Arthur Long Theirs always going to be some kind of learning carve when first playing a game. You can't expect someone to play a game for the first time a know how to play it perfectly.
When Sam's jaw dropped at having being sent back at the beginning of the stage after getting so far, I felt a bit of sympathy especially when he thought that he was finished with the stage after completely only a quarter of it. I think we should recognize that Jeannie got that far on a pacifist playthrough. That's pretty impressive. That's like someone digging a hole 3 ft deep with the wrong end of the shovel.
PieriPlolz Gaming Well, Undertale is widely hated and loved by many different people, but the others are mostly just loved. They're all steam games, and I think I can speak for the majority of people who have played them when I say they're great games!
For a second there, Jasser was doing really well fighting the boss. I was gonna be real impressed if he beat the boss with only one hp . . . then he died. I was rooting for you, man.
As an old school gamer I think I played more challenging games like this. Kids today have it to easy. Games aren't that hard anymore....except for meat boy (loved that game).
Nah there's a lot of challenging games. There's just a wider range of games so theres something that suits everyone. Dragon age inquisition is a great example. You can play it on casual and its a very easy going experience or you can play it harder and harder and the most difficult option is a total nightmare.
Well difficulty in the NES error was used to extend gameplay. And today difficultly is not needed to extend gameplay. I disagree that games today are inherently easier I just think they use difficulty in different ways. I'm sure it takes about the same time to play through God of War the first time through, as it takes a person new megaman to learn and master megaman the first time they beat it. Also WRT to meat boy, even though it is seem difficult I feel it's still a different kind of hard as NES hard. So Super Meat Boy gives a lot of really hard short challenges but really no punishment for failure(you've have unlimited lives and dying only resets the very short level you are on), which draws in to the game and gives you a lot game play. While NES hard is usually 1 long challenge which takes about an hour to beat once you've mastered it, but takes a few months to master it. And when you die the punishment can be quite sever(Sometimes limited continues force restart of the game, or even with unlimited continues you start over the entire level).
I agree. I'm 16, yet I enjoy more difficult games like this. I think it may be because I've always been into retro gaming. Super Mario Bros. 3, Sonic Advance 2 and Crash Bandicoot 2 were the first games I owned I believe. Fun times were had with those.
Oh gosh. The only way I could beat that game was with save states. The section where you ride the one-wheeled bike away from the swirly vortex was easily the worst level, although the rat race is a close second.
I will save Retro Gaming... Somehow, I think. Well, I got my friends into some 8-bit and 16-bit games 'cause we played Smash Bros together on my U. They just play COD, Battlefield etc on their consoles, so I guess there is some hope.
***** Oh, wait. I didn't write my comment correctly. Oh well, I hope you get the point anyway. They get interested in specific characters, for example I got one of my friends interested in Zelda and Megaman, and another one in Metroid
I actually played this for the first time like 3 years ago and I was having as much trouble as these kids, made me want to try out more classic games because they are actually challenging and fun to play
Hylianguy38 Trust me I've definitely heard of it. That game is on an entirely different level. But in my opinion this was the hardest in the classic series.
Man I played this game when I was five, can't help but feel like a geezer when I see these teens are playing them for the first time. I'm so old I played Mega Man for nostalgic reasons back in 2004.
***** Content, story telling, collecting, the experience in general, challenge -all different ways games can be fun. Do you enjoy other things based on whether or not they're challenging? Movies? Food? Does food have to be challenging in order to be good?
eugene Perry games have always featured different levels of difficulty, food hasn't, so, yeah... (unless you consider hunting but who hunts for food anymore)
***** I don't play Fallout for easiness (console commands like tgm), but to be immersed in an awesome FPSRPG in which can be fun, or just dicking around w/ Gatling mini-nukes. :)
I first played the original "Mega Man" when I was about ten years old, and to this day - 24 years later - I still can't beat the Yellow Devil without using the Electric Pause trick.
Moviefan2k4 Finally someone else understands that Mega Man 5 is difficult. Most people say it is the easiest of the original games, which is complete and absolute bull.
funny because Capcon takes pride in the fact that megaman holds the world record for most installments in a single game series. Problem is the majority of them have never seen a release outside Japan.
