    It's heavily implied in the prequels that either Palpatine or Darth Plagueis used the force to create the immaculate conception in Shmei Skywalker.
    "He could use the midichlorians to create... (glances intensely at anakin) LIFE"
    So like... the Skywalker and Palpatine family trees MIGHT have some overlap!

      Is that why all those stormtroopers have a clear burnhole that directly lines up with their heart? Right totally seems like that energy blast was evenly distributed across this armour and totally did not incinerate this poor hapless stormtrooper's heart.
      In the original movies that explanation actually works because, for the most part, they do not show stormtroopers lying quite clearly dead in quite clearly compromised armour because CGI was not a thing and budgets were much smaller so creating two sets of armour every time you need a dead stormtrooper was not an option.

      Jason Martin I think they were doing a great job of showing that when she really wanted to win she’d give into her rage and how she always wanted to do it herself and go her own way but then they ruined all of it when she healed Kylo/Ben. If they had her go against the emperor with no help no one to turn to, the way she kinda wanted it that would of been good and then she could be turned by the people coming to help her cause and then all the Jedi stuff happens

    • @TheTriforceDragon
      @TheTriforceDragon 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I would much rather have seen Rey die and Ben live. I see so much more potentially interesting storytelling in having someone like Ben, who has fallen and then return to the light, be the the one who has to rebuilt the Jedi (or whatever we might end up calling it) while also dealing with the fallout of his past and mistakes.
      I can just see him so easily in that final scene on Tatoine. The nod from his mother and Luke, add in Anakin's force ghost as well for that tie back to Ben wanting to emulate his grandfather and Ben proudly declaring himself as Ben Skywalker (as opposed to the Rey name stealing, seriously girl deal with your own damn heritage, dont steal someone else's).
      Later appearances of Ben could have him in a cloak with a mask, a less frightening one, as he now has to hide his identity due to his past instead of how he tried to emulate Vader.
      Why must all redeemed sith die instantly? Why cant we for once explore their attempts at penance and how they deal with their past?

    • @crunchytoast6007
      @crunchytoast6007 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jacob how would they have him live though? He just pops up out of the hole after Reg and The Emperor fight and walks off to rebuild the Jedi? It was gonna be really hard to have Ben play a big role in the final fight and have Rey kill The Emperor and die then have Ben show up as the last hope(or the rising skywalker)

    • @TheTriforceDragon
      @TheTriforceDragon 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@crunchytoast6007 The fact that Ben already did not play a big role in the final fight after three movies and his redemption is a massive problem already and annoys me a lot. Fixing it is something i would want done even without the change as to who survives.
      In fact, if one wants to get really specific here, the best choice Rey could have made would have been to only show the way to the Sith planet, but never land. Without Rey and Ben there to restore him Palpatine would have remained weakened and the Resistance fleet + reinforcements could have won the battle and bombed the temple at leisure.
      But getting into the countless stupidities and mistakes of the movies is something I could spend house on.

    The "transferring life" thing is totally videogame logic. She heals the snake, her health bar goes down a little... later on she can gain more health, her health bar can go up and down, but once it hits 0%, she's dead.
    They say they're free from Sar Wars now, but I hope they get to see The Mandalorian, I reckon they'll like it a lot more than these films. The baby Yoda character in that can force heal too. He's a little baby so he passes out after having used the force extensively.
    01:25:00 "which, y'know, makes it sound like this is part of the creepy part of the internet where rule 42 exists..."

    (1:25:00) Regarding the Sith people in the stadium seating. It was explained (very briefly) in the beginning of the movie that the Emperor had created a Sith/Emperor cult of some sort at some point. It is assumed that this Sith cult revived the Emperor from death, built all of these Death Star ships, and made all of the Snoke clones.
    How do these people live on this planet that is basically all rocks? Where do they get the resources and research to make these ships? How did they find/revive the Emperor? How did they get to the planet without a Sith way finder (because we were told there were only two left and you needed because of the "Gravity Wells" and "Space Storms")? Who knows (because movie that's how). I really don't want to nitpick but it really feels like there was no plan (like they say in the video).

    on the subject of the medal, when i first seen it i kinda had the reaction everyone else had, that this was a nod to the "chewie didn't get a medal" meme, but when i thought about it some more i think the medal was han's medal from a new hope. it makes sense that leia would have the medal, and it makes sense she would want to give it to chewie after her death, and grey mentioning she was holding it when she accidentally killed her son kinda lends credence to that...that was her reminder of han.

So each director went with their vision of how to get to the final confrontation, but they had such different ideas that it was impossible for them to coexist peacefully in the same trilogy.

    Ok so there WAS a plan for the films that JJ came up with, but Rian, when he directed TLJ, completely ignored JJ’s plan.

    Light skipping is just a continuation of what the falcon did in TFA to get by statkiller bases defenses isn't it? Light skipping into the planets atmosphere?

    • @hastyscorpion
      @hastyscorpion 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      David Morales I don't think ta that they were doing it in atmosphere it's that they were doing it with out any sort of calculations. In A New Hope Han makes it very clear that you can't just jump to light speed Willy Nilly.

    The movie was about Rey finding her identity. Nothing else mattered so most other things suffered.

    1:36:00 they get a lot more people because they aren’t on the defensive, this is the one chance they all have to fight back and win so people are motivated to come out. Everyone want to be in the winning team

    Why hate the fact Clone Troopers were the predecessors of Stromtroopers? I mean what did people expect, it's called the Clone Wars since 1977, I'm surprised they weren't clones the first first.

    I assumed the healing power was an innate Sith power of Rey because Rise of Skywalker thinks Lamarck was right.

    Last Jedi was deeply flawed, but it's my favorite of the new trilogy just because it at least *tried* to do something interesting with the property.

      I feel your pain, sharing this on the internet. I totally agree. 1 felt like a rehash, 2 was weird but very interesting in its "fuck nostalgia, lets challenge preconceived ideas about this world, legends are not made by a name but by actions" and 3 just... badly disagreed and try to one up everything until it blew up in its face.

    I just pretend this sequel trilogy never existed, and RO was the great star wars film we got out of disney.
    That's it. That solves this whole problem.
    TFA, TLJ, and ROS and Solo are just fan fiction. Problem solved.

    I felt the exact same nothingness Grey described. My expectations were so low after The Last Jedi that the stupid stuff Rise of Skywalker did didn't even surprise me or make me feel anything. Seeing it felt like getting lunch with an old friend whose life fell apart and you stopped hanging out with them long ago. You are just there out of a sense of obligation and maybe some morbid curiosity, but you don't really care what they have to say anymore.
