My microbiology class was full of pre-med and nursing students. The teacher asked if anyone here knows the best antibiotic for treating the flu. I raise my hand. He points to me with a sh!t eating grin, expecting to humiliate a student. "fluids and bedrest." Grin slides off his face and he grumbles, "that isn't an antibiotic." "the flu isn't a bacteria" (antibiotics kill bacteria and do nothing against viruses)
@@AltruisticWarrior But that' not an antibiotic. The point of the question is that antibiotics don't work on viruses. If healthcare workers over-prescribe antibiotics when they aren't needed, bacteria develop antibiotic resistance.
I don’t remember which story triggered my memory, but I was transported to when I was attending a community college and a professor had invited his students (after the final test) to have a drink across the street. I was several years over 21, but looked 15. We were drinking and having a good discussion when a waitress, looking real nervous brought a cop to our group. It was my husband ( I always looked much younger than my age and he always looked 10 years older than his). I smiled, hugged him and we gave each other a peck. (I had told him where I was going to be and it was in his precinct, so he had decided to give me a surprise). I still chuckle at everybody’s faces. I am pretty sure the waitress, the fellow students, and the professor thought I was a bit underage and that a cop was going to be busting people. The relief on their faces was priceless!
I grew up in a ski resort town. You absolutely need sunglasses in the winter especially when there's snow on the ground. It reflects the light off the ground better and will cause snow blindness which totally sucks. You absolutely cannot open your eyes anymore in any light. It lasts for an hour or more and if it happens while you're out in the weather, you're screwed and have to cover your eyes with your hands and look through a small space between your fingers.
I'm 37 and keep telling my mother repeatedly that I'm autistic, and every time she yells, "No, you're not!" so narcissistic and delusional parents never change
No snow here but my opthamologist and my retina doctor have both told me to be even more diligent with sunglasses in winter. And it's the angle of the sun.
Just look at pictures of mountain climbers. In many cases, they have light sunburn. That's because the altitudes they climb are where snow can form and the intense glare from the snow is what gives them sunburn, not the sun itself.
2:43:13 As someone who had done their fair share of electrical work, I can assure you that if a plug is over heating it will smell like burning plastic because that is the plastic insulators around the wires melting. If the plug is melting it may smell like someone cooking fish/sea food.
I had a math teacher who didn't know the difference between an arithmetic and geometric equation. He also didn't know how to cross multiply, use PEMDAS correctly or correctly explain the Pythagorean theorem. He's the reason I had to retake 9th grade math. If anyone tried to correct him, he'd get pissed off and lose his shit. I really wonder how he's been able to keep his job as a teacher-
"Hey, you're a contractor, right? Can you build me the tallest skyscraper in the world in your spare time for free?" That's how ridiculous most app pitches sound like to the average software engineer (programmer).
I once heard a story from my then maths teacher regarding parents evening, they were talking to the parents of a student and the expectations of the parents was that she was to spend an hour making the student's book , my maths teacher quickly and politely explained using her field that she can't spend 30+ hrs making student's books. A day only has 24hrs and classes average 30 heads she teaches 4 classes a day. She would not have time to do her job let alone have a life. The realisation on the parents face was priceless. (TLDR Your child is not the only one I educate).
I am a school bus driver (not for long tho) and I can confirm that almost all parents believe that their child is the only student. The entitlement is especially real in the special needs programs, which I am in. I had one mom ask me why I was picking their child up so early. I explained to her that that student was my last pick up before going to the school. She legitimately asked me if I could come later... Like, what?! You want me to drop off and then come back and pick your student up? This can't be real right now.
One day while substitute teaching in an elementary school, I saw one of the girls in my 6th grade class with her back against the wall, being furiously French-kissed by a boy, to include fondling, groping, grinding of bodies-the works. I felt I had to call the girl’s mother, who instantly became angry, told me to mind my own business and that she herself had become pregnant at age 13, and “...it didn’t hurt ME any”!
