Giving it divine shield from another source will be one of the more difficult things to do in the game now. Your only options will be playing George, and the tier 5 naga.

Glad Kripp focused on Elemental of Surprise as well. The moment I saw that I thought it was insane. Being able to give any elementals permanent divine shield through triples with that is really cool.
I wonder how choosing which double it triples works. Maybe like the “Wish” hero power? If you have two (or more) doubles of an elemental it would triple a random one?
I said this under RDU's patch review and I'll say it here, Hoggar had to be removed only because of mobile. I had plenty of games with infinite gold that I lost because the game just crashed. Repeatedly. The on attack pirate build doesn't work above a certain mmr theshhold because it doesnt generate enough stats to be competitive, meaning the only viable way to use Pirates was Hoggar apm. Which is an unrealistic way to balance a tribe. We're all sad to see it go because APM pirates is some of the most stressful, yet fun ways to play the game, but it isn't fair that one tribe be balanced around NASA computers.
The Boogiemonster will probably go through 6 stages, I would imagine. You'll have to play minions from tier 1 through 6, and I would assume the effect gets better with each tier. The question will be if there's one big payoff at the end or whether it'll just cycle back to 1.
I'm expecting it to cycle back to tier 1 and be the same buff at every tier. I think the wording would be more explicit if the buff improved but I'd also love to be wrong.
@@CTscroll I like it a lot more than Theotar. It's a lot easier to scale with, allows you to still play to your preferred minion types as it's not restricted to tribeless and it also buffs your whole board instead of just 3 minions of different tribes. It also buffs itself making it much better.
kripp you missed the fact that mantid queen doesnt get divine shield anymore, it gets reborn so its a plagued tidewalker without the need of another minion
Record smuggler is going to give plain underhanded dealer +8\+8 each turn if your board is filled with pirates. If dealer is gold it’s +16 / + 16. Pretty good scaling if you get it early, and easier set up than gold grubber with 3 other gold minions. Question is will pure pirates be good enough to run for that to happen
There is an even bigger change to Dragons. Kalygos now works with Bran. Meaning he triggers twice when Bran triggers a battlecry twice. That is a HUGE buff.
I've pretty much never liked nor been very successful with mechs but the new changes make it look both a lot cooler and a lot more viable. I have to agree with Kripp that the mech changes probably look the most interesting. I'm also really digging the quilboar changes. Unlike mechs, I've always liked quilboar but I don't feel like they've been very competitive for awhile now. These changes might change that. If nothing else, the changes are also pretty cool so even if it's underwhelming power wise, it'll probably be more fun to play. As a final note, I like the poisonous to venomous changes. It's just really annoying building up a powerful board and getting scammed out of the 1st place you would have otherwise gotten.
Don't mean to boast, but I've been spruiking the change to poison being a 1 hit effect for a looonnggg time. It completely makes sense when you consider divine shield being a 1 hit effect as well.
Hopefully these changes are enough to replace buddies. I quit not long after buddies were removed last time because I enjoyed buddies so much and only returned a few weeks ago during this buddy patch. Buddies just make the game more fun imo (granted with some outliers)
For me it's the opposite. Buddies and very unbalanced and you take way more damage thanks to them being high tavern tier aviable at low taverns. Together with the health/armor nerfs you'll die way too soon. Also thanks to buddies high rollers are way more frequent and completely wipe the lobby. The buddy meta is either you get lucky and high roll or you die.
I literally cannot see any reason for buddies to be removed, HS BG just seems so empty without them. Buddies give identity to each hero, give so much variety and make the game funnier.
I'm all for Venomous. The Boogie Monster looks like an fun play for a Galakrond player to shoot through the Tiers for playing the long game, and Upbeat Duo is finally a way to make Fireworks Fanatic a little more consistent. Octosari gives Beast Players an alternative to the Leapfrogger cheese with Felstomper synergy. Demon....looks kind of harder to work with, but has the late game swing potential. Dragon looks a little weaker with a cleave removed, but I suppose that was for balance since Beast also removed a cleave. Elementals losing Master sucks, but it looks like a more consistent type to scale with both its tools (Nomi and Rock Rock), and Elemental of Surprise keys off the Tavern buffs marvelously. I wasn't a fan of random Ragnaros. Mechs FINALLY have a strategy that doesn't need Kangor's, and Polarizing Beatboxer is going to make Demon/Mech hybrids hilarious.....though I'm not sure I agree with them having three six-tier cards (four with demon mech). Murlocs look very trippy and may need a mental shift to play correct since it looks like they work on handbuffing. Deep Blue Crooner is an interesting card, because it does pay out in the long run for Naga builds. Silent Swimmer is going to be a new tech card for anyone to slap onto their Baron or whatever "this dies last" card. Pirates LOOK weak, but I guarantee a certain Goblin is going to MILK this type for all it's worth and then some. Quillboars look fascinating to have a battlecry/deathrattle mix. For Undead, I don't agree with the Incorporeal Captain, but I do like the addition of Xylo Bones as a way to gain stats and Radio Star to have a smidge of economy.

They needed to because they added two more demons that you want to cycle, nearly doubling the number of good effects from cycling demons. You'll be continuing to cycle them all game now instead of just until you get to a felbat and sit.
Really isn't a big deal to be honest. Wrath weaver usually gets dropped late and early was all about tokens and soul juggler. The new early demons look to scale really well.
Mechs looked fun some synergies with demons (shop buffer and 6star add random magnetic dude). Beatboxer and just spam shop buffed magnetic minions = Value and stats

Can't wait for APM Murlocs now that Golden Brann's are easier to get than ever with Upbeat Duo in the game, Brann then Upbeat Duo for a golden Brann in 2 turns, then you just Primalfin and Young Murk-Eye, giving you 3 free Murlocs every turn, some of which will also likely have battlecries, paired with a couple Skyfin and then you're good to go. Then soon as another Duo is in shop you golden the Primalfin, for 6 free murlocs a turn. Dragons now at T6 have a comp for infinite Golden minions. Golden Brann, Murk-Eye and Drakkisath can give you 3 Smolderwing's every turn making a golden copy. The ease of Golden Brann along with Murk-eye now being generic minions I think will open a lot of really fun comps and strategies.
Bassgill looks strong. Not just with Leroy but Plagued Tidewalker and Operatic as well. Although, I don’t think hand buff murlocs will be all that great
Ah nice. Remove poisonous (which im happy) but now everyone is gonna be playing leap frog builds only again but now on steroids. You will summon a 200/200 token beast with leap frog buffs and suddenly it becomes 400/400 with banana slamma. Unless banana slamma doubles the base stats of the token which i highly doubt cuz otherwise it would be useless, banana slamma is 100% gonna be removed or heavily nerfed after the first 2 weeks.
Nerf on kalecgos?? It's a huge buff. It's the same buff but it is when a battlecry is triggered, so if you have brann it doubles or triples the amount of buffs kalecgos gives

I would argue it’s arguably more useful, since it’s possible to give it divine shield from another source, for a total of three, poisoned hits.

pirates are getting cleave so they dont need stats, beast didnt had much stats with cleave too

True but still weaker overall, so I think this is a good reasonable change for Mantid
It won't reapply the venomous. Reborn minions return with base stats and no buffs

Have used it with Bream Counter and you never actually need to play the card. Bassgill seems pretty solid in general.

Because murlocs aren't a viable tribe without poison. They're the worst tribe in the game even with it.