Isabella Mcdonald gaming started all thanks to my mom, she bought me a GBA when I was 7 and ever since that classic games and Nintendo, and Sega games are what I always play now
Agreed Seriouskano2, that song is awesome, I love the MM 2 soundtrack, Wily's Castle 1 and 2 and Heat mans stage anyone? also, every tried going buster only? I do that everytime I play on my 3DS (bosses I don't beat with buster: Wily and the beam turret)
My family never really bought any consoles back in the NES/SNES days, so my sister and I caught what we could on friends' systems. Mega Man 2. Wood Man's stage. I still haven't beat it, all these years later. Ask me why I always tried to start with Wood Man instead of Metal Man, and I *still* can't come up with an answer XD
No I'm not, I just want them to appreciate what we had as kids and to see how it has evolved through the years. My son loves regular NES and he is only 3 :-) Plus Nintendo has always been more kid friendly compared to the stuff they have no a days.
Midwest Retro Gamers you reallize there is the wii u now right? and there are kids games on newer consoles too right? what your doing is like if i gave my teenager a horse and carriage before a car.
Yes we have a Wii U and he does play Mario Kart 8. Technically I did start him on NES first, but we have a Wii U and he likes Mario Kart so its all good. :-)
the guy with the red shirt is the only a bit of gaming in him, 1- he checked what does every button do from the start, something which all the other failed at. 2- he was the only one to reach the boss, also something which the others fail at.
Sigh... there are tons of hard games still made. I recommend you trying for example Völgarr the Viking or Oniken. Especially Völgarr is a masterpiece. Just search a bit, you'll be surprised. Hard games aren't dead.
odcrl1 you're close. Indies are (and were) almost always hard (because it's easier to make a hard game interesting),but big-budget modern games are too forgiving. You have no fear of jumping onto spikes because you won't lose anything, you'll just respawn next to them. If you kill your character, you restart from a checkpoint, not from beginning. If you see a bird, you think "It's a bird", not "Hmm, it may poop explosives, better watch out".
1:52 "Death at every corner" That's what most old school 2D games are. Notorious/famous for these would be Capcom, Nintendo, Konami, Namco and actually most developers from 2D Era, time before the emergence of 3D games, had the modus operandi of making their games "challenging". Yeah, Nintendo wasn't exactly soft in the past.
Not everybody are gamers. You should remember that. But i'm gamer. Young gamer. But i like to play games sometimes like Wolfenstein 3D and some old stuff
Yeah. Modern games are perpetual EZ mode. Even Dark Souls. Though, protip: moving the controller around in the air does not in any way assist you at all. It's not a wiimote or whatever. XD
I was born in the 80's and it was though. Video games were so expensive back then and each household could only have a few games for the kids. So if you found some games to be too hard, you had no choice but to keep playing it until you beat it. Couldn't just throw it away and buy a new game. And most of the Famicom games were so damn difficult.
Today probably not so much, but in the late 80s you could pick any random kid off the street, mention Contra, and they'd recite the Konami Code as a Pavlovian response.
come on guys, these guys are literally just playing this game for the first time. Many of them aren't gamers, and they are just as bad at the game as you were when you first played it. Give them some slack, they haven't been playing this game for 27 years.
This game does not look hard. These kids just obviously do not play games. Running into the bad guys obviously is not a good idea. Spikes are not good. Shields block things. Ugh.
Don't let your eyes deceive you. I played Mega Man 2 on my iPhone. That game kicked my ass. Playing these Mega Man games from the 8bit era is a lot easier said than done.
its actually pretty hard first time through. nes games were made that way on purpose to increase its play time. Once you get it down you can beat the games fairly quickly.
It's easy to sit behind a screen and criticize these kids on what they're doing wrong. Pick up a controller and try it. I'm sure your tone will change. "Ugh."
Actually, this game is very hard. And I'm not some kid who isn't used to old-school 2D platformers either (I'm 28), so it's not that. This game is just genuinly hard, just like many games were back in the 2D-era. It's nothing like games nowadays that hold the players hand with tutorials, save points everywhere, regenerating health, ect.
