    Another way is to go into UE5 --> “Edit → Project settings → Platforms → Windows → Default RHI” and select DirectX 11 or Vulkan. This is the only way it worked for me

    Maybe it should be noted that the default setting is 128 (atleast for UE5 and i believe 512 for UE4) so if you have a value that is that high thats on you because by default projects don't have such a high value.

      @@prathamshailesh maybe we should lower it from 128 ,to another even number like 62 idk though! ive created duplicates of my projects in ue4 so i can freely open a copy of my project and experiment with my game so i don't mess the main 1 up!! that's a good tip for me a long term dev

    What happens if unreal wont even open? I only have the dashboard. The project error shows the same message on open

      When I open the DefaultEngine.ini file, that line about ReflectionCaptureResolution does not exist. Any help?

      @@TheCreatorII you figured it out? using UE 5.02 and they changed the DefaultEngine.ini file indeed

      @@maiskorrel Yes, I did thank you. I just had to type out the "missing" lines in the ini file and it worked

    Im useing a RTX4090 128gb ram @8000mhz and a AMD7950x. When i open a mesh and try to view UVs it gives me this warning... I understand 2048 is alot but with 16GB of VRAM, should i even be experiencing this issue when im just viewing a simple mesh?

    Another simple patch. To allocate maximum memory for virtual textures, at the Console: r,Streaming.Poolsize 0. IN the EDITOR: Enable all virtual memory support for textures , Light Mass. It will shorten the load time. REQUIRES RESTART.

    Thank you SO so much! Straightforward and to the point, problem solved :) One question tho, when I open the level after making this adjustment, part of the viewport appears to be obfuscated, any idea why that might be happening?

    My ini file doesn't have any settings like that :(
    I'm using UE5 and it only has these settings:
    [/Script/Engine.RendererSettings]
    r.GenerateMeshDistanceFields=True
    r.DynamicGlobalIlluminationMethod=1
    r.ReflectionMethod=1
    r.Shadow.Virtual.Enable=1

      Make sure you are looking at the file
      “DefaultENguni.ini” and not any of the other ones 😊

    I have mine set to 128 for an old game look. I have a super optimized scene and everything. Whenever I try to delete anything from my scene, it'll crash to fatal error and give me an out of memory error. Any ideas?

    getting the error in 5.1 preview. the .ini file has no definition for reflection capture but in the editor, it is set to 512. running out of things to try! The specific error says "out of video memory trying to allocate a rendering resource"

      From Intah, a few comments above, worked for me.
      Another way is to go into UE5 --> “Edit → Project settings → Platforms → Windows → Default RHI” and select DirectX 11 or Vulkan. This is the only way it worked for me

    Also this happens when your virtual memory size is way to small.
    I had only 512 mb. So a added 5000 mb minimum and 10000 mb max.
    And it worked for me.

    the problem i am having when i start movie render queue it crashes the error message is i don't have enough VRAM space, but the scene it self loads perfectly

      @@sybexstudio for me it was all about optimizing my scene, I converted all 4K texture assets to 1K, only for stuff that was very far from the camera.

      Resolution render right on far objects? Can you set distance to lower res or somewhere to check?

      @@sybexstudio yes it renders perfectly for far objects with 1k texture, if that is what you are asking.
      For downgrading to 1k I selected all assets, then right-clicking "asset action" bulk edit via matrix property.

    Another solution that worked for me until I can get a new graphics card (using 690 SLI) is to change the Project Engine Rendering setting under Global Illumination to "Standalone Ray Traced (Depreciated). Still uses Lumen, just depreciated. This got rid of the error message and running over 60 FPS, at EPIC Scalability Quality.

    Sadly this doesn't work for 5.2... that line of text doesn't exist in DefaultEngine... or anywhere as far as I can see....

      Your GPU does play a part but it's not the main issue. Your main issue is your RAM (Memory) doesn't have enough GB to allocate certain game/project files. Hence the reason people have troubles adding a large project to their scene. With a RTX 4090 try upgrading your RAM to 16GB - 32GB

      @@blenduserr I just used MSI Afterburner to change Power Limit and Temp. (im not sure if i touched any OC things) After that it fixed it ever since, even if you revert to default. I figured it was just a bad base setup since its a factory OC card. Hope it helps.
