That was my second reason for buying the game. First was intrest in the series overall but I was gonna buy Lydie and Suelle. (I bought it anyway, because Ryza sold me the series).
The only differences between the Switch version the others are slighty worse shadows, water effects and less foliage. Also loading times are so slightly longer on the Switch, but to tell the truth performance is very similar on all versions so overall you will get a good experience no matter which system you decide to play it.

I really enjoy playing this game and the switch version runs really well. It runs at 30 fps and I haven't encountered any slow down
I've been enjoying Atelier Ryza a lot on the Switch. Sadly my copy only arrived a bit late (11 November), but at least I can enjoy the game now. In terms of performance it's actually not that bad at all... There are almost no stutters at all... I personally only notice them after going to Boden District after I've launched the game. After that everything seems fine. FPS are obviously kept to 30 which isn't that offputting though. Graphically it looks really good... As you would expect some textures are a bit blurrier, but I personally don't notice it as much. Shadows still have a slight blocky effect to them, but that's the worst thing about the Switch version that comes to mind. So all in all I think the Switch version is actually pretty good this time.
Also great job on the video. You covered everything that needs to be said and also put quite some effort into this video. I really enjoyed it.
Sounds about what I expected from seeing gameplay videos. Thanks for confirming. Seems like the Switch port of Ryza is a decent improvement over Lulua as well, which is great to see.
@@YSN Ryza's Switch port is definitely an improvement over Lulua. While I was still reluctant on getting Lulua for Switch I can recommend Ryza for Switch pretty safely.

@@YSN Yeah, it's pretty much exactly what you'd hope for from a Switch port. The shadows are a little fugly and it's a little slower to load, but is otherwise a good experience. I think KT and Gust probably prioritized the console ports knowing that Ryza was intended to attract new players to the series. The overall presentation is lovely on Switch, and that version is the best-reviewed of the three, if Metacritic is to be believed.

Most beautiful Atelier game to date on Switch. No performance issues to note.
Could be just me. But the difference from Lulua, Lydie and Suelle is basically better textures and shadows and it makes all the difference. Also the steam port is finally able to be at 60fps without stutters. If anything the battle system reminds me of Atelier Iris series which I like a lot. Also late game synthesis is way earlier.

This game looks really good, but just saw the price on Steam, 2000 MX pesos for the full game, that's around 100 USDs

The animations suddenly stopping is due the 60 fps. The games animations seems to be based on 30 fps everything to high breaks it for some reason
Great review. I'm loving the game so far, though the beginning is kinda slow compared to past Ateliers. But once i got the world map option, i had alot more fun.
I think it's a pity they didn't dub the game (now that the series is getting some traction), cause as someone that has English as their second (actually third, but anyway, the point remains), it is annoying having to read in a foreign language to understand dialogues in a different foreign language. Also, it would help attract some players I think (and it can't be that expensive if the Neptunia games feature English dubs)
i just started this game on switch and i pretty much play exclusively in handheld mode. it runs pretty well and ive noticed no issues so far. while on the other hand i tried atelier Lydie and Suelle on switch and it ran horribly. so bad that i ended up reselling it lol. anyway id say Ryza is pretty optimized on switch with its gorgeous graphics still intact

I want to try it. It looks decent. But I bought Firis and I got burned so hard my ass was atomized. I fucking hated that game. Holy shit. That's definitely my most regretted purchase of all time.
