      What you mean "2 motors", you have gone through 2 motors? How reliable and easy to maintain these boats? I live in remote Alaska with no roads or places to service the boat. I appreciate your feedback

    Awesome boat! I love the ecoboost and weigh savings! I had a good friend growing up in Alaska his day had the wooldridge Alaskan I believe it was either 17 or 19ft and they had a 150 yamaha jet outboard on it. Was a blast fishing with them and we definitely went through some skinny water

      It's all at the end of the video. Also, the engine RPM is kept down to 4150 (engine peak is 4800) so the actual power output (from Indmar curve) is about 260. It says 47 mph.

    Curious why no one seems to be doing this with the 3.0 or the 3.5?

    • @Gduuub
      @Gduuub ปีที่แล้ว

      Indmar has not marinized those ones yet.

    • @jonjackinsky1002
      @jonjackinsky1002 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Gduuub that still begs the question why no one’s done it. There’s millions of boats with non marine engines. I’m in Alaska where it’s common to just grab an engine and swap. But I can’t find anything on someone doing it with a 3.0 or 3.5 ecoboost engine. My assumption is that exhaust manifold heat is to much so far.

    • @WooldridgeBoats
      @WooldridgeBoats  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@jonjackinsky1002 It not being marinized is an easy answer to why no one done it, at least from a manufacturers POV. Coast guard regulations are pretty detailed. There are ZERO Wooldridge boats that leave the factory without a marinized engine so i assume you are speaking of other brand manufacturers that release boats with not marinized engines. If a guy wanted to experiment with boat projects he was building in his garage for fun, it would be one thing as he can technically do whatever he wants. I imagine this is probably the case in Alaska as lots of folks enjoy modifying their boats during the winter. But someone who is a manufacturer building to resell and meeting all CG standards its a different story. Does not matter how exciting that engine is if it makes the process more troublesome. So you should be asking this question of the Marinizing companies Like Indmar.

      @@gckshea for the river applications it probably works well but without a vee, it will be rough in heavy chop. That boat would beat the crew in 1-2 foot chop from where I’m at. But where you are it probably does good.

    Might I suggest not encouraging people to run at night with their docking lights on. Not only is it illegal, it blinds other boaters.

    • @WooldridgeBoats
      @WooldridgeBoats  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Were not encouraging night running, we just want to give folks a safer option than a hand held spot light if they come back later than planned. Sometimes the hunt or landing the fish takes longer than expected and you get back to the launch with less than ideal light for loading the boat. Many launches don't have lights so seeing the beach and trailer better in those situations with a light bar on the nose is extremely helpful. thanks for watching.