I'm with you pal all the hard work that I did passing each boss and all the Death that it took to get there at the end, it's just painful to watch how slow they are it's almost like they think it's just super Mario Brothers or something
Most of these kids are not even gamers, so they are completely clueless as to what to do, which is understandable. For those who are a bit experienced with gaming this is probably the first time they're playing Mega Man, so cut them some slack. I know for a fact that i had a hard time beating these levels as a kid/teen, when playing for the first time.
Martin L I beat the iceman stage the first time I played. With just the mega gun. then i beat the game in a day. Kids are too addled with ADHD and impatience to get though a game like Mega Man nowadays.
Martin L Moreover, we grew up in a world where you literally had nothing better to do than sit around for hours getting really good at certain games because it was before the real boom of online connectivity, so there weren't many other ways to entertain yourself, and you only had a relative handful of games to play. Now, if you get stuck in a game, it's really easy to just do something else, because /there are other things to do/.
Yeah. It also teaches you that some prizes are not worth it. The energy pack placed so close to many enemies that would leave you worse off trying to go for it.
Bro idk what these kids thought. What, just because its old its supposed to be easy? Nah bitch, game evolved, but not in the sence that the difficulty would increase.
I don't know one kid from my childhood that beat that game. nothing worse than getting far in a game and not having any way of saving your progress. kids today have no idea how lucky they are lol
Good games are all about enjoyment. Some people like games with auto-save. They get frustrated when they have to re-do a lot of a stage, which is understandable. I hope these teens understand that not every game is going to be easy.
omgeodude ya, being able to save is a good thing, I was talking about autosave specifically, as a joke, 'cause, ya know, it was hilarious when your friend smashed the controller because he forgot to save his game before fighting the boss. good times.

I think we should recognize that Jeannie got that far on a pacifist playthrough. That's pretty impressive. That's like someone digging a hole 3 ft deep with the wrong end of the shovel.
The first rule of playing any video game: Know the controls first before you start playing
This was Megaman, You learn the control and enemy tricks on the fly.
there are 2 butons. b to jum,p, a to shoot.....
and if you wanna climb up stairs you press up....
seems fairly intuitive to me.
Many games of today are nothing compared to these old masterpieces.
Just in case, we have emulators to save money :3
And of course the SOUNDTRACKS
I love Mega Mans "Willys Castle" !!
Very old comment but a very good one :D
i agree, i always go back to the older games even though there are plenty of new ones
PieriPlolz Gaming Well, Undertale is widely hated and loved by many different people, but the others are mostly just loved.
They're all steam games, and I think I can speak for the majority of people who have played them when I say they're great games!
Jesus, I'm not that much older than most of these kids but I'm sure I was runnin thru the motions of this game b4 they were born
For a second there, Jasser was doing really well fighting the boss. I was gonna be real impressed if he beat the boss with only one hp . . . then he died. I was rooting for you, man.
Best game ever
Two and three are easily better.
bickuribox12
Welcome to a very small nonvocal minority.
bickuribox12 This hurts me so much to watch, especially after watching your Megaman 2 playthrough.
bickuribox12 You should play some Megaman X or Zero
X is better but thats just me man
As an old school gamer I think I played more challenging games like this. Kids today have it to easy. Games aren't that hard anymore....except for meat boy (loved that game).
meat boy and iwbtg are tributes to old school difficulty so...
Microsoft and Sony are to repetitive, making games easy. Nintendo has been going on back to their roots.
THERE ARE NO SAVE POINTS! MWAHAHAHAHAHA!
There are but they’re like 2or3 save points
actually there are
And in the original, there's not even passwords!
there are checkpoints
papapizzababa • that was not in mega man 1
Sniper Joe: exists
Girl: "Oh, ninjas"
The first minute and a half was painful.... they NEED to play Battletoads.
Oh gosh. The only way I could beat that game was with save states. The section where you ride the one-wheeled bike away from the swirly vortex was easily the worst level, although the rat race is a close second.
Why? That game is straight up ridiculous
Ghouls and goblins.
ajajajaja LOL 3:35 "What makes you think your finish?" jajaja
*finished (adjective)
finish = verb
"You never said that you can't walk on those." She seriously thought that you could walk on the spikes. I can't even deal with this.