When I was 17, I walked through the church building to attend the young adults class. The kitchen was along the way, and in it, a woman at least old enough to be my mother was freaking out. I enter the kitchen and ask her what's wrong, and she points at the stove where a fire is burning inside. "It's in self-cleaning mode, and I can't open it to put it out!" Personally, I was glad it was locked, knowing that would have fed the fire and perhaps burnt the church down. Didn't comment on that. EVER. However, my stepmom had done me the huge favor (no sarcasm) of teaching me how to clean under the burners atop a stove, so I knew about the air vent under one of the back burners. "Why don't you just cover the vent under the back burner? Without air, it can't burn." She gave me a stunned look for a few seconds as I calmly regarded her, then thanked me and covered the vent, instantly quenching the fire. Problem solved! I left, and as far as I knew, only the two of us ever knew about the fire.
The little girl in the art class with the "hover copter" parents....if I meet her ever, I want to buy her a soda (if she wants) for the sheer amount of trollery done - and at 7 years old! That kid is going places if she can understand people like that!
I'm 90% certain I know the poster (taught special needs in my area, and used same nickname in other circles...) and I can absolutely see him being entertained by her "counter-antics." I gotta ask him about that...

i once had an idea of a gun that shoots subatomic particles and i will give a description: *it has one thing that is essentially a massive rechargeable battery *it has a second part which is the gun: *dual proton helixes for acceleration *hydrogen reaction chamber *extremely powerful solenoid *tau creation chamber it reacts hydrogen into protons and smashes them and then accelerates them thru the main barrel.
Just thinking of when I was in school from the first couple stories.... I was the kid who was frequently talked to about "having so much potential, if only you'd focus" (thanks, undiagnosed ADHD), but aside from that my teachers loved me or at least were amicable with me. So imagine my shock when I'm the one getting these talks from teachers, meanwhile during my freshman year of HS (grade 9 for non Americans), the rest of my class was so awful to our math teacher, that midway through her FIRST YEAR as a teacher, she quit on the spot and said she'd rather rack up more debt to go into the medical field like she originally wanted than having to put up with literal teens acting like they were better than her. The way she left resulted in the class basically getting shifted to a "pass/fail" instead of a letter grade class because they could not get a long term sub who would put up with them, and I ended up even further behind in math class because of the rest of my classmates. It really sucked. I was trying to learn and trying to be a good student, in a sea of people who do not care about school and see it as a social block rather than a place to learn.
3:35 Depending on the custody order, that is highly illegal. Parents with joint/shared custody both have a protected right to their child's medical, education, and welfare information. Denying that should have her in contempt. Unfortunately, it's very common. Schools should request a copy of a court order before proceeding unless they want to get sued.
I liked America's legal system better when a man having custody (both sole and joint) of their own biological kids wasn't a federal/hate crime. I've seen so many stories where men were actually berated and probably got at least one death threat from random women for bringing their kids to a park. It's fucking sickening 🤢
One time when I was like 9-10 I left some tea lights burning on a plastic organizer with papers in it. Yeah, my dresser went up in flames and I was banned from candles for years. Surprisingly the only casualty was the organizer and papers/books inside. Tl/dr: young me left burning candles on very flammable material.
"When you turn 18 and go to college you are treated like an adult..." this is not as accurate as you might like it to be. Students have their hand held way too much, especially when they are no longer first years.
My daughter was held back for kindergarten. The school had cameras in the classrooms, every time I checked in, the teacher was having to teach the Hispanic students English. Come state assessments my daughter knew only what I taught her at home. The poor teacher had her hands full. The parents always spoke to their kids in Spanish at school and the teacher would practically beg them to speak English to their kids while at school or in public, and speak Spanish at home, the parents would get so upset, some would be understanding and kind, but the majority were angry.
Basically every other kid I knew while a young kid myself also thought the "blood blue until oxygen" thing. Granted, it was community home schooling and at that point we hadn't covered Biology - just seen all the textbook pictures showing blue veins leading to lungs and red veins leading away. Biggest "huh?" ever spawned by someone else in my presence though was when in military. Myself and a few others were discussing one of the group planning to go to Mardi Gras and Mr. Intellectually Distorted suddenly joins in with, "Oh, Mardi Gras. You mean that party in Orlando in Georgia?" One of our group: "You mean Orlando is in Florida, not Georgia. And Mardi Gras is in New Orleans, Louisiana." Mr. ID: "Shut up! I was never good at Geology!" and walks off. Dude was a surprisingly good programmer, but on pretty much any other topic he could make your head throb in seconds with his "facts."
