It’s amazing that a TH-camr can think of a movie/tv show idea that’s ten times better than anything Disney has done
Not really, do you really think corporate stooges are creative?
Disney doesn't care about plots, narratives, or storylines anymore. It's all about a quick cash grab while using nostalgia.
Laughs in Mandalorian.
@@72A1D372 Disney couldn’t have made mandolorian without Dave filoni and John favrea
And keep coming up with better ideas... over and over and over and over again
That sounds like a fantastic idea for a whole new, sub- franchise for S.W . I know I'd be happy to see it come into fruition.
Yeah, I wouldn't want the content to be watered down by childish interpretations. I'd love to see the grit of the Jedi Shadows, doing whatever is necessary to complete the job. The Jedi have been known to be hypocrites (from an outside perspective), but the Shadows go beyond the norm of Jedi philosophy and morality.
Sentinels are my favorite classification of Jedi as it is. I feel like they would make a slight alteration to a famous quote from Grandmaster Yoda. "Do or die, there is no try".
@@dannyavarice I highly recommend the comic series Knights Of The Old Republic by John Jackson Miller. It centers around a Padawan named Zayne Carrick, whose Master is part of a secretive covenant dedicated to preventing the Sith from returning, following the defeat of Exar Kun, Let’s just say that the Covenant does some slightly questionable things at times…
@@garereeve117 I'm definitely going to have to look for that. The Old Republic is my favorite era for Star Wars by far.
@@dannyavarice do or do not*
@@lukashallgren1625 Did you even read my comment?
It makes perfect sense that the Jedi would store Sith artifacts and study them instead of trying to destroy them. Those artifacts could give a Jedi insight into the Sith's philosophy and what they practiced. I don't see an issue with that. One of the most important rules of war is to know as much about your enemy as possible, especially if it would mean discovering potential weak points.
Except very few Jedi actually have access to them, it pretty much always goes wrong when someone does access them, like Padawan Dooku, and they can always be stolen back like when Malgus sacked the Jedi temple on Coruscant.
But remember that they kept them while being very confident that the sith had been extinct for 1000 years, so it wasn’t a matter of knowing an enemy for war. They also kept them in such a manner that kids could sneak in and see them so…
There are too many cases where a curious Jedi padawan or masted gets corrupted to warrant it.
There could be many reasons why study them. To be able to see how some Sith abilities work to copy/counter them. To better understand force and it's limits (officially, dark side is side of force that is responsible for natural disasters and must not be touched by humans, according Jedi) . But I agree, that it's mainly for shadows to be trained in finding and dealing with them.
EXCEPT....what about the time CENTURIES after Darth Bane? At a certain point the Risk is too much. Not only that, but why can't some of these be destroyed and then shove the info on a Jedi Holochron? All the Information is there, but WITHOUT the Dark Side Influence. Plus, there HAS to be a point where there's no more information to be taken from something, and it's better to destroy it. At the very least, more of it SHOULD be better locked away securely, to where fewer Padawans and such can access them!!
@@TheAyanamiRei As I understand it, they were locked away in temple. Just its old and big structure full of people who has force. Protection wasn't enough. It could be simply against their ideology to keep Sith knowledge in Jedi Holochron. Would it be still Jedi Holochron? It could easily change into trap. Jedi nature is to be passive and don't fix what is working. This flaw was stronger after centuries without Sith influence. It was simply their style, lock them up and let problem for later generation.
The rule of two, could also be interpreted as there always has to be at least one Jedi and one Sith.
