that cubase/Logic Pro joke get's me every time, no hate on fruity loops, Ableton or Cubase, but idk I just think that Logic is the ultimate tool for making music, fell in love ever since I tried it
The title suggest, this was a masterclass during ADE, this is not correct, this was a masterclass of BAX shop, the biggest musicstore in Holland, just saying..
I do not think i will ever love any DAW like i love Cubase.. I love that software especially when im dealing with audio editing.. The crispiness on its skin is very appealing, its mix console is one of the best ever... I will not mention the midi functionalities, thats what makes Cubase the best DAW with sound and film music composers.
What i can say , it is not easy to learn Cubase if you started from other DAWs, but if you started with Cubase, it is much easier to learn other DAWs. Cubase is a complex but software using old paradigm approach, but once you crack in and taste its glimpse, you will be reluctant to move out . Cubase haven't yet addressed the needs of the new generation as it relates to electronic music.
Cubase 9 has an new ableton-like Simpler thing at the bottom of the screen. Are you sure time-stretching is still a lot more difficult in Cubase? But overall I agree. Cubase has inconsistent & overall pretty bad user interface in my opinion. But there are also many things in Cubase that work better than in Ableton. The chord track or comping, for example.
I generally love Cubase's interface, especially the drum track. For me it suits better when you're recording a band or whole length songs. However, if you're into loop-based production, you'd better use Ableton. Just having all audio samples in the left pane is much handier than having to go "File->Import Audio" each time. Or changing a key in a portion of an audio sample is better done w Control+E and pitch down than having to a) export that portion as a new audio file b) open pitch shifter from the menu, etc.
Sounds like a mixture of him trying to copy the rhythm of 'Outside' by Calvin Harris and the actual synth sound from 'Sweet Nothing' by, also, Calvin Harris. Inspiration is a great thing but I think in this case he became too 'over inspired'.
As if Calvin Harris is THE genius.... No offense. His music is really basic basic. I feel Above and Beyond artistically blow CH light years away... No hate intended though... music is soooo personal and relative...
Turned pop? lool. The man has been pop since he started with his 'I Created Disco' album. You only think he's turned pop because you probably only discovered his music when he relaunched himself in america as an 'EDM' artist.
dafuq is he doing @17:46 eqing out frequencies that are not realy there to get a better reult in mastering? Yea each key has some notes that fit the scale, but filter bands are to broad to eq that precise. If you shrink the bandwith the filters will sound bad.
Alt + E in FL Studio will give you a humanize option in the piano roll.

For anyone wanting the plugin; it's actually called 's(M)exoscope' by developers Bram and Sean from the company Smart Electronix.
Is it a paid plugin or free?
You are the best Nicky, thanks!

Last question was worth it alone!

Cool tip on the oscilloscope though, good visual mixing technique.
Awesome with your acoustic stuff guy : ))

How do u like Cubase version 9? I find the transition difficult.

Changing the pitch, time-stretching still involves a lot of clicking. In Ableton it's far quicker. Note, I am a Cubase fan since 1997.

He just shaded NoCopyrightSounds with the last tip
He’s a G
Sounds like a mixture of him trying to copy the rhythm of 'Outside' by Calvin Harris and the actual synth sound from 'Sweet Nothing' by, also, Calvin Harris. Inspiration is a great thing but I think in this case he became too 'over inspired'.
calvin harris' music is so generic. A 12 year old could come up with something similar.
As if Calvin Harris is THE genius.... No offense. His music is really basic basic. I feel Above and Beyond artistically blow CH light years away... No hate intended though... music is soooo personal and relative...
well no shit, i consider above and beyond one of the gods of electronic music. CH is a good producer also but he turned pop
Turned pop? lool. The man has been pop since he started with his 'I Created Disco' album. You only think he's turned pop because you probably only discovered his music when he relaunched himself in america as an 'EDM' artist.
maybe maybe, so he's been pop ever since? i instantly became a fan when i heard his ready for the weekend album
Anyone know what label he is talking about at the end?

dafuq is he doing @17:46 eqing out frequencies that are not realy there to get a better reult in mastering?
