Rick, I worked for a Chevy dealer here in Georgia back in the early / mid 80’s, and a sales rep left the interior lights on in a C4 in our showroom. I worked in new car prep installing dealer options, and my supervisor was tasked with charging the battery. When it came to putting it back in the car, I was told to do so. I hooked up the positive cable, then the ground, and as soon as I started tightening the ground cable, smoke started billowing out from under the chassis. People started screaming at me, but I was already pulling the battery back out. I was only 19, but I knew red to red etc. The incident burned up the wiring harness, and being a kid, I was immediately blamed. Turned out my 65 year old supervisor had connected the charger backward; red to ground, and black to positive, reversing the polarity of the battery. He had years of experience with cars, but he managed to make that simple mistake, so even though it goes without saying, I’m glad you still said it; “red to red, and black to black”. My batt died while I was inside my c7 cleaning it the day before my 1500 mile road trip. Had to pull the release just to get out. Just glad it did it before the trip. I keep a halo in all my cars.
The battery tender was the best 100 bucks ever spent!
I'm on my 2nd c7. Have never had a battery problem. I now feel very confident if one should come up you have given me excellent leadership. Your the best Rick

Happy New Year Rick and Chuck , thats great info ! I plug mine in everytime Im done driving it ( now its asleep for Winter ) . You spend 50 to over 100 K on these cars , spend the 100 bucks for peace of mind . My 2016 that I bought in April sounds weird every time I start it , Im thinking its the battery starting to go . Well see come spring .

Quick tip for Rick the foam cover over the battery has an cut out for a toe hook . It’s not missing it’s only for cars that is being shipped to Europe .

Hey Rick, fun fact about the HALO BOLT, if you hook the cables up wrong, it will not allow you to jump start the vehicle. I have one of these in my patrol vehicle that I got as a Christmas gift a few years ago and people are amazed that little box will jump start a car over and over. Great tip!

Checked the box for batt. Maintainer and the roof panel cover for C8 , best value because it’s in the car when delivered.

When I need those all season tires I’m going to make a road trip to let Chuck put them on, don’t trust anyone here and gives me an excuse to stop by and say hello.

Happy New Year Rick! It appears as though the styrofoam battery cover has an indentation for a tow hook. My neighbor has a Caddy and it came with a tow hook, what's a Corvette owner to do if the car needs to be pulled up on a slide truck and hauled in for service? Thanks for all your tips.

If a person does the service on their own Corvette how does it have to be documented to keep the warranty intact?
Is there a way to tell how old the battery is?
The batteries on my key fob went dead and I had to do the same thing at 6:30 a.m. as the alarm is going off.

You make fun content but the public shaming at the start of this video seemed like a personal attack on that potential customer. Its possible he didnt want to tell you no to avoid letting you down. Also was the other video just a set up to put the customer down in this video? Again Ty for fun content but the shaming of that person didnt seem like fun content.