I can come up with a couple of little points: sometimes the Jedi struggle to destroy things. The act of destruction can be seen as dark, on its own. The Jedi tried to smother the dark locus on Coruscant, instead of purifying it, and it bit them in the butt. They might easily see the danger of these things, but using their light powers to ruin them could taint those very powers. Second, and this might be hard to explain, but those objects do hold...something. They aren't merely physical books, containing dangerous ideas, and instruction; they are tainted by the corruption of the Dark Side, and this is what can seep into the unwary, and cause them to fall. That essence is a thing, and if you destroy its vessel, that doesn't mean you necessarily destroy the essence; you simply release it back into the galaxy. Contained, it is still dangerous, but you know of it, where it is, what it is doing, and may be able to limit access to it. Destroyed, that darkness is now free to spread, and to take on a new form, purpose, and act outside your perception, or control. I feel some of the Jedi might have preferred keeping these Relics to keep the taint in them confined, and isolated, because they knew they were more then just objects, and they knew evil itself cannot be destroyed; it can only be fought.
Of course, there will also be those radical Inquisitor types who seek to know their enemy, and use their own powers as their downfall, so maybe some Masters wanted to be able to reference these things, fearing that even a thousand years after the defeat of the Sith, they could never be sure it wouldn't resurface, and they'd need to know what to look for...even though that's the very issue; it changed its form while they weren't looking.
THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS
I would also like to know more about this in a franchise for Star Wars. I also think part of the reason they keep it is to know your enemy. Obviously, the Jedi who observes this has to be specially trained. How else can you defeat the enemy unless you know how their mind works?
Good work!
I'd love to see a series or an anthology series about the Jedi Shadows
This is interesting, but as Canon goes, the only timeline events that can make it happen is during Episode VI-VII. In legends, Luke seeks out many artifacts. I would love to see an Animated show such as the Bad Batch and Rebels, focusing on Luke and his earlier times. Something like "Luke and the new republic era". What do you think?
Reminds me of the stuard of gondors plan to lock the ring of power deep in minas tirith and it was supposedly supposed to be used only during emergencies
Shadows can come from any branch of the Order, their lives must be touched by the Dark Side and they have to have overcome it to be recruited, but the vast majority come from the ranks of the Sentinels who also prove to be the most successful with the longest careers, and you only leave the Shadows on a Funeral Pyre.
Once you become a Shadow you will never have an Apprentice (except an other Shadow) you will be bared from most Councils espechily the High Council.
But you do get a nice Purple Lightsaber.
I had an idea similar to yours, but it followed the jedi sentinels. Going into depth on what they did to protect the ideals of the jedi.
I’d like to see how these artifacts would effect the rest of the galaxy. Consider that after order 66 the temple may have been raided, by Vader or others. Then all these dark artifacts spread across the galaxy creating many powerful dark siders, sith or otherwise.
I think it’d be a cool concept for exploring the universe more. Tv series, movies, books, etc. There could be so many cool stories to come from this.
Actually the Jedi Order has Secret inner circle, the Jedi covenant which sole purpose was to retrieve sith artifacts.
By time they got also hold of the lightsaber of exar Kun.
The Saber was so Dangerous that it had to be locked into a Box imbued and sealed with the Lightside, just to weaken it over time
Quick Reminder: The Jedi STOLE everything they knew and used about the Force from other sources. Holocrons? Sith invention. Jedi invented Protosabers, Sith perfected them, jedi stole the upgraded models. But the original Jedi stole all their Force Techniques from other, older, orders before wiping out said orders.
Ummmm…. Holocrons are a Rakatan invention, Sith stole protosabers. What the Jedi originally knew came from what the Jeda’i order knew which came from the most powerful force weilders sharing their knowledge
@@t.j.armendariz354 Datacrons were Rakata, Sith took that knowledge and made Holocrons. Jedi stole the Holocron tech from the Sith.
Most of these artifacts are steeped in the dark side. Some of them are impervious to any damage the jedi could muster, others almost seem to have their own will. Still others can corrupt lightsiders by being in close proximity to them.
I have always been fascinated by the jedi shadows and their movements thru slimy parts of the galaxy
There should be a stealth game where you're a sith sneaking into the Jedi temple to steal artifacts. Like Metal Gear Solid with Jedis
Another idea for a show: What about a history about different Jedi artifacts? Perhaps it could be a sort of storyteller flashback type of deal with Plagueis teaching Palpatine about them.