My brother and I are in a ground school class going for our pilots licenses. The teacher was explaining how you must inspect your plane annualy. Student in the back, "How often is an annual inspection?" Teacher, "uh, yearly."
1:02:12 - Fun fact: Facebook started as a dating/friendship app for only college students. It also had functionality to rate the attractiveness of students, and to petition schools to get certain entertainers to perform. So, basically these ideas would just recreate Facebook, but they are late to the party.
1:23:50 my brother had severe kidney failure (was about to die), went to the hospital and had to stay for almost 2 months, when he got out of the hospital he started complaining that the doctors gave him kidney failure and that he was completely fine before going to the hospital...

3:07:15 or thereabouts. Toilet paper hanging. It should go over. Look up the 1875 (I think that's the year) original patent. It is shown as going over. If you have toddlers or pets that like to unroll the roll, THEN put it under and tuck the end into the side of the cardboard roll. Helps keep them from unrolling it all over.
I am autistic. Back in school my psychology teacher called one of the students an autist, two times in our overall years of class. She apologized not to him but to me each time she slipped up. I was her best student back then, as none of the other students were serious nor respectful about the the classes and to her. After I graduated she fired herself and eventually became a journalist.
Maybe she should have passed the poor kid who wasn’t doing homework and clearly had a messed up home life. If all she needed was av97 on the final, then she was doing pretty well otherwise. In the context of that description, the teacher shares responsibility for that girl’s messed up life after making that call. School is about knowing the material. Sounds like she knew enough. Just bothers me because I had a similar situation growing up, teachers understood most of the time and now I have a masters degree and I’m doing great but it could easily have gone completely wrong. Really sad...
Teachers like that piss me off. It’s the kids that are struggling that need your attention and support, not the ones doing well, they will be just fine. Toss their extra credit in the trash when they already have a 100% average, treat them the way you treated that kid who handed in his homework late, they are both acting irrational. Maybe you’ll teach that A+ student a valuable lesson about how the real world treats you sometimes. Why did you become a teacher Susan? “To enrich future generations”, nah son, you just keep up the status quo like the rest of em. Maybe that kid didn’t feel challenged by the assignments and felt they were a waste of time since the class was otherwise super easy to her, but you like everyone else never picked up on that or tried to figure it out. And now she thinks she’s a failure and carried that through life when she probably has a higher IQ than you. Shame shame Susan. I don’t know if that’s your name or not but you’re sure talking like a Susan. Quit your job. Ok sorry, end rant.
She didnt know. She got less than 50% on the final an F, AND didnt do any work,ev3n if they passed her no way the airforce would take her, and she would be exactly where she is. Maybe the Army though.
3:39:00 woman with issues with the sun in her eyes heading west. Wedding photographer, for a wedding held on a west Florida coastal beach. The wedding was done at sunrise. The pictures came back and the bride was FURIOUS that the photographer didn't get ANY pictures of the sun rising over the water of them. Yes, make the sun rise in the west just for your wedding. The top three suggestions were 1) photoshop the couple a sunset over that beach as a sunrise and stick them in there 2) the wedding should have been shot at sundown so sun over water could happen 3) they should have had the wedding on the east coast instead.
Girl sitting with us at the coffee shop was a friend of a friend. She asks my friend Sharif where he's from. He says Egypt and she laughs then says "yeah right Egypt is an ancient civilization like Atlantis"..... I can never unhear that stupidity!
One of the earliest ones about the mom Assaulting thw elementary schooler is understandable tbh. Young kids are cruel and sometimes they actually need to see wtf they are doing. I have a young relative in elementary and apparently she was getting bullied so bad that the bully (in her 3rd grade class) was pulling her hair and even went as far as throwing her new phone onto concrete trying to break it. Pried it from her hands and pelted it to the floor while having it recorded. It was apparently because she got more gifts or whatever during valentines. I've never wanted to show my difference in age so badly (despite only being 18). Ive seen some abroad school bullying where a group of twelve year olds numbering 7 or so would literally drag people by their hair, slap them continuously for like half an hour and other shit. Children can be monsters which is why everyone should take extra care in raising them please.
