Hey just a little tip to help with riding scooters you have lower your center of gravity for better control and especially to put more weight on the tires when taking off. Awesome video and scooter tho👍
Lol no he has his both foots on the back of the scooter of course he will get wobble you need to put a feet on the front of the dack to put more pressure on the front tire
In the settings of the inmotion app, you can change the acceleration on the front to 30% and rear keep it on 50% so your front tire doesn't skid/spin out/lose traction when you throttle it, until you learn to lean forward and put all your weight on the front tire when full throttling.
protip: turn off front motor when wheelie-ing scooter - the gyro effect of front motor trying to accelerate tries to pin the front back down; once it's disabled (should be a top level button with a hub symbol on it) it will be *much* easier to pull and keep a wheelie.
The display is km/h. It'll do about 90 km/h or maybe 95 km/h depending on weight, road inclination and headwind. Manual says it will do 110 km/h (68.3 mph) on a flat surface with a 75 kg load (full battery), the current version definitely will not go that fast. Max speed averages out for the average adult male rider, at around 55 mph (90 km/h). John almost got there. The early production version was faster, but owners melted engine connector cables. So those were replaced with beefed-up cables and connectors. Several new hyper-scooter manufacturers make inflated claims of speed to gain market-share. Deduct 10 mph off any speed claim you see, and it'll be much closer to the truth. Check recent test videos, they show GPS ~55 mph, maybe slightly over, is about correct for the current RS production model.
Hey John I love your videos and you helped teach me a lot about bikes and helped understand the electric moto scene you really were my introduction in this stuff I’ve watch your videos for years
I have an Onyx RCR that I'm super comfortable with. Decided to get a scooter as a backup and ended up getting the Dualtron X Limited. Still getting used to it. 84 volts 60ah battery, and thing just rips on torque.
I look up the TH-cam videos on the E-(anything) with the settings instead of going through the manual cause I’m just too lazy to read and sift through everything to find one setting.
At this point I'd rather have a scooter with a few more inches of clearance so I can ride up stairs as well as down them. I can still try to add aftermarket shocks that go a bit taller and there's room for going to 12" or better tires, so I can maybe squeeze 2-3" more height out of it, when dialed up for urban assault tactics.
The hazard indicator icon on the display is telling you an error-code was generated from a 'fault'. The error-code will have a 3 digit number and the description of that number is in a table in the front pages of the manual. Best not ignore those. Given yours went away quickly it was probably a thermal indicator. I really don't get why they can't just put the text description on the display, rather than throw a cryptic confusing number to go look up. Maybe keep a copy of the .pdf manual on your phone. It is easy to find the error-code table descriptions in it.
It also triggers whenever you initiate the brakes with no error code. I'm not sure why they use the same symbol for errors and the brake. It's an odd design choice for sure.
High Mr H. i own a light bee and a Dualtron Storm and i can tell ya : i'll never stop using this scooter Bro' !! here in old Europe if ya have a bike, it is hot to have fun, police will fine ya quickly at the first event. but with a scooter Bro'...??? no, if ya do not have a heavy crash or something else very bad, nobody ask ya anything. here a powerfull scooter is the best legal "B" plan i tell ya. thanx for ya nice vid once again. ya so fun Bro' !!!
It's so easy to do, glad you're ok from it. I saw a video of an inexperienced (unprotected) young scooter rider, riding almost at the bumper of an SUV in front at about 80 km/h for maybe a mile. I was horrified, felt I had to comment this was real unsafe on a scooter, he should give himself more error-margin. He replied very thoughtfully and politely too, assured me he was an extremely safe, aware and considerate rider at all times. I could see in all his videos that he was nothing like that, but I said no more. About 2-weeks later the same rider is sitting on a couch (with bandages) explaining that "a truck hit me". He didn't go into detail and there was of course no video. His Wolf King GT was still fixable (63 mph scooter). I hope he learns to be more honest about it. FAFO
I bash on my Gotrax GX3, amazing suspension, clearance, and frame/fork rigidity...terrible customer support, but few scooter companies do it well. I have a couple Inmotion EUC (V10F/V12 1st gen) and their support is good and quality high, so I expect it's the same for their scooters. The GX3 is capped at 37.9MPH; there's a wire snip for it but I ride at top speed maybe 5% of the time, when needed the headroom is nice but it's plenty fast for whacking traffic in town and owning lanes and will tow me up a cliff while accelerating. 11" tires are terrifying at 30MPH and I'm a long time street and enduro moto rider; it taught me some bruising lessons getting used to the geometry.
Some do that. Others have completely debunked it. There are several guys online doing Uber food deliveries on hyper-scooters, some on a NAMI, Kaabo or InMotion RS, and they all use a large insulated box on the front of the deck, so both their feet are together, inline and parallel on the rear deck. I've heard them specifically say they've done it for thousands of miles, with no accidents, and the whole mantra of safest scooter foot placement is nothing but bulls**t. I would say for maximum performance it does matter, but for just cruising around it doesn't matter. Upper body weight placement is more important for balance and fast braking, lean forward for acceleration. It clearly works very well for those guys (up to 50 and 60 mph btw, over crap streets with traffic). So this idea that feet together is a classic noob thing, or is poor for control, has been fully debunked. Although I think it may be true for smaller-wheels narrower deck and much cheaper scooter suspension and crap steering geometry. For high-powered and properly designed and built scooters, its basically not true at all.
You can. Easy to get used to and set the modes and power how you want it. It can be as torquey aka punchy as you want low end or as mild. Soooo much fun! The best fun on two wheels I've ever had.
Depends where you live, where I am I can go anywhere, unless it specifically says not to. The only place banned is riding on the road anywhere except the outside lane, but I can still use the inside lane area for turning a corner. Some pedestrians and drivers don't realize scooters can go almost anywhere legally so get annoyed by their presence, and chuck a Karen. Got to google the state govt e-scooter laws to be sure. We don't have separate municipal laws here.
@Ariel-x1x understood. much different here in NYC. New Yorkers aware of the invasion of electric and hate it but live with it. I never felt threatened by a driver unless they are bad drivers lol. ride safe 🙏
It's definitely one of the best and the most stable, also almost the fastest scooter around, but the rear suspension on the GT is a rubbish design, terrible for maintenance. Plus the lack of engine cable connectors on the GT, when changing tires, is a serious PITA, and becomes prohibitive. It just makes a difficult task much more problematic. That really sucks. Other than that it's still close to being the best.
Only a couple of weeks left to enter! hixfam.com/
I got a handful of tickets, fingers crossed
@JohnHicksFilm i re entered so many times I'm not sure if I hit the max.
Do a scooter give away next! Or hyperbee if they ever come out
Man John that Scooter is a beast dude holy crap I bet you get the good Cali lady's there man lol!!!!
careful with the speed wobbles on that scooter i seen videos of people wobbling and eating road
Hey just a little tip to help with riding scooters you have lower your center of gravity for better control and especially to put more weight on the tires when taking off. Awesome video and scooter tho👍
7:42 "Alright. Poppin' into mode 3 we're getting a little- Oh~"
I think the reason why your stem was wobbling back and forth is because the barrel nut that locks the stem in place was not tightened properly
Lol no he has his both foots on the back of the scooter of course he will get wobble you need to put a feet on the front of the dack to put more pressure on the front tire