With what you just said about that story you should definitely write one for Disney I would definitely see it
Ha! I like the way you think. Ive been drafting fan fiction regarding this exact topic of Jedi Shadows and Sentinels hunting down Sith artifacts!
Wonderful video, & amazing concept for a story .!!
I really wish we would have gotten more missions with A Vader without A suit.
Yeah, I imagine Vader wished that too.
I always assumed it was so the Masters could study their ancient enemy. They'd need knowledge of the Sith to defeat them and it does take knowledge and time to develop counters to darkside force abilities. However now that you point it out it does feel like there was something more going on there.
That does raise a question, I don't think I've ever heard of what happens if a Jedi Shadow goes rogue and becomes a Dark Jedi or a Sith.
And yes that does sound like a show, just the first 4-8 episodes maybe though, still, sounds like there's a lot more to unpack, not just a corruption or betrayal plot, but also an arc of how they are all hunted while being suspected or similar things. It sounds like it could be expanded further.
Another great video. I agree this would be an amazing movie. Star Wars has so many great stories to tell that have nothing to do with the Skywalkers
Star Wars: Shadow Ops. love it.
That sounds like a great concept would love to see more on shadows
I feel like Exar Kun can beat Darth Nihilus and Darth Malgus since he's unbeatable in lightsaber combat.
Exar kun is leap and bounce far more powerful in the force than. Both malgus and nihiluis, he escalate above sith spirits that could consume entire sectors and protect planets from their destruction
In the art of war, Sun Tsu says to know your enemy, and know yourself, to secure your victory.
The more I read/learn about the Jedi the more I hate them. They are literally theur own enemy.
"These sith artifacts can corrupt and twist people just by being in their presence... Lets put em in a box in our temple where we teach children!"
"We know Sith artifacts can turn a trained jedi master to the darkside eith just a touch... Toss it in a box in the basement."
"This planet is so infused with the darkside it corrupts all... *slaps a 'do not enter' sign up* that'll keep people out right?"
"We had jedi turn dark and murder people. Lets slap em on a ship and send it randonly into space. What could go wrong?"
"Whaaaaa?! The sith are back? A Jedi went dark by touching an evil sith artifact we kept in a box?! WHO WOULDA THUNK IT? WHO COULD HAVE SEEN IT COMING! IF ONLY WE HAD SOME SORT OF PRECEDENT OR MAYBE SOMEONE WHO COULD GET GLIMPSES OF THE FUTURE!"
Now let's use both Darth Nihilus's mask and Exar Kun's lightsaber just for funsies.
FANTASTIC idea for a new thread of shows!
If Disney catches this, make sure you get credit :D
the stupendous wave I watch your videos I have written some good fanfics and I'm hyped for the ahsoka series star wars is never really dead
A show about the Jedi Shadows in a black ops mission?
Sign me in!
I was watching an old video about the knights of ren and you said sidious enacted a purge against all force users so I assume it’s the same for order 66 cuz Ahsoka wasn’t a Jedi during order 66 so why did the clones turn against her if the order was only meant for Jedi instead of all “force users”
I think they kept the Sith artifacts for a few reasons, to know their enemy better and to perhaps discover/develop new lightside abilities to counter any new Darkside abilities they learn about.
Very few people have access to them, they're not doing that.
In KoTOR, I always held on to every sith artifact I could nab. Destroying them is to the sith's benefit, not the jedi's. The dark side is out there and it will always be out there, so understanding exactly how it works and what it can do is necessary to fight it. Hell, just use Exar Kun as an example. Kun ignited his saberstaff directly into his master to end the fight. This trick worked only because the master didn't know it was possible. Destroying all knowledge of saberstaffs will only condemn yet another individual to die whenever they get reinvented. Or possibly a lot of people. Usually a dead Jedi is going to be followed by a lot of dead other people.
Know your enemy and know yourself and you can fight a hundred battles without disaster - Sun Tzu
This was well covered in "Master & Apprentice," and "Dooku: Jedi Lost."