Man, that person who assaulted an elementary kid was an ass. Had my old bully's mom confront me, as a kindergartener, since she unquestionably believed her child(said I bullied him, no I retaliated). Some adults really have no shame.
Omg I'm not the only one who got drew a literal table when the question asked us to make a table.. in my defense I was 5 and took everything way to literally
Well, as someone who’s been held back, I am kinda glad they let the girl move up a grade instead of hold her back. The parents were right, she would’ve been bullied. I got death threats and was called a r*tard because I was held back, but in truth I was just lazy and could’ve done the work.
27:10 this teacher takes their job way too seriously, if they are willing to ruin someone's adult life plans because they didn't do well enough in some highschool class. Especially when that person clearly has no interest in highschool and is ready to move on to a military career which they have already been accepted. Unbelievable. Someone needs to tell that teacher they are just a baby-sitter for teenagers that are legally obligated to to humor. Then you have the audacity to try to make that person's parents look like the bad guys, for being upset that some egomaniac is f"kking with their kid's life?
3:40:43 HAVE HAD THIS HAPPEN!!!! Property manager here, ppl moved in on a discounted deposit special didn’t pay rent the next month or the month after that. Posted a eviction notice, they were shocked. Claimed they thought they only had to pay the discounted deposit and nothing else. She blamed “pregnancy brain” not sure what his excuse was. Eviction granted, lived in unit for 4 months paying discounted deposit only (this was 2018). Last week got email from rep at collection agency “they’re are disputing charges”. Ummm WHAT??? They are claiming we told them they could live rent free for a year (never mind the signed legal contract by them called a lease) and they only needed to pay that deeply discounted deposit. Rep at collection agency actually laughed. People are ignorant at best!!!!
12:37 I used to get grounded for playing video games when I wasn't allowed. I was limited to an hour a day, and only on weekends though. I feel like if I ever have kids, I would allow them to play however much they want, as long as they turn them in to me before bedtime. I think that's fair. It allows them to be a bit less driven for it since they aren't limited, and I would be sure they were getting enough sleep. I love video games, and would love to play them with my kids one day. But it's important to teach them that there are other ways to entertain yourself, and letting them learn to take breaks. Of course, maybe homework would need to be completed and shown to me first. Yeah...I think that's a good tradeoff.
WaitWaitWaitWaitWaitWaitWaitWait People actually don't understand the need for sunglasses in the winter time?? It's so much worse to have the sun glaring off a sheet of ice or bank of snow staring right back into your eyes, as you're trying to drive alongside an endless stream of idiots who can't drive worth a shit in the first place, than to have it be hot and sunny!
I was a high school substitute teacher before, I remember a mother of one of my students stormed at my classroom because she found out that her daughter got pregnant. She blamed me because I'm a teacher and a second parent to my student. I told her I don't have control of her child and I'm not responsible for her daughter after school hours and parents need to discipline their children. She was so mad went to the principal office, talked to the principal, and the principal told her the same thing I said. After that, My principal just laughed and said Yeah, I know her and she did the same thing before. Like mother, like daughter 🤣🤣🤣🤣
As a diagnosed autistic adult(was diagnosed at 7) i completely understabd this..we learn differently and often need help in different ways to most..i was lucky as most of my teachers cared snd helped me individuslly by adapting there teaching methods and encouraged me to be the best i could do..but for so many that help just doesnt find them..
@Caponezheater not at all, my parents have from the start fully embraced snd supported my difficulties(doing anything to help where they could to overcome the challenges)..i was always a troubled child..and im just a slightly less troubled adult( since been diagnosed severe depression and experience long and intense episodes of cognative breakdown and emotional difficulty). The dependancy was always a thing and still is to an extent as i end up struggling with normal process as they feel difficult or challenging(e.g posting a letter or package). The reason i felt i should comment is even with all that help i have gone through severe mental health problems bought on by bullying and general misunderstanding from others and feel for those who have to try and face these seemingly unwinnable situations bieng expected to functionally do what 'normal' kids are doing without the difficulties they have bieng factored in and the extra help bieng offered to alllow them to grow there skills and this is why i responded to this comment directly as i think that it would allow the more trouble children to become strong and resiliant adults snd enjoy life. I now have a good life, still very close and strong family bond and have been in a long term relationship(nearly 5 years) with my partner that i met when i was at school(and has stayed close all these years and helped me through a lot of it too) and i am now a skilled mechanic who is well repected for only bieng in my early 20's...i was very lucky and given a chance to grow into adulthood knowing im not like most but encouraged use my skills to be the best i can be and and i just hope that everyone else like me gets that same chance as it csn change that indiciduals life forever.. and most importsntly i can enjoy being happy and meeting equaly quirky and brilliant freinds ..
