@@grahamparker4749 I think they will shut the south directional side and filter north and south traffic on the north side until they have completed that part of the under cut. Then filter both directions of traffic on the south side to complete the cut on the other side. There isn't enough space at the side to construct or store a bridge unless that's what they are currently constructing at the side of the A46 at the new Stonley roundabout that's been stood dormant for the past year!??
@@IainHC1 I was at one of the open days locally I was told they are currently constructing the bridge at the side of A46 to be jacked into position when it is closed completely for 3 weeks. If they do it in 2 parts as you say it would take between 6 to 9 months to complete each section so it better to close completely for a shorter time

One heck of a bridge slide when it happens
Crikey, there’s a lot going on there. It will be interesting to see how HS2 finally dives under the A46.
Apparently next year the A46 will be closed for 3 weeks to dig up road and slide into place the bridge that’s being built next to the road