Theoretically, there is also the reality that as virtuous as the Jedi held themselves in their own eyes, all of their members were fallible. Therefore, there exist the possibility that there may have been Sith artifacts stored (and thereby not destroyed) due to the finder/cataloger/both being unwilling to destroy said artifacts. Sometimes the power to destroy is not in question, but the willingness to destroy.
There also exists those who know that the Force is an entity of both Good AND Evil, leading to the potential belief that destroying anything touched by the Force, unless deemed absolutely necessary, is in a way moving against the whole of the Living Force. This may have been seen as a more radical view, but based on the beliefs of some of the Jedi we know of (Quigon Gin being an example, if I am remembering correctly) we can infer that this belief did have roots and branches already established at least by the time of Order 66.
Anyway, those are my thoughts.
Oh I like this idea of a Jedi Shadow. That would be amazing
Why are there seemingly so few, if any, Light Side artifacts? Why is that only the Dark Side seems to be receptive to being imprinted onto physical objects? In addition, the Jedi Temple on Coruscant was supposedly built atop a powerful nexus of Dark Side power. So was the ancient Jedi site on Ahch-To, as well as Yoda's home on Dagobah. Why are the Jedi so drawn to objects and locations strong with the Dark Side?
Possibly in the same way that positive and negative magnetic charges attract? I believe it was speculated in one of the Thrawn Trilogy books that the two "charges" cancelling out was how Yoda was able to hide out on Dagobah.
@@benrompen7100 - Which made sense for Yoda hiding from the Empire. But it makes less sense for temples where Jedi were being trained. At least if the Jedi really are so worried about their students having direct contact with the Dark Side.
Light side users aren't interested in artificially boosting their power, also the Sith corrupted the force nexus beneath the temple.
The Jedi had training books but most of their knowledge was passed down from Master to Padawan and there was plenty of them... but even before the rule of two I'm sure the sith would want to hoard and increase their knowledge with said artifacts and holocrons
I think because the dark side of the force commonly causes the user to alienate/distrust/murder their associates, there is a greater utility in knowledge and power that can be housed in an object (rather than a teacher or ally). I also believe that artifacts of the force are kind of more advanced, so the Sith who are drawn to extremes would be more likely to utilize them. Much of the Jedi way involved caution around emotions and violence, compared to the sith ideology of “take, take, take”. The ability to store force energies into an object is almost like putting songs into an iPod, and the Jedi Order are Amish.
ORDER 66
I have a few theories of my own as to why Jedi might keep these artifacts around. I'll address them by 'type' of artifact.
Non-haunted items: These items contain knowledge, information, and techniques that Jedi might find useful in some way, shape, or form. While some Dark force techniques would likely tempt the user with continued use, learning to understand how a power works has it's uses from learning how to defend against, or counter-balance with a proper Light force power to negate it entirely.
Haunted items: Since these items are housing actual spirits of people, Jedi may face a sort of conundrum where they simply cannot destroy them, for doing so would also destroy that person's spirit. Such a act is 100% counter to a Jedi's sense of compassion. While they may kill in battle and combat they do so knowing that the dead will rejoin the Force. To destroy a spirit would not only throw compassion out of the window entirely by denying them any chance of redemption it would also deny them unity with the Force; harming the Force itself and going WAY out of the natural order of things. It's my opinion that this act would be as damaging to a Light-sider, if not more, than the item itself. The only option available to them is to try and hide and lock the item away for the safety of all in hopes that no one is harmed by the item, but also that the spirit could be persuaded to seek Balance, leave the item voluntarily, and rejoin the Force.
there would be insane strategic value to having these artifacts around and specifically for study by the high masters of the various councils, this would explain how the council maintains a search for the sith, more than that we know individuals like mace and yoda can resist the pull of the dark but i think any studies would be taboo if not relevant to the given conversation.
It should be common knowledge to anyone who is actually paying attention that the jedi ARE a dark side organization.
First they created the Sith Order.
They collect dark side artifacts.
They hide knowledge from the rest of the galaxy .
They have absolutely no problem killing force users that disagree with them.
