Twist both sides of the straps but don't run your chains like that. Four straps and you're good if not using chains. If you're using chassis, just secure at the corners and you don't need straps.
Appreciate the content. Never throw the hook end over. NEVER!! You will damage the freight with bad practices. Also 2 means of securement in the front 10ft and the rear 10ft. A strap every 10ft in between. Some DOT officers are jerks. Ask me how I know. 😂😂
Whatever side the Rachet is on is where the stress is an it will pull load that direction, binder should be in the center of the load on the rear,or use 2 binders 1 on each side
@@anthonydterrybro the shipper didn't help me at all. In fact they said I have to get off their yard in 45 minutes because they lock the gate. I guess I got there close to when they close. I went to the one in Chicago. They were nice but didn't give any advice or direction.
@@anthonydterryi ask the loader for any tips or help he looked at me like I was crazy. I drove dry van tractor trailer combination for 6 years and now doing this because offered more money. But was not really shown how to secure anything just thrown out there
Man this is another fire video 🔥🔥🔥. Great content bro! Naw bro that's an awesome job you did securing the container. I wouldn't have done it any different. #letsgetit👊🏾💯
If you know anyone selling a dually please let me know. You and so many other TH-camrs are inspiration and I just turned 19, had my cdl since 18 it’s very difficult to get a job wit most company Insurance policy being 21+..
What’s good bro I don’t know anyone personally selling a dually but I know some dealerships. DM me on Instagram bro . I’m happy I’m inspiring you ! You’re young getting to it so you’ll be inspiring people as well!
I was on the same boat bro… currently 21 been cdl since 18…. Already bought me a dually fixin to start hotshotting soon little by little i been buying my equipment
My trailer is similar but it seems like my chains are too short to do it like this. I really like this way seems to work good. Guy that helped me said the chains my company provided were too short and i only have 2 inch straps
Depending on the distance you’re going most guys throw 4 straps on and one chain in the back pulling towards the front of the trailer. Hope that helps bro
😂😂😂 if you check your chains and straps every 50 miles, then it's not done right. It's not like lugs on a new trailer. Per DOT, 4 of those 4" straps by themselves strategically placed will suffice. Per DOT, only one chain on the front and one in the rear will suffice. I wish I could send you a better and actual faster way. Will save you lots of time my brotha. 💯💪🏽💪🏽
Running that chain through them slots is a choke point for your chain not to tighten at while binding. Strap to trailer in one eyelet and run to the corner do not snake that chain through it’s not nearly as strong
No such thing as overkill. Better safe than sorry. Those containers are no joke especially when the cargo is packed in there not secured. I have seen tons of containers videos falling off the chassis
Man this is Dope. Not to many videos out here that show you how to chain containers
I appreciate that bro ✊🏽

Thx for the help I load my first set of 2 20' containers tomorrow
The shipper always helps as well! If you get confused just ask the loader for direction.

Thank you 🙏🏽 💯
How long of a straps did you use and weight wise ?
If you have the chains, do you need to have the Straps?
I like to secure containers with chains and straps.
Always hook to the non welded side of the chain. 👍🏾
Thanks for the advice 🙏🏽
Love the consistency!!👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 Must be hot where you are 👀
Thank you! Couple warm days in Detroit but you know that lol
Great content. Very helpful
Thanks dad !
Great video man and very helpful….. keep them coming 💯
Appreciate it bro 💯
I have to load three pod containers tomorrow, are straps and chains needed?
I would strap all of them but only chain the back of the last pod and the front of the pod that’s at the front of the trailer
One twist to the right on each side
Hey Terry do you have an in-depth video I’m just getting started I need help thanks
what you need to know?

Dope vid bro.. real helpful for my future 💯 💪🏽
Happy I could provide some value 💯
Also use your spools not the stake pockets, you can rip them.
What are the spools?
@@anthonydterry the round parts of the rail, not the squares
What are the spools
Thank you! Im waiting to get my container loaded right now. First time doing containers
I’m glad this could help bro good luck 🙏🏽

How long are the chain
I’m not even sure

Half a twist visible on each side
Got it !
Overkill with the chains but good job. I only use 4 straps and that’s it.
I chain depending on the distance the container traveling but I also put at least 1 in the back pulling forward
Got ya
No such thing as overkill. Better safe than sorry. Those containers are no joke especially when the cargo is packed in there not secured. I have seen tons of containers videos falling off the chassis
hook binder to pocket not rub rail the rub rail
Why you running chains down your trailer? Grab a corner and tie it down four corners and cross the back two chains
Thanks for the advice
Tight video.
Appreciate it !
Good sh!t
Yessir !
If you chain it down you don’t need straps on it, help you save some time bro
Ok I didn’t know that appreciate that bro
Well why does everyone use both ?
@@JustTheFacts317 because they don’t know
Hey. You are definitely wasting time snaking you're chain like that. Great content. But that's not needed and it's actually overkill on your chains.
Fasho. I was learning on the go.