Castlevania. That's a worthy sequel to this video.
Want more facepalming?
Either Castlevania or Contra.
Contra, MINUS the Konami code.
That's what I'm talkin' about lol. Good call. I said original Contra.. what about Rygar or Rush'n attack. Yeah buddy lol.
Metlhed420 god no not Contra
Bombman's stage is the easiest in Megaman 1 they should play the Gutsman stage c;
Lan No
Make them suffer
Let them play Elecman's stage
WITHOUT THE ROLLING CUTTER
Lan I played Gutsman stated first cuz that what mega man do in the manga I read. And I thought it was supposed to be the easiest.😅
Actually cut man is the easiest.
LMAO!!! They'd probably never get past the conveyors. XD
yeah, I'm still working on it....Also having nightmares about the platforms at night.
R.I.P Retro Gaming
And humanity
Nice profile pic No. 9
To be fair, mega man 1 was the most difficult, but they could've checked what each button did at the start of the level! There are only 5 buttons!
Agree!
You probably never heard of Mega Man & Bass. That game makes Mega Man 1 play like Mega Man 2 on easy mode.
Hylianguy38 Trust me I've definitely heard of it. That game is on an entirely different level. But in my opinion this was the hardest in the classic series.
Megaman 1 is easy :/ Honestly, I find megaman 9 and 10 much harder, especially mm10 hard mode
TRONMERN CUTSMAN Oh OK I've never played 9 or 10.
Man I played this game when I was five, can't help but feel like a geezer when I see these teens are playing them for the first time. I'm so old I played Mega Man for nostalgic reasons back in 2004.
CASTLEVANIA
The steam kid. Heck yeah
December 2015, get the same group to play Mega Man 2. They might actually beat a level xD
I'm 17 and recently bought a NES. These games are so hard compared to today's games
*****
lol there ya go
***** Content, story telling, collecting, the experience in general, challenge -all different ways games can be fun. Do you enjoy other things based on whether or not they're challenging? Movies? Food? Does food have to be challenging in order to be good?
ScorpyX
LOL
eugene Perry games have always featured different levels of difficulty, food hasn't, so, yeah... (unless you consider hunting but who hunts for food anymore)
*****
I don't play Fallout for easiness (console commands like tgm), but to be immersed in an awesome FPSRPG in which can be fun, or just dicking around w/ Gatling mini-nukes. :)
That stage is like... So easy...
Iago Murchio well you have experience...
Phantom_Mask It wasn't when you first played it
Not really. Especially for people who have never played it before. The original Mega Man is pretty hard.
Cutman is easier IMO
I'm 14 and I LOVE old games and everyone at school calls me weird
old games are awesome!
i don't like old games.
yeah well, i can imagine that
Retro's love
Retro's life
Same here bro.
Ducktales would be awesome...
+Aito99 It's a LOT easier, so they might have a better time playing it.
It is also another great Capcom game!
here it is the link, enjoy it buddy, this is a great video too. th-cam.com/video/fQRtvktq_Hg/w-d-xo.html
I first played the original "Mega Man" when I was about ten years old, and to this day - 24 years later - I still can't beat the Yellow Devil without using the Electric Pause trick.
Well, it is probably the most difficult entry in the NES series, along with "Mega Man 5". The rest are easier by comparison.
Moviefan2k4 Finally someone else understands that Mega Man 5 is difficult. Most people say it is the easiest of the original games, which is complete and absolute bull.
Arctos
The easiest of them all for the NES is probably "Mega Man 2", especially since the Quick Boomerang kills half the bosses in Wily's castle.
*****
After the original, the Yellow Devil doesn't reappear until "Mega Man 3".
The original is very hard. But I doubt is took your 10 year old self so long to realize you can shoot.
It's great to see people truly experiencing Mega Man for the first time!
Nintendo, please buy MegaMan.
We need more games.
I second that
funny because Capcon takes pride in the fact that megaman holds the world record for most installments in a single game series. Problem is the majority of them have never seen a release outside Japan.
Please make a battle network remake for 3DS, with online battling mode
Or a battlnetwork mmo
Or Nintendo could buy Capcom altogether than just buying the rights to Mega Man.