For example: Yoda had a force vision granted by the whills of the clones slaughtering the jedi , but kept it to himself and did nothing.
Mace Windu attempted to assassinate the Supreme Chancellor.
Obi-Wan Kenobi blatantly lied to Luke.
Obi-Wan Kenobi left Anakin to die on Mustafar.
As so-called guardians of the galaxy they knowingly allowed slavery and other atrocities to happen because the corrupt republic told them to.
They were closer to the dark side than most Sith .
1 thing you didn't say a possibility they might also keep to find light side groups or jedi artifacts or other light side artifacts.
I kept thinking he was going to say to test if someone has started to turn toward the dark side. Perhaps someone that has started to turn would react more from the presence of a dark artifact.
Have you done a Video on what Dark Artifacts are in the Jedi Vault? Like the ones we know must be there?
Star Wars: Shadow with Jedi black ops treasure hunters, would be an incredible show! Disney needs to hire you.
That was my idea for the Canon! Shadows of the Order I called it. A master and apprentice in the Jedi shadows during the clone wars and after order 66. Showcasing their struggles with the empire, realizing its Sith origin, and possibly the eventual fall of one of them to the Inquisition.
Another reason to keep them is that-if I remember correctly-the Sith knew some things about the Force that weren't evil, per se, but that the Jedi had forgotten over the ages.
A comic series to check out that goes into somewhat into Jedi sentinels is the high republic series trail of shadows. However, I would like to see either a TV series or a comic series, going more into the Jedi shadows as you mentioned before I think that would be awesome
8:09 yeah that's who needs Trákata! and yeah I always assumed that that's how Jedi would approach Sith artifacts. balance and all that.
To defeat thy enemy you must know your enemy.
I like your theory. Jedi Shadows sound pretty cool. It would be great story. Would like to see tv show about it. I would watch :) May the Force be with you too
I would watch that show in a heartbeat.
Wow that's a great idea for a series which unfortunately means we'll never see it...it's too good for Disney.
I would most definitely watch it
Read it and if need be play it on console or cpu.
Interesting. I always was very curious about the Jedi Shadows and the Shadows during Lucian Dray’s time.Especially during that time period.
Wasn’t the Jedi temple built over a Sith temple?
You make better content than 7,8,9. They should hire you
I was thinking that since everything in Star Wars is tied to a dark side and a light side that destruction of a Sith item can either create a disruption in the balance or that it cause a Jedi artifact to be destroyed. Although not Star Wars, this concept is used in Dark Crystal, where the death of a Ur mystic is connected to the death of a Skeksis. Perhaps the study and preservation is tied to determining what affect a destruction of the artifact would have in the Force or Jedi artifacts.
I agree, but as you stated, some artifacts have been destroyed. Have they ever tried tossing an artifact into the sun? It seem like that would be an easy way to destroy it.
It's like when your Dad leaves his weed in a place where his teenager will find it, it's used as a test for the Jedi masters themselves, to have such power and knowledge at your fingertips but to not partake. I definitely took my dad's weed and got busted
FANtastic Idea ‼️
There is no emotion; there is peace. There is no ignorance; there is knowledge. There is no passion; There is serenity. There is no death; there is only the Force. A Jedi does not act for personal power or wealth but seeks knowledge and enlightenment.
I would love that as a series. Star Wars has always focused on the Jedi and the triumph over evil but we need movies/shows that are focused around Sith ideology. I personally cannot wait for The Acolyte. I just hope that it tends to focus on the Dark Side of the Force primarily. We have never fully explored the Sith religion or what draws certain people to it. I would honestly love a new Trilogy that focuses on The Old Republic and the creation of both the Sith and Jedi orders. Long before the Skywalker saga. We have seen enough about the characters and stories that surround that part of its history. I would love to see its progression from the beginning and explore Sith Lord's such as Darth Revan, Darth Nihilus, Darth Bane etc. There is so many stories in the 1,000+ years before the Darth Plageuis/Darth Sidious Era begins. I can only hope!🤞🏼🤞🏼
The holocron vault, which can be accessed by council members that have been granted the rank of master.
