@@MrShadowstyler bad for the joints I prefer resistance bands and 2 pound gloves so you don't have the weight to constantly pull down on your joints but that's my opinion the two pound gloves just make the normal 16 ounce feel like nothing and resistance bands build strength and speed
@@boxingchamp5059 as long as he’s incorporating other longer or faster runs during the week it’s sufficient. Also I wouldn’t recommend shadow boxing with anything more than 5lbs, it’s not good for your shoulders and really isn’t that effective for your boxing.
Remember gravity pulls down so your really only building shoulder endurance add a resistance band around each shoulder and hand to get that resistance for faster stronger hits workds for me
Bands and cables work but my favorite exercise for punching power is barbell floor presses. Lay on the floor slide under bar that's on a power rack do reps of 3 lower slowly hold 2to3seconds at the bottom then imagine pushing the bar through the ceiling. I do 6 sets of 3 reps..
I disagree dumbells will make you punches faster and stronger. The whole chain will adapt to the heavier weight not just shoulders. I tried bands, not for everyone.

This is good work for fast hands.

But careful, don't move to fast with this weights in front of your body.

@@MrShadowstyler true!
Resistance bands work much better since gravity pulls down it doesn't quite build all the muscles for extending the punch only your shoulder

how many lbs that is?
