I have kembara dvvt,millege about 380k km...still running but need to do top overhaul and replace gearbox.the engine consume engine oil and the gearbox sound so loud.
What a childhood...i remember this car was my family daily car since my dad was former plantation manager and almost all plantation company include my dads company was buying kembara as their official transport back in early 2000s until early 2010s
My dad got kembara hc first model 98 & now it become mine 😁 & feel so "Sayang" 🥰with this old Little Beast & I'm planning to upgrade it my old sweet Kembara ❤
During that era, kembara has no competition. The next Small 4x4 is Suzuki vitara ,cost a lot more n ride quite a bit better. Nowaday, we local HV many SUV but none can replace these!
Lucky i still have my kembara. Will never sell it because I know someday this local 4WD SUV price will spiking up in the future because what people want is a good, cheap, and reliable 4WD.
@@AnthonyLoh yes but the rim come from kembara like top spec just like Alexlovesmac film 2010 perodua viva 1.0 standard which original comes with 12 inch steel wheels but owner decided to change 14 inch alloy wheels taken from elite variant
Suspension is not as smooth. As this car is nearing to its life span. Had replaced the suspension systems parts quite a numbers of times. But overall still useable.
@@ryzanbaba665 Oh okay. I not sure I can recall the feeling of the automatic transmission kembara felt. But I think it is definitely better than this manual one. As this car has a short gear ratio. You need change change gear quite often. So the automatic transmission could save you some foot exercises. 🤣. Beside of fuel consumption tho.
@@AnthonyLoh at 2018 she died and her car is useful for memories and the car is useless until 2020 me and my dad fixing the car from power windows and engine and all . Now it's very important because the car useful for racing in extreme off-road My grandpa is happy now

Own one for daily commute to work. Very realiable, cheap to maintain & zippy 4wd to drive..going to restore it to last for another 20 yrs..

Not so good for a 1.3NA and 5 speed manual transmission car. Probably it is due to the 4WD system.

Yup, but Taruna (both SWB and LWB) is longer than Kembara so it can carry 7 passengers.