You know you're old when a guy growing a beard and mustache says the video games you grew up with are beyond their time.
I cried inside.
These kids have about as much direction as a broken compass.
Here are your average COD players.
Then, you have me, the under-avg. COD player.
The one who only played a shooting game using Inkling. In SSB.
I'm 13 and I love the nes and mega man why do kids in my generation only care about graphics
Ikr
ThisSmartGuy I'm pretty much the same kind of person. In fact, megaman's my favorite video game franchise!
Isabella Mcdonald gaming started all thanks to my mom, she bought me a GBA when I was 7 and ever since that classic games and Nintendo, and Sega games are what I always play now
ThisSmartGuy All you guys are so precious and unique.
I know right I am 11 and the kids in my just get turned off a game cause graphics.
Have them play Touhou.
Please, PLEASE, have them play Touhou!
OMG YES!!!
Choiniki...
Yessss!!
The 6th
MAKE THIS HAPPEN!
TOUHOU! WE NEED THIS!
Now let them play- MEGAMAN X!!!
That's a good idea. It would be fun to see how they react to the transition of graphics, mechanics, enemies, and difficulty.
SZskits
and maybe for an extra, show them egoraptor's sequilitis about megaman x?
***** Yeah
***** I agree Megaman X would be good because we can see if Egoraptor was right about how well the first level teaches new players.
I love megaman games but they should play megaman 2 instead of the first or what do u guys think?
Now they know the struggle of gaming in the 90's.............THE STRUGGLE!!!!!
You have to admit it was super frustrating whatching these pathetic players fail.
They think they're getting shot at by a lot of stuff? Try playing Touhou. :P
Yeah.. playing Touhou, even on Easy Mode, would probably give these kids nightmares. XD
or mushihime sama :p
Silver Surfer
***** Ghosts N Goblins
yes omg let them play Touhou
Have them play Megaman 2 so they can play against Airman.
エアーマンが倒せない!(Airman ga taosenai!)
I can't defeat Airman.
Airman ga taosenai!
funny cause Airman is the easiest boss ever.. XD
The song is so great! :D
I love megaman beat all games
My family never really bought any consoles back in the NES/SNES days, so my sister and I caught what we could on friends' systems.
Mega Man 2. Wood Man's stage. I still haven't beat it, all these years later. Ask me why I always tried to start with Wood Man instead of Metal Man, and I *still* can't come up with an answer XD
The Metal Blade rips Wood Man.
Woodman's music is better. That must be why.
Quickman ... and his reincarnation in Megaman 3. that's what fear is..
Metal Man is my personal starter.
Don't mean to brag but I've beaten Mega Man 2 5 times... All playthroughs on Normal mode but still...
Funny stuff, as a parent though I am starting them on Retro Games before they get to the Xbox and Playstation :-)
No I'm not, I just want them to appreciate what we had as kids and to see how it has evolved through the years. My son loves regular NES and he is only 3 :-) Plus Nintendo has always been more kid friendly compared to the stuff they have no a days.
Your son is very lucky. You must have an amazing collection.
Midwest Retro Gamers i wkhkll
jhjsśjcjjghvmytXce1
Teens react to legend of zelda
LoZ II
Yes!!
YEEEEEEEEEEEEES!
Windwaker in specific :P
this please
the guy with the red shirt is the only a bit of gaming in him,
1- he checked what does every button do from the start, something which all the other failed at.
2- he was the only one to reach the boss, also something which the others fail at.
I am impressed that despite the unrelenting challenge of the first Mega Man game, most of them enjoyed it.
And these kids are exactly why we can't have properly hard games.
Sigh... there are tons of hard games still made. I recommend you trying for example Völgarr the Viking or Oniken. Especially Völgarr is a masterpiece. Just search a bit, you'll be surprised. Hard games aren't dead.
jarkokoo
wow dude, Volgar? Maybe that's because it looks and it's made like a 16-bit game! He means Halo or something like that
odcrl1 you're close.
You could try increasing the difficulty instead of plowing through games on normal then claiming they are too easy.
got a whole lot of hard games on the pc, on steam to be exact.
