2023 Accepted Sheridan Portfolio!!!

hello hello i finally made a youtube video!!! thank you for watching, i hope it helps in any way.. i was always watching these types of videos during the portfolio season and it always helped me make my own estimates on what sheridan was expecting from me.
i still don't know how posting on youtube works but i plan to vlog my college experience when the time comes !!

Congrats! I graduated from Sheridan over a decade ago! Sheridan was a good experience for me, though at the time we didn't have cintiqs to use! Let me know if there's still that massive 2 inch crack in the wall in the digital painting rooms lol (The ones by the lifedrawing room) I think.. room 104 or something like that LOL.. it's on the way to the A wing.

Hello! Your works are amazing. I was wondering if there is a required size for the figure drawing. Is it advisable to draw it in a big paper?

hihi thank you for watching!! there is no size requirement for figure drawing, but my friend in sheridan told me that they always use large newsprint paper in class! personally i practiced on a sketchbook 23cm x 30.2cm size so whichever you prefer will work out, but i recommend drawing big!

ahh thank you!! hopefully im not too late for answering😭😭 personal works dont require anything specific! animated works are definitely recommended if you want a higher mark though. but like i said in the video, dont put in any works you arent proud of! if animation isnt your strong suit, youre better off with illustrations or character designs alone. its okay if this is the case btw!! youre applying for the school to learn anyways💪😼 but the profs like to see variety in skillset for personal work. good luck applying!!

i'm a domestic student! tuition for me is being fully paid for through student loans and a scholarship i earned the year before

Hey I was just wondering about your figure art because the application specifies drawing from life and not a photograph? Is there any way you can get punished for this?

ooh this is a good question, i used youtube videos for "life" drawing lmao.. you can always find sessions online!!! the experience is very different from actual life drawing sessions but it does the job. the profs can probably tell its not from life by the same poses they get every year from everyone using the same videos but there hasnt been a penalty as far as i know. i still highly recommend trying finding sessions near you regardless!