3:33:49 Yeah I did the exact same thing in my moms jeep. She was standing outside the car talking to a friend and I was curious so I stuck my finger in the car lighter. When I pilled it out the tip of my finger was already beginning to blister and it was screaming at me. I just pressed it to the Mcdonalds cup I had in my hand and we went on with our day. My mom still doesn't know about this
Not sure who the teacher is that said a parent had their child diagnosed with epilepsy. Parents can't diagnose or tell doctors to diagnose their child with something. My son only had three seizures and then his medicines helped but he still had epilepsy. And again you can't tell the doctors what to diagnose your child with
Lol, arguing about why Token from South Park is called Token... The familys last name is literally "Black".. Making Tokens full name "Token Black"... It's such a massively heavy handed joke that I cannot comprehend how anyone could possibly get that one confused.
It took me years after I learned English to realise I didn't know how my people (dutchmen) where called in English was quite confused why it was so different
About 2:52:00 the magic credit card. There are many, that get a card and go oh great, spend off the credit line THEN THROW THE CARD AWAY because 'it doesn't work any more' and you can NOT explain to them that it's a revolving LOAN and once the line is used it has to be paid back. "No you GAVE me this money to spend so I spent it. It's gone and I'm good. I don't owe you anything because you GAVE me the card and I spent the money on it." My spouse understood the first part, it's a loan, but could NOT grasp that we are barely afloat, someone gave him a credit card, and there magically wasn't going to be money to pay off the credit line so he could spend it again. No matter what he demanded.
"She never learned how to multiply or divide, therefore it has no practical use..." I never learned how to speak French, pave roads, or perform surgery. I guess those things have no practical use.
in my high school biology class the teacher was explaining how the maximum size that insects can reach is limited by the amount of oxygen in the atmosphere due to how their respiratory systems work (the reason why they were big af back when there was a higher percentage of oxygen) and one girl asked, dead serious, "is that what midgets have?" girl dead-ass wanted to know if little people breathed through spiracles. I know she wasn't paying attention but damn
Before reddit I had a conversation with a guy about non-carbon or carbon neutral alternatives for energy production or transport. I thought he seemed to understand the basics until he said..."I heard you could use water for fuel." So I backtracked and talked about fuels and oxidizers, and the fact that water is simply the ash of burned Hydrogen, and has no usable chemical energy left. Guy replied that development of water as fuel was being suppressed by big oil.
I've caught myself on fire a few times myself lol. Caught my room on fire twice as well. I honestly don't know how I survived my teenage years. Teenage me remains the biggest idiot I've met to this day lol.
2:57:03 She was actually right. I'm part Indian and therefore only have a gill on one side of my neck. My full blooded grandparents have both gills. Why do you think we usually have long hair? Cause it looks cool? Yeah right. Also, you really believe the history books when they say we crossed the great lakes, which are known for taking down 700 foot long street freighters, in wooden canoes? I'll share a little secret with you... We swam everywhere. Polynesians also share this genetic trait. Hence Jason Momoa as aquaman in the movies. He's a natural to play the part due to genetic water breathing ability. Never trust history books.
5:16 Honestly, I see why the mom got upset. I mean, You can't just walk up to a parent and say, "Yo, Test your kid, they probably have Autism." That's almost like entering into a personal family situation that you have no right to enter in. I get that they're teachers and they see a child that may have special needs, but if they ain't doing anything wrong or hurting anyone, then you shouldn't just waltz up to the parents and suggest what they should do 😂
No, you absolutely should. And if the parent responds with abuse, know the child is suffering worse at home. It's not private. You are an abuser if you think denying your child supports is good for them. Period. Forever. It's unforgivable. My mother used to get into screaming matches with all my teachers, and would often say things like "you think she's an r-word? She's smarter than you." Which destroyed my relationships with most of my teachers. I was being beaten, starved, neglected, screamed at, and psychologically tortured by that woman. She felt she could beat my ***not even mild*** autism out of me. But yeah, it's private. Please get a clue. Parents who sabatoge their children do it only for their own sick satisfaction. I am severely traumatized by this, and hated myself for decades, not knowing that something was up, other than being hopelessly "evil". Don't protect abusers.