That sounds like a awesome show to watch I would totally watch that
Absolutely, it could be the best idea for a start wars movie yet.
I think one of the reasons to keep the artifacts was in case a new sith had the same, or at least very similar, artifacts. The Jedi would then be able to study the artifacts to help give them an advantage in battle.
My mask isn't a Sith artifact. It's a Mandalorian helmet I found during the Mandalorian Wars.
Maybe it was another way to preserve the balance of the force, keep enough of the dark around, while giving it minimal acknowledgment? I keep thinking about the yin-yang thing. Keeping it near them would also be within the philosophy of "keep your friends close, but keep your enemies closer". Especially if it was an artifact to strong or perhaps too dangerous to destroy. I'm sure there are artifacts that would have horrible consequences from being destroyed. They could piss off the dark side of the force. Or maybe the force as a whole?
Just a bunch of thoughts on it.
No, the Dark Side isn't supposed to exist. It's very existence impedes upon the life bringing responsibilities of the Cosmic Force. That the Living Force will eventually set forth the motions every time to rebalance itself via destroying the corrupting factors. Sith Artifacts may possess will but ultimately wouldn't under normal circumstance be able to overtake the Light. Or interrupt the processes of the Force, until a Force Sensitive comes along and actualizes the will of those artifacts.
The Dark Side isn't apart of a duality tbh, it's a cancer.
Good vid
Keep your friends close but your enemys closer.
Most likly same reason the Vatican keep their vault. To make sure artifacts and texts never to be seen again
I would definitely like to see a show about the dark Jedi and the sith artifacts
9:15 What's the name of the song/band at the end?
Yes I would, no offense to Ashoka and the Mandolorian series, but Im tired if filler shows in between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope. I wish to see new sides of both the Jedi and Sith that we have yet to see on the big screen.
It's crazy to me that the jedi predominant feature has been their willing ignorance in acknowledging that could happen to them
To know your enemy is to destroy your enemies
I would love to see a jedi that uses both sides dark and light, also how he keeps the balance within himself so no side overtakes
That was starkiller but he’s no longer canon
0:30 in "the Jedi library is one of the most closely guarded archives in the entire galaxy"
Vietnam flashback to SW Battlefront 2 2005 the campaign mission where the 501st try to protect this library but Jedi value destroying these books over their own self preservation lol
Jedi council: Because we make the rules. If you don't like it. Eat lightsaber you filthy Sith heretic.
I always kinda thought, that deep down, the jedi always knew that the force lives in balance, and that the dark side would never go away.
I think by "study" they mean to assist in the creation of the sith.
If only a certain council was able to access them, did that rule apply to Yoda the Grandmaster aswell? Or even the Jedi High Council?
Balance always is the best way to be
NNNNNNOOOOOOO
In the Jedi Sith wars the Jedi struck first by exiling those who studied the dark side. Even though the very force which created them encouraged study of both sides of the force. The Sith ,who are great at holding onto past injustice and pain by definition will never forget this.
Adding this comment to this video as well, I would honestly pay to have this man teach me the way of the jedi as a philosophy of life a way to live and what not it could be a fun and interesting way to teach morals
You would also keep them in an attempt to ensure that past history does not repeat itself.
You need to know what has come before, to understand what may be the future.
The Old Republics comic is a good read, and touches on the idea. if it was not referenced yet.
I would love to see the series you've described in this video. Disney take notice please.
I'd say this is why Palpatine pushed for Anakin to be on the council, to gain access to the restricted section of the archives. To gain these artifacts. Although had he, he could have really went mad and killed palpatine then lol.
I wonder if Yoda knew about the rule of 2, or was just making an observational statement in Phantom Menace.
Like jedi ghost busters or jedi paranormal activity
I know it's off topic, but are Luminara unduli, & Barriss offee Jedi shadows, because they wear Black robes.
Is that why In rebels Ezra was getting all possessed when he was using the sith helicon the one he found with maul ?