1:52 "Death at every corner"
That's what most old school 2D games are. Notorious/famous for these would be Capcom, Nintendo, Konami, Namco and actually most developers from 2D Era, time before the emergence of 3D games, had the modus operandi of making their games "challenging". Yeah, Nintendo wasn't exactly soft in the past.
Dude Tecmo, Koei, Bandai, Banpresto, SNK and Rare were also part of the same era :P
Teens React: Street Fighter II. :D
Have them versus each other. It'll be great.
Great idea ! :D
Marvel vs Capcom?
Billy Batson Gonna take em for a ride?
Dark souls
Tristan Sylvester ?
Just because the game is hard doesn't mean it's bad
MegaMan is kinda hard but its soo fun.
not a retro game but I'd love to see them react to the binding of isaac
the original+wrath of the lamb because the rebirth doesn't have musics as good as the original.
yeah I was gonna say "not rebirth" but they'd probably ignore it and do the new popular one anyway pfft
Soda Sama while the original has better music, rebirth is vastly superior gameplay wise.
yess
Yes pleaase! I cant upvote comments on my phone but still, FineBros make this happen :D
welcome to the call of duty generation. Gamers with no gaming knowledge or haflway decent abilities.
Maybe they are bad because games have changed. I can't last 5 seconds alive in any online shooter
Maybe they just don't play video games at all.
Not everybody are gamers.
You should remember that.
But i'm gamer.
Young gamer.
But i like to play games sometimes like Wolfenstein 3D and some old stuff
It was pretty painful to watch
As a gamer of there generation, let me state that most of us are MUCH better than what you see here.
We all know that one person who tilts the controller while they are turning.
Not even turning, just pressing left and right.
"(gasp) you never said we can't walk on those~"
what, the sharp pointy spikes of death? hmm...
I know that a lot of them probably don't play video games, but beating mega man simply requires figuring out an enemy's attack pattern.
That's most games.
Yeah. Modern games are perpetual EZ mode. Even Dark Souls. Though, protip: moving the controller around in the air does not in any way assist you at all. It's not a wiimote or whatever. XD
1:07 This guy knows what's up
I was born in the 80's and it was though. Video games were so expensive back then and each household could only have a few games for the kids. So if you found some games to be too hard, you had no choice but to keep playing it until you beat it. Couldn't just throw it away and buy a new game.
And most of the Famicom games were so damn difficult.
Seriously? they thought that was hard? XD Have them play Contra or Battletoads or Ikaruga!
Battletoads isn't even that hard if you play it by yourself.
They'd be crying for their mommies after two levels of Ghouls n' Ghosts.
no no, not ghouls n' ghosts, that game is easier, make them play the NES original ghosts n' goblins
i would like teens to play bomberman not because it's difficult but because i am sure they will die a lot
Battletoads!?!?
You're an evil man, sir.
Teens react to Contra (original) for nes and don't tell them the cheat code
Today probably not so much, but in the late 80s you could pick any random kid off the street, mention Contra, and they'd recite the Konami Code as a Pavlovian response.
Yep that's completely true... But it would be fun to see these kids try and beat contra with only three lives..
They'd never make it past the first level. I know I wouldn't be able to.
mmmMatto my money is on that they wouldn't get passed the second bridge on level one
The cheat code is for pussys
As a big Mega Man fan this hurts to watch
come on guys, these guys are literally just playing this game for the first time. Many of them aren't gamers, and they are just as bad at the game as you were when you first played it. Give them some slack, they haven't been playing this game for 27 years.
i remember when i first started playing games, i think i was 4 and i was better than them
You're right, though the one mistake that most of us didn't make was trying to walk on the spikes.
5:00 You're not helping the girls can't play videogames stereotype -_-
it's not a stereotype if for the majority its true.
stereotypes are based off statistical facts. so infact MOST girls are bad at games :D
They're not helping the boys are good at videogames stereotype either tbh.
Dude, that stereotype is LOOOOONG gone
There is a Japanese youtuber named succulla who is a female gamer is a excellent player.
They think Mega Man's tough...try beating R-TYPE. (I did at 9)
Didn't beat the original, but I beat Super R Type, but hell that took me months when I was a kid.
