What What In his defense, I think he meant on a self propelling chassis. The “Gustav”, as everyone knows, was a railed gun.
It’s technically self propelled sure it needs a special track but if it was built it could move itself

The only reason I think that the Karl Gerat was useful was only to provide a means of destroying fortifications in an area with a low density of railways. It would have been a liability in a place like France, but in many parts of the Soviet Union, it was a practical, if over large, solution to a specific tactical problem. A more practical platform might have been a the reintroduction of the massive 42cm mortars of First World War fame on a self-propelled mount.
There was some of these gun that played a role on the western front in World War II, the US army captured a few of these guns but sadly were scrapped later on after the war at the Aberdeen proving grounds in the states.
However the on in kubinka, the story of that one after 1945 remains a mystery till this day. I hope more of the story of what happened to the Karl-Gerät mortars will be told in the future.

BustedReijii I think artillery should be more precise but also have not so big guns .
Armored Warfare has pretty good artillery mechanics. They fire fast, relatively low damage per shot, the opponent always gets an artillery warning, and the artillerys position is revealed after three shots if they didn't move from the same spot.

So typical Wunderwaffe is absolutely useless? This man seems like he doesn't know what he's talking about. V1, V2, V3 rockets, Tigers Is and IIs, jet fighters, StG44 - first assault rifle, U-boots - All those german inventions were "absolutely useless"?!
BoniacZ They couldn't produce enough Tigers, jet fighters or StG-44s, the Allies developed effective countermeasures against the U-boats, and the V-rocket program was in a way a waste of resourses compared to the results. Of course, these projects paved way for modern day weapons and technology, but it was often too little, too late.

the hang-time of this shell would be absurd. but the impact would be devastating with a 30+ meter stun of 20-30 seconds..
Tier 10 artillery with low range but a destructive force equal to a KV-2 Vs Cromwells. 65 second reload with BIA and rammer. max ammo of 12. each round 4,000+ cost.
well.. until wargaming nerfed it to do less than 500 damage (like they did to the tier 10 SPG's) and less than 10 meters of splash or stun...