How much range are you getting on the Dualtron?
The RS Midnight and Midnight Lite are BEASTS of a scooter ....I have one and LOVE it!!!
Just getting started with the video I can already tell it’s gonna be a banger 🔥🔥💯
Learning to modulate the twist throttle takes a few rides but it's a bit nicer feel than the trigger throttle.
I'm more scared of a scooter running 28mph than a motorcycle running at 60mph 😭😭
twist throttle was the wrong choice for this tbh, but you can ride one handed I dont recommend it until youre extremely comfortable but you can do it
I tried to get a ebike before through your channel. Didn't get it, so I give up but it's cool watching
I look up the TH-cam videos on the E-(anything) with the settings instead of going through the manual cause I’m just too lazy to read and sift through everything to find one setting.
Damn hicks you just get topping the last video, be careful out there my dude🤙
Range bro! Just buy the more expensive and don't put it in mode 4 if you don't want that much speed
always better to have speed and not use it than need and not have, think about hills
Love INMOTION. Can’t wait till you get into EUC’s
Does it come with a body bag?
Dam 80pmh is freaking insane dude clean as set up 🫡

Awesome video John hicksfam 4life
Dang. 80 mph. Saw a 3 scooter pileup once. Would hate to have that happen at 80 mph.
it's not mph
it's set to kmph
The true max ride speed in mode 4 is close to 55 mph.
Man your videos make me want a Pev so bad🙃😔
They're a lot of fun! I bought my first PEV hyper scooter almost a year ago. Recommended
How can I purchase that scooter

The roads in LA are super janky, I thought the roads in the UK were bad 😂 would not get me on a scooter in traffic 🫠
Nice one but seems pretty dangerous watch out for speed wobble and pot holes
not gunna lie.... ive always imagined youre actually in los santos... i mean you are but still you know what i mean.
Ever modify your bikes with upgrades?

@ScooterSquires is awesome at riding scooters, oh wait that's me lol I ride fast most of the time, I love scooters.
Yeah them scooters do be scary af 😂💀
Damn thats crazy!
I took a fall on my scooter on day 1...a car cut me off.

Stay off the sidewalks!
In many places sidewalks are legal for e-scooters but with a speed restriction like a jog.
yeah those scooters aren't designed to be riding on sidewalks. What's up with that? why west coast be riding on sidewalk? very frowned upon in NYC.
