Thanks for posting. I'm surprised you dont have more subscribers. I like your music choices on this and other videos. If you had to choose a larger tent would you buy again from Luxe Outdoors? Thx.
Thanks for watching Cory. I spend a fair amount of time scoping out music. Glad to hear it doesn't go unnoticed. If I had to go larger I would have no hesitation on sticking with Luxe. I have the mega horn 4p and the next step up is the mega horn xl 8p. I think it would be fun pitch one of those and put a couple of inner tents in there. You could hang out by the stove and then retreat to your own inner tent. 🤙 Take care
I finally got around to watching this. My first pack is an REI 85L that I bought without researching. Now I am so glad I kept it. For a tent that size, 38lbs isn't bad at all!! This setup is so cool!! Nice work bud!!!
Cool solo trip. It seems that hot tent performed well being 60+ degrees inside with below freezing outside. It looks like you use the Gregory Baltoro backpack too. Pretty nice. Take care and have a great day.
Thanks for stopping by Packs-a-lot. When we finally get some snow I'll head out with the sled and snow shoes. That is a Gregory Baltoro in the video. That pack is super comfortable. Ps. I know it was you that placed that monolith out in Utah. Your secret is safe with me. 😄
@@SignalOutdoors I have the same backpack and absolutely love it. I'll watch for your adventure. Sounds cool. I was actually going to go see that monolith thing this month. Kristy and I were thinking about wearing monkey masks and beat on it with a couple old dried deer bones and sticks like in the opener of the movie "2001 Space Oddessy". 😂😂 Take care.
Dude! I love your intro segment! I too love backpacking for how it makes you appreciate everything. Life at its most simple. I use the cnoc vecto bag with my sawyer squeeze. The full size squeeze has a really good flow rate compared to the mini. A lot of my customers also like the be free by katadyn. I have never tried a hot tent but there definitely seems to be a lot of buzz about them lately. It would be perfect for here in Montana for CC skiing or snowshoeing. Great vid.
Thanks Man! I'll be picking up the vecto before my next trip for sure. There seems to be a bit of rivalry between Sawyer and Katadyn among thru hikers. I'm tempted to make the switch but we'll see. Which retailer do you work for?
As a Norwegian hiker I have zero experience with small wood stoves as we use gas or kerosene when camping. So it is very interesting to watch how you use a wood stove and gain experience. I am thinking about trying it in 2021 during a hike, so I will stay tuned. But please get an axe for chopping wood - A knife works, but I did worry watching you chop the wood;)
Thanks for watching! Normally I would plan on bringing an axe but I figured I'd just use the knife this time as I was packing in rather than pulling in with the pulk sled. I promise to be more carful. :-) Take care
Hey man I remember seeing your backyard trial run videos. You had a few issues but it seems that they are solved. Congratulations. Next time you process wood you should put the branch across the length of the picnic bench or table. You had it pointing up and that makes you struggle to brace the branch and puts your cut on an angle. Across the bench you can brace the piece with your foot. Across the table you can use your and and body with the table and save your back by not leaning over. Either way will help give you a firm hold and straight cut. Bring on the snow 😊❤️🇺🇸❄️☃️🛷🔥⛺️🌄
Nice! "32 outside and 54 inside" pretty much says it all! I don't know anything about the stove equipment. I'll have to go look it up to see how the exhaust pipe collapses and how heavy it all is. My hammock camping season is over due to the temps but it must be nice to keep going into late November/December. Lake Maria BP Site #1 is a favorite of mine! Hear any beavers splashing around?
Its great to be able to backpack year around now. In the first successful hot tent overnight video I show the stove setup a little more detail if you're interested. Also, you got it, that was BP1 and its my favorite as well. I heard the beavers and coyotes. Was pretty cool. Thanks for watching. 😄
Nice! Great video presentation and all. I really enjoyed watching, thx for sharing!👍👀 Is your tipi a Luxe Megahorn? I've been looking at the Mini Peak, but now thinking about the Mini Peak XL or Megahorn being that I'm tall.
Thanks for watching! That is the Luxe Megahorn 4 person. If you plan to pack the tipi in the only thing to keep in mind is you need a really large pack to fit the Megahorn (85L plus). The Megahorn is best suited to be pulled in on a pulk sled (IMO). Its great though and worth the added weight. Take care!
Hot tenting.... The only way to winter camp.... But I don't have a hot tent...😢 so I don't winter camp...LOL The wood might be hickory if you have it around there... Some types my pine are hard to baton because of all the resin in the wood... Great camp!
Agreed, hot tenting is a game changer. I hope you're able to try it some day. You might be right about that wood being hickory. I looked up some examples and I notice the bark peeling on one of the logs in my video like it does on hickory. The stuff took forever to cut but was the best stuff I've burned by far. I'll need to study up on wood types going forward. Thanks for watching.
Anyone know what type of wood that was I couldn't split? That stuff was strong!
And talking about wood,I've no idea, but I know that the pine is best,if you have it in/near the camp site

Those hot tents are so awesome!! 60’s in the tent and below freezing outside. Love it. Cool video 👍
Thanks for watching Jason! Once you spend time in a hot tent there's no going back. Haha

Great video mate.thumbs up
Thanks man, really glad you liked it.
Hi, interesting tent and even more interesting stove.
Thanks, that's the 3W stove from Luxe Hiking Gear. 3W stands for wild wild west. 🤠 Thanks for stopping by. 🤙
I loved that little stove of yours! 😁👍 It sure looked like a nice overnight trip! So beautiful out there and not too cold! 😁 Have a great day! Kaat
Thanks for stopping by Kaatje. Had a lot of fun and the weather was perfect. Take care. 🤙
Awesome ! Good times man ! Thanks for sharing. Cheers
Thanks man! Was my first time leaving the backyard with the hot tent. Thanks for stopping by and take care🤙
@@SignalOutdoors You betcha
Great video my Friend. Thanks for the share
Thanks for stopping by. 🤙
Really enjoyed your video! I’m trying to save up for a hot tent setup myself, but for now I’ll just enjoy watching others do it lol keep em coming!
Thanks for watching! You'll have a real leg up when you do get a tent. They're a lot of fun. Take care.
Very nice made video and footage. Big 👍like from me! I also love camping, hiking with my dog and shoot some videos to.Keep on!!!

@@SignalOutdoors Thx for that advice. Seriously appreciated that. I didn't realize the size. I'll most likely be getting the mini peak then.
I'm sorry about the computer guard not working for your paint can stove. It would be handy for your alcohol stove. :)
I think some of that was user error on my part. I'll try it again at some point.🤙
