I think this one might be my favorite andra so far, which shocked me because i don't generally like to cut doll hair shorter. But it just suited her, and i don't regret it. Glad you enjoyed the video!

I was about to rage quit while fussing with her original hair. kept getting caught on the collars of the outfits i was trying on, and wouldn't stay neatly in place. I was so frustrated. LOL

she was so fun to dress and style, I don't think i've had that much fun styling a doll in ages.
The shoes that Maeve came with were also included with the Aleali Barbie fashion pack, in white.
i'm over myself for losing one of the shoes somewhere in my house!
Love, your redresses on this doll plus the short Bob that you finalized Maeve Reilly in, too much glue in the hair from the start. I like the coat but a little clunky looking and to me best kept in the box, for a better look. Out of the box, the Doll needs plastic surgery and salon work, frustrating dealing with these dolls at times. Thank you Gypsy for what you do for us fashion doll collectors❤

Great review, Gypsie! I have this doll, should restyle her, I like the face up. I have Andra with red hair, and one with a pixie hair style. Restyled Bellatrix Lestrange doll with the coat.
This Andra is becoming my favorite of the bunch, she is so fun to restyle and just looks like she came to take over the scene. I didn't expect to like her that much, I was more invested in the clothing than the doll when i saw her online. Hopefully, this restyle session helps some others visualize her potential in their own collections.

i'm not even into M-T-M dolls like that, but i can't help being impressed by Faith's attention to detail. Like, she has mastered Mattel's colour theory (if that's what you could call it).

I did not get the Maeve Riley doll due to the fact that they had raise the price from $35-$45. Then to add insult to injury Mattel had given you this $10 off coupon but for some reason I couldn’t use it when trying to buy the doll or other dolls. So I decided not to get her. Also, I felt that she should’ve been on a maid to move body because of her clothing. However, you got her and I always love your reviews.
yeah, when you purchase her from mattel, they don't give you the coupon to apply to the doll. after the purchase, they send you the coupon code in an email to use for a future purchase. so dumb. what if i don't want any future dolls from Mattel creations? plus it expires in October of this year! so ridiculous. and i agree, i thought she needed an mtm body too. if i had an original in her skin tone laying around, i probably would have used it but i ended up liking her on the curvy. my other 2 Andras have original bodies, and only one has a curvy so i thought Maeve being on a curvy would even things out.
FYI, the Tommy Hilfiger hoodie stains the dolls so be careful not to leave them on the dolls for too long.

This is just a guess, but seems like maybe the thought behind the hair was to be "realistic"--like, fine straight wispy shoulder-length white girl hair as opposed to the more "fantasy" length and thickness that comes on other dolls. It's hard to pull it off with the general texture of doll hair being what it is.
In the promo pix her hair looks fine. But also didn't look gelled. Why they didn't just keep it like the pictures, I don't know. And the cut is so jagged and messy.
I don’t quite understand the idea behind paying the premium prices and then body swapping and restyling. I pay the premium prices for dolls I want in the outfits they’re wearing … if I want to mix it up I’ll buy second-hand dolls from eBay. The exception to that are the BMR dolls in their daft outfits (though mine are still in their boxes)
I felt the same way for years until I realized this ideology limits my access to certain sculpts or clothes that come with a doll. So if I have to customize her to make her the way I really want, so be it, regardless of price. But... I think we shouldn't need to do that for those prices. Mattel should know better. But for me, Needing my dolls to have version kinds of joints or whatever feature compels me to customize them. I even rebody integrity dolls of needed.
I think the outfit is worth $45. I’m sure I’ll have to pay that when I buy it off of eBay. Nevermind, $30 on Mercari 😊. Definitely a fair price for this very cool outfit!

I have the first two Andra dolls, but I will pass for this doll. The coloring, face screen, and quality fashions are wins. The price, possibility for wonk-eye, and that I can't get her from a local store takes her out of the running for me.
"Rainbow Skittles melted all over the clothes" is the perfect description for the current fashions.
I'm glad this review helped in any way for you to decide if she's a candidate for your collection. I wish Mattel would give us some grown up looking fashions to choose from. After all, they know how popular their collectible dolls are with adults. it's such a shame.

That was the WRONG facial mould to pick for Maeve Reilly. Now that i'm looking at a photo of the actual woman in this video, i don't know how she a/o the designers settled on that face.
Adonis said the same thing, they don't look alike. But I think mattel was just styling the doll similarly, instead of making a replica of maeve reilly herself. She's just inspired by maeve's fashion style. Confusing though. 🤦🏽♀️
@@BrokenDollyTV Yeah. Maeve has very sculpted features. They could have, at least, used the Goddess facial mould that they used for the 2019 Marvel Superhero dolls.
UGH. .. i am so annoyed by her jewelry. i hate that they gave her a metallic gold earring, but made the rest of her jewelry that dull, painted or molded gold and silver.
And who wears gold and silver together like that? No offense to those who do, but i haven't seen it in real life. .. ever.
