they dreamt up.

I do prefer the body colored rear quarter vents on my GS. My arctic white C7 has body colored mirrors and roof. It flows nicely . The fender always looks good in carbon flash .
One thing that is a must change is the front wheel spats. ACS wheel spats look great 👍🏻.
My licence plate sits on my front dash in the window . The police don’t seem to mind . I find there is more of a respect with corvette owners .
Great Vlog Rick! Yes Sir, unfortunately I was told by the local authorities to put my front plate on. I've had three previous Vettes here in Virginia Beach and never ran front plates. However, this Carbon 65 gets so much attention I had no choice lol! General Lee Out!

Texas requires 2 plates but I'll pay the fix it ticket 1000 times before I ever install one on my Z06. Front plates don't look good on any car, especially on a sports car.

There are also spring-loaded plate holders (aftermarket). If you get a ticket...mount it on the car, get it signed off by the Po-Po....then take it OFF THE CAR. Front license plates don’t belong on a Vette.
You can pay for a little windshield sticker in my state if you don't want to use a front plate.

Good info Rick! I'll never put a plate on the front of my GS. I'm in Ohio. The police cannot pull you over for no front plate only! They can ad that to a speeding ticket but that might give you something to negotiate. Haven't had to but I'd rather pay the fine then put holes in my vette.
I'm in Ohio as well and have gotten pulled over in Brooklyn Ohio for not having a front plate and given a $155 dollar ticket and that was the only reason I was pulled over and only citation I was given .

Very good video guys. I track my Grand Sport and was concerned about how easy it would be to remove the plate holder for track days. After seeing how those big pins lock into the grill, I wasn't sure if the lic. plate holder would be removable. After mounting the lic. plate holder, I did notice the water temp. went up about 7-10 degrees with an ambient air temp. of 98 degrees. So I knew it would have to come off for the track.
Thanks for the video and the laughs. Who in the world designed the front bracket that rubs against the paint? I went with a sto and show license mount because I didn’t want to install a front splitter. The grill option looks good as well.

Rick, I recently purchased a 2019 Stingray and only received the bulky “ throw away” bracket. Does GM still supply both the standard and aero bracket for 2019’s. My dealer says that you only get the bulky one. Thanks Rick!
Unfortunately my dealer tried to put the standard plate holder on the car. It scratched the heck out of the car for the half day it was on. Aero plate is so much better
Damn anchor part to the hardware broke on mine. I didn't know to compress them when taking it off. DAMM!

Okay. No one else will say it so, I'M GONNA SAY IT, "with a screwdriver!" Secondly, I thank God I don't live in a Nanny state that forces me to deface my roadster with a hideous front plate bracket.

I go without a front plate of both of my vehicles, it ruins the front of the vehicle.