Sure you did
This game does not look hard.
"Ugh."
Guardians of Termina
After watching this video and seeing their mistakes, yes. Going into it blindly, I would bet that you couldn't.
Goddammit I played every single Megaman game and this is just painful
Can barely keep my head from banging to the wall.
I just can't watch.
You realize it would be painful to watch you play this for the first time as well right
Same.
I'm with you pal all the hard work that I did passing each boss and all the Death that it took to get there at the end, it's just painful to watch how slow they are it's almost like they think it's just super Mario Brothers or something
5:05 RIP the future of humanity.
i'm so happy to hear that for you guys on your first T.V. show. Congrats
thanks!
I have it set to record just in case I miss it
1:23 - xD Nice & David
YOOOOOOO ITS DAT HOTNESS
I AM NOT A THREAT STOP ATTACKING ME
I owned at megaman when I was a kid
I still have NES and nintendo 64. who needs Xbox one?
LoneWildman these days i play quake and unreal. those games have awesome grafix man
same I'm 8
I have played the Mega Man series
+CraxyLunatickle all good
You don't need Xbox One. You need a PlayStation 4
PC master race
Now have them play Mega Man X. See if they can pick up on how the game teaches you like in Egoraptor's sequelitis video.
YEAH LEMONS
Will Sasso
also riding on cars
Fatone1927 *Insert epic guitar solo here* :P XD
C'mon now guys, there's two major face buttons and a Start and Select. It saddens me a few of them never thought to press B...
How is it that kids from the 80's/90's that had no internet could beat this game and not the modern teens with internet? This appalls me.
Excuse me devo but i have ADHD and have beat the mega man series for the nes
still have Nintendo Power magazine
Martin L Moreover, we grew up in a world where you literally had nothing better to do than sit around for hours getting really good at certain games because it was before the real boom of online connectivity, so there weren't many other ways to entertain yourself, and you only had a relative handful of games to play. Now, if you get stuck in a game, it's really easy to just do something else, because /there are other things to do/.
Red guy was the only decent gamer in that bunch. He actually observed, learned from his mistakes and was the only one to make it to the boss
ahhh the time when games were actually hard and you had to use your brain a lot more
Naw. Just learn paterns
I wouldn't say it's brains. I'd say more just memorization and having quick and precise movements on the controller.
Sporeboy you think this game is 30 min long...Lol
That would require a brain...
Well then I dare you to beat it in 30 min
I love how Josh is holding his controller like an Xbox Controller, lmao.
I kept wondering why the way he holds it looks so awkward x) thanks for pointing that out!
Make them play through it all. Make them feel the pain and humiliation of never beating this gem!
Hadmin especially when they meet the yellow devil 😉
I beat it in 1 hour
4:38 ...they're _spikes._ as in, things that *_IMPALE YOU._*
This is so cool to see them realizing the patterns and adjusting...so cool 😄 just playing through this for the first time now...
Yeah. It also teaches you that some prizes are not worth it. The energy pack placed so close to many enemies that would leave you worse off trying to go for it.
"This game is from 1987 it's like it's supposed to be easy..."
FOXY TIME TRAVEL!!!!
Bro idk what these kids thought. What, just because its old its supposed to be easy? Nah bitch, game evolved, but not in the sence that the difficulty would increase.
I don't know one kid from my childhood that beat that game. nothing worse than getting far in a game and not having any way of saving your progress. kids today have no idea how lucky they are lol
autosave is for wussies
lordkibagami lol well you can just call me King of the Wussies.
Good games are all about enjoyment. Some people like games with auto-save. They get frustrated when they have to re-do a lot of a stage, which is understandable. I hope these teens understand that not every game is going to be easy.
AceTheFace954 I didn't mean that to be a knock against you, it just reminded me of spending long hours of my youth trying to beat Blaster Master lol
omgeodude ya, being able to save is a good thing, I was talking about autosave specifically, as a joke, 'cause, ya know, it was hilarious when your friend smashed the controller because he forgot to save his game before fighting the boss. good times.
6:18 "oh when the shields not on him".....stay in school kids, STAY IN SCHOOL!