2:13 have a similar one. my parents beat up 6 of my classmates thinking they were bullying me. at the time my only 2 friends were among the 6 classmates. the whole time I was biting dad and scratching his eyes out and screaming at him to stop. I got expelled for my parents actions and grounded for not allowing them to protect me from "bullies" 4:55 if that was in america, it's better to not test. if in europe, depends a lot on the school and country.
I worked with a guy who came to work with a triangle burn on his neck I asked him what happened and he replied " I was ironing my t shirt and burnt my neck - he ironed his fucking t shirt while wearing!!!
28:17 this kid was being polite and got accused of bullying, obviously it sounds like nothing came of it but they should have held a ceremony and gave that kid a medal or award or something, 1. thats rare as it is 2. it reinforces good behavior after that bad experience wrongly put on him 3. it calls out these symps who think everyone must agree with them and calls those that dont nasty things
My gosh I feel so bad for the girl who wanted to join the air force and ended up wasting away because two of two people in her life that failed her. Or maybe I should say three because the dad might not have been aware of what was going on at the time, but didn't seem to do anything to help his child get the help she needed to get back on track.
In the uk (nhs), if someone is suspected by their gp to have a suspicious mole, they are referred to a expert clinic where the mole is photographed. To reduce wait times to see a specialist, the photo is sent to an expert over text, the expert in question could be in another town or city. The expert can recommend surgery if necessary and arrange an appointment with a surgeon. So basically, the mole app mentioned, would be a terrible idea for just anyone to use, but an excellent tool for medical professionals.
The raining and not raining at the same time story, yeah, when I was driving home one day, the two way road I was driving home on had my side raining and the other side was dry. One of the freakiest things I ever saw. This was a concrete road that barely had enough room for both sides to have cars pass each other, so when I say one side had rain and the other side didn’t really is freaky! BTW I have lived where it rained while still sunny. PS this road is now paved and has three lanes each way, amazing what a few decades can do. PS I miss the sheep blocking the road now and then.
Experience. The guy who sat near a group that did some programming so he should know what to do... There’s an episode of MASH where they were dealing with a horse. Nobody knew anything but one person, I think it was Hawkeye, said he stepped in manure once. That got him elected as having the most experience with horses.
That turnitin can come in handy and it can be a pain. I was accused of plagiarism and it was settled quickly but anyway I was writing a paper for my criminal justice class got a call from teacher saying you cheated I said no I did not and explained where I got it from, she said that it was just close to another students (I work from home), but yeah that’s why I hate it personally but whatever.
Good god the firefighter section reminds me of working at a gas station. So many times I've had to put out the smoldering ashtray by the front door because people put lit cigs in there. If that isn't bad enough, I've had to hit the emergency stop button because someone threw a lit cig in the garbage can...at the gas pump! First and last time I've had to use the fire extinguisher. SMH
1:12:55 - There is an “app” that does this. It’s called Windows Explorer. Like a lot of these suggestions, this is only a “dumb idea” because it’s already been done.
53:03- Why is a mirror app "impossible?" I had just such an app on my old phone (called Mirror, as I recall), and a quick glance at Google Play Store shows several apps of that nature. The app worked well, but I never put one on my new phone because I hardly ever used it......but it wasn't impossible, although perhaps the OP was using that word in a sense with which I'm not familiar......
It's not really that funny but I guess it's cuz it's me and the relationship I have with the security guard supervisor at the mall and his wife who worked at a candle store there. I'd always pop my head in and ask "Ay you guys got any candles?" They'd laugh, I'd laugh, I hand them their favorite chocolate and we'd get into a conversation until her husband shows up and I'd help him do his rounds in the mall. If shit went down, I'd keep my distance. Don't wanna make him look bad. I love that guy. When I first met him I was confused, angry, couldn't figure myself out and I was hanging out with a neo nazi I thought I could get to change his ways but he was pulling me into his lifestyle. This security guard took the time out of his day on his break to just talk with me. He ended up introducing me to a bunch of other people who worked at the mall and it made a serious difference in my development. I cleaned up my act and got myself right. That dark, scary, creepy kid? You gotta remember that's a person too. We all got a story. We all gotta lotta stuff we go through and usually those creepy kids just want someone to show them they're worth a damn, but ya gotta remember we put up walls to keep people from getting close. Give us space and push us outta our comfort zone but respect that we are that way for a reason, it ain't permanent though.

For the sunglasses in winter thing- The sun glare off of the snow is actually brighter than the usual sun glare.
Source: My mother the optician.
I thought this was common knowledge
Sun sits in the sky lower too which makes glare worse too
No snow here but my opthamologist and my retina doctor have both told me to be even more diligent with sunglasses in winter.
And it's the angle of the sun.
@Caponezheater very fair. I apologizs
Just look at pictures of mountain climbers. In many cases, they have light sunburn. That's because the altitudes they climb are where snow can form and the intense glare from the snow is what gives them sunburn, not the sun itself.

Can you build me the tallest skyscraper in the world in your spare time for free?"
That's how ridiculous most app pitches sound like to the average software engineer (programmer).
What is “making the student’s book”?

"It's in self-cleaning mode, and I can't open it to put it out!"
Personally, I was glad it was locked, knowing that would have fed the fire and perhaps burnt the church down. Didn't comment on that. EVER. However, my stepmom had done me the huge favor (no sarcasm) of teaching me how to clean under the burners atop a stove, so I knew about the air vent under one of the back burners. "Why don't you just cover the vent under the back burner? Without air, it can't burn."
She gave me a stunned look for a few seconds as I calmly regarded her, then thanked me and covered the vent, instantly quenching the fire. Problem solved! I left, and as far as I knew, only the two of us ever knew about the fire.
The little girl in the art class with the "hover copter" parents....if I meet her ever, I want to buy her a soda (if she wants) for the sheer amount of trollery done - and at 7 years old!

*it has one thing that is essentially a massive rechargeable battery

*extremely powerful solenoid
*tau creation chamber
it reacts hydrogen into protons and smashes them and then accelerates them thru the main barrel.

The second story is upsetting. Imagine how different her life would’ve been if she had joined the Air Force.

Kids getting tattoos in school? Elementary school? Any school? That’s the most insane thing I’ve ever heard.
My husband's ash tray is just a bottle with water in it. Pretty smart. He also smokes outside.

5:16 Honestly, I see why the mom got upset. I mean, You can't just walk up to a parent and say,
"Yo, Test your kid, they probably have Autism."
That's almost like entering into a personal family situation that you have no right to enter in.
My childhood friend did that when he was 10, for a grown man to do that is sad
28:17 this kid was being polite and got accused of bullying, obviously it sounds like nothing came of it but they should have held a ceremony and gave that kid a medal or award or something,
1. thats rare as it is
2. it reinforces good behavior after that bad experience wrongly put on him
3. it calls out these symps who think everyone must agree with them and calls those that dont nasty things
Scattered showers LOL
Dont block the dad from visiting. Give the dad a meal too
Good god the firefighter section reminds me of working at a gas station. So many times I've had to put out the smoldering ashtray by the front door because people put lit cigs in there. If that isn't bad enough, I've had to hit the emergency stop button because someone threw a lit cig in the garbage can...at the gas pump! First and last time I've had to use the fire extinguisher. SMH
I feel bad for the kids when the parents are to blame and the saddest part is they will take it out on the kids.....
The one where the incomplete thing could be turned into petty revenge
1:12:55 - There is an “app” that does this. It’s called Windows Explorer. Like a lot of these suggestions, this is only a “dumb idea” because it’s already been done.
53:03- Why is a mirror app "impossible?" I had just such an app on my old phone (called Mirror, as I recall), and a quick glance at Google Play Store shows several apps of that nature. The app worked well, but I never put one on my new phone because I hardly ever used it......but it wasn't impossible, although perhaps the OP was using that word in a sense with which I'm not familiar......
Story at 1:30:00 in the hospital I work at as a CNA we are required to keep patients glucose levels over 70 and below 200
